Wow what a very unique skill and art this man has. He is up there with a doctor, mechanic and engineer. Clocks can be very complicated and exact instruments.
Thank you for creating this! It's quite fascinating! I'm currently finishing up a screenplay about a horologist; "After the death of his Father, a boy becomes obsessed with time keeping."
I took apart and put back together a hermle 351 - 031 movement could you please tell me or SHOW me a pic or drawing on EXACTLY" how the front should be/appear/ to function properly,(all the hardware as it should be), I usually take it to a clock repairer,( eddie takianor something of that kind of name IN ORANGE, CA,), Then I asked the "OC CLOCKMAKER", he said he'd get back to me "on you-tube" but he never did even after I called him and left a message.........please help. thank you. A BUDDING CLOCKMAKER/REPAIRER
I am clockmaker and our profession it’s dying ,I can restore clock complete ,dial ,case, polishing the movement but no many people want to repair clock ...the modern technology is kill us.....I am clockmaker for 30 years
Why don't you try building your own clocks and selling them? I would find watch/clock repairing to be a bit boring. Designing and building watches like Roger Smith or George Daniels seems so much more appealing. If I had all of that knowledge, I'd be building my own clocks.
@@watchmanexpert I'm sorry for the tone in my last message, it was a bit disrespectful. I have massive respect for anyone who is an experienced watch/clockmaker, regardless of whether they "just' repair, or whether they build their own pieces from scratch. I'm just curious if you have ever made a clock or watch from scratch just for the fun of it? Or even from spare parts if not from scratch. Did you ever try that just for fun? You may be surprised at who is interested in your pieces...
@@everythingviral972 I will take in consideration! I started went I was 15 years old and now I am 51 all my life working on clock 😊 and yes one time I made one clock just for fun but I did it different the hand move backwards and the numbers are backwards was difficult made the gears to run the clock backwards ... still in my house 😀

His workshop is amazing. A sort of art imbedded in it.
I'd buy his shop from him in a heartbeat, even be his apprentice.
Great vid.

He doesn't seem very passionate.
