You can be rightly proud of a truly excellent build... The Tomcat was my favourite US Navy jet aircraft back in the day... immortalized in the film The Final Countdown with Kirk Douglas.

Thanks for this! I would like to get back into model building and detail is key. What is the best F-14 Tomcat I can buy to build in 1/48 or larger scale?
Is the "Dark wash" the Tamiya panel line accent? Just curious on why using that on all the parts after gluing IE. the panel line during the fuselage assembly. Also, is that UMP wash oil based?
Hi Peri, if this is up to your normal high standards it will turn out to be absolutely fantastic, we would expect notning less of you, I am not trying to put pressure on you, not certain when your next video will be out, so I would like to wish you and your family and friends all the very bext for Christmas and hope you have a safe and Happy and covid free New Year, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
Looks like I’m going to be selling off a lot of the Hasegawa kits I’ve had for almost 20 years in the stash, and buy a few of these with that cash. Too many schemes out there that I want to build that are worthwhile to put on a higher quality kit, starting with the Albatross VF-111 Miss Molly sheet. Nice work.
@@PerisModels I believe @gilles DELAVOUX was saying, for the finished model to be shown, a darker background than the blue in the video would really make the plane look good and they liked your work
Looks awesome Peri! I was just wondering, where did you get that black base/stand for the aircraft? It looks both stunning and clean together with the acrylic rods!
Hi, my friend. Awesome video! I am a big fan of your work. I want to confirm if you use h 316 at part 30:26 of the video. The color looks like light gull gray. Is the subtitle is correct? Thank you for this master class of modeling!
Hey! I have that jet's tail number! I too have a model of 200 from the Jolly Rodgers. I'm a little surprised the kit doesn't appear to have the Glove Vanes. Yes they were disabled later on, but 200 of VF-61 did fly with them for a time. All of them did. For period authenticity, especially if it's carrying AIM-54s, it would've been nice if the kit had the F-14s glove vanes included in the build, that way the builder could decide if they wanted them deployed or not. SLIGHT Nit pick, and maybe others have pointed it out... The wings are swept into their stowage position. They do not go THAT far back in flight. In the position you have them in now, the aircraft wouldn't be able to maneuver because the elevons would impact the main wings if they're actuated to a positive AoA to pitch down.
Good job on this kit! One thing I noticed is that you swept back the wings too much (into the "parking" position), during flight, the fully swept back position of the wing should be a straight line with the fixed part of the wing (glove).
Your wing sweep is too far back for in-flight. You are showing the deck parking wing sweep which is a few degrees further than in-flight. Leading edges should be parallel for in-flight.
It looked better before you added the blackwash as it covered many of the details of the sea salt weathering and the panel lines of the real plane are not that visible even when the plane is weathered.
Best paint scheme ever put on an aircraft
I love your weathering. The panels pop and the finish looks legit. You didn't add too much and make it look unrealistic.
Thank you 😊

Where can I get that model stand? Or did it come with the kit? That’s a great build of the Tomcat.

?
It is too gloss for the tomcat.
Light gull grey FS16440 IS gloss. The first number of federal standard (FS) paint is to determine finish.
1 is gloss, 2 is semi-gloss and 3 is flat
