You are ripping on that board. The waves are great and uncrowded; I came to California a bunch of times in the '80s. It's such a cool place! There are some big waves, and you are shredding them🔥; great video, thanks🙏🤙
We've been blessed with so many videos recently thanks Thomye! I even stumbled across Jade's videos and saw that you were in one of them hahahahaha caught me by surprise. I hope you make more videos in general. Session vlogs, board unboxings, makeup tutorials, whatever. I think I speak for most of us when I say that I watch you for your personality and interesting insights, not just for board reviews.
Looks like it is working extremely well for you and when you pumped it, it looked like it had the response of a board 4 inches shorter. A very convincing design. Interesting rocker as well, front half looks pretty smooth and standard but there is a lot of curve in the middle and very little in the last 2 feet or so. Based on how responsive that board looked I would have expected the tail rocker to be more focused in the actual tail area but perhaps the rocker curve being focused/greater in the center of the board helps more front footed surfers maneuver and pump the board. The interesting idea here is that flat rockers are fast, but lack back foot responsiveness and to some degree, control. It seems the designer brought that responsiveness back in by having a pulled in round tail, which is inherently responsive. So it will work off the back foot as well as the front. It's an interesting rocker/outline combo, as real step ups with similar round tails have more curve in the actual tail area even if they don't have greater rocker tip measurements. Thank you for this video, as a hobbyist shaper it is very informative and your surfing looks great. That board looks like a winner. As far as fins, because of the long rail line and flat tail, I would try pivot fins that are much smaller than you normally use. The rail itself will dig in and not want to pivot well, so smaller pivot fins can help, especially in larger surf.
thanks for the very insightful comment. on Day 5 with the 2 big waves, I had the big Orcas, the fins were way too big. I could feel the drag cuz the board wanted to go faster but the fins wouldn't let it. So on Day 6 and 7, I switched to the Krakens which are way smaller. I will try a pivot next. Thanks again.
The Jalepeno still blows my mind! Colored bottom is cool ....... me never got into the mid length step up thing ....... kinda anti longboarding but do dabble when the surf is gutless during family outings with them and it's fun lol. Shout out to your cameraman. Happy 2005 Thomye! 🤙
Rad board! I have a 6’9” Chilli Twin Strength on order right now. I got the NVS Orcas a couple of weeks ago for it. Hoping it all works as well as this did for you. Rippin’!
nice waves and surfing. I bought a 6'10" Album Townsend a few years ago and its the same; In between a step up and mid-length as im 6'5". Love the board, its a good wave board but will work in small waves with some push.
Those are big waves it looks like to me (first intro waves), although you said it's a bit soft. You're flying down the line on that thing too. NVS Orcas seem to always go well with you. I've been having a lot of fun on the KS Endorfins Twins (altho unsure if they have knocked out my NVS Album Twins yet) but I like how they go the opposite of NVS and instead of heft, they are super light. Doing some fin testing right now, I acutally like them more than the Machado Twins in his own Too Fish Model. I dig this Twin Pin a lot. It's kinda like my 'Varga' board - an 8ft fun board I ride as a twin. Feels like you're cheating lol. You can really throw that thing up to. I notice like you said, I love the Firewire epoxy etc - but I like having a bigger PU board for step up days. You had my heart racing at @4:48 - glad you survived. I had the chance to surf Lennox Head a few times when I was in Aus and that was is so fun - makes sense a shaper from there would make this kinda board - would shred there. Thanks for another awesome vid mate - last couple minutes were a true banger. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you. The music is from my editor app, CyberLink Power Director. It's one of their stock free music called Creepy. Their choices don't really go with surfing videos so I have to keep using the same ones, LOL.
Haven't tried it. One of my buddies keeps saying he is going to get one but he hasn't pulled the trigger. Hopefully he does soon and hopefully he lets me review it.
No worries I just remember the video you made at the JS store. Currently injured so can’t surf I have sciatica down my right leg, awful feeling hope that anyone who has it feels better
@@Haffizy17 bummer, injuries are the worst. what part of Oceanside do you usually surf. I used to go to Oceanside every weekend. Did that for a full year. Can't remember why, I think one of our friends was in the Marines at Pendleton. I can't think of any other reason we would go there every weekend. haha

Lol, makeup tutorials.
So useful to see you surf the same board in so many different wave conditions
So close to getting shacked! Awesome surfing.
Man those big waves were massive!!
Great review as always, looking forward for thr next board
Great review thanks! Happy and healthy 2025 to you !
I recently got the Black Panda….these Aloha boards are super value for money at the moment!!!!
“Aloha!” Thanks for all the great board reviews! Happy New Year!🎉
In 2025, you’ll complete your frontside air!

Those Aloha boards are slept on.
not sure what you mean by that, can you rephrase? Sorry.
@@ThomyeSurfsThey’re good boards, but people pass them up.

Hey, happy new year!
What is the music playing in the end?
