I finally got to try out United’s long-haul economy on their flagship aircraft the 777-300ER. United has some of the youngest 777-300ERs in the world with an average age of 4 years. Although the flight was nothing special, I still had a comfortable and enjoyable flight. I was pleasantly surprised to see that United had brought the service back to pre-pandemic levels which shows that they have stopped using the pandemic as an excuse for cost-cutting. This could be seen on my Polaris Business flight 6 months ago when I flew to Munich, United had drastically reduced service for Business Class. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about my experience and I would not mind flying United again long-haul in economy.

Awesome trip report. At first I was really impressed that UA served a mid-flight snack for all passengers although the flight was 11 hours, which was not very long. But later, I found out why... I don't like they served sandwich as a second meal for a flight that's 11 hours long...

I guess "good" is the strongest adjective you can give for this flight. Everything looked quite OK, not poor, not great. If every flight is this quality, people should have few complaints.

I was in a Delta IROP and they put me on a UA flight from SFO to Japan. It was a shock for me to see how bad United was compared to Delta. Food portion was so small and they skipped mid-flight snack and there was nothing in the galley and bottled water is the tiny ones. Crew was aloof and the 9-abreast 787 was extremely uncomfortable and unbearable even for a frequent long-haul flyer like me.. It seems like UA made some minor improvements since then of at least doing a mid-flight service and have some spare items in the galley.

Very much enjoy United on international flights, especially the Pretzel Roll before landing. Having snacks and drinks in the galley at all times is also a nice touch. United offers a decent coach product, but their Polaris Class is fantastic!

Great video! Sad to see United reduce its pre-landing meal to just a simple sandwich. They used to be, in my opinion, the best airline for the west coast USA - Europe route (beverage service, post-takeoff full meal plus ice cream, mid-flight snacks (sandwich and treats), pre-landing full meal, good IFE, decent legroom, comfortable seat, USB), but now it looks like United Airlines is no different than all other airlines.
I much prefer the Pretzel Roll to anything else. Please speak for yourself.

I am going to fly with this flight next week, do you know if one gets a sleep mask on the flight? And how was the security check after the flight? Did it last very long? (excuse my bad english i am from germany)
Kein Ding Bruder, dein Englisch ist super. 👍 Also eine Schlafmaske bekommt man leider nicht bei der Economy Class aber in die Premium Plus und Polaris schon. Die Zoll Schlange in Frankfurt geht normalerweise ziemlich schnell für Bürgern die EU und Schengen.

@@Lasse1607 Ja natürlich! Die Sicherheitskontrolle Schlange in San Francisco Flughafen kann zwischen zehn und 20 Minuten dauern, aber fast nie länger als ne halbe Stunde.

I have flight on next week with Air India and United airlines, the bag dimensions they mentioned was 158cm and my bags was 160cm, this leads to any problem with dimensions , will they concentrate on weight or dimensions for check in bags, for 1-2cm any problem or onlu weight is important for check in Bags
For checked baggage you should be fine just so long as your weight remains under 22kg.
I’m debating on wether to fly United or Lufthansa on a similar route it would be a United 777 v Lufthansa 330 or Mabye a 747. Would you say Lufthansa is better even though it is more expensive?
Not at all, if you look at my review of the Lufthansa 747-8i and compare it to this one, I feel that the quality of service with United is better. Although the 747 is an amazing plane, I wouldn’t say it is worth the extra money to fly Lufthansa.

I just did Frankfurt to Newark yesterday and this is not fun. You are packed in like sardines. We had 2 lands in Newark. The first on hit and then we hopped back up about 10 feet and really slammed. A woman in front of us immediately got sick.

Thanks for watching! I use the SPL meter to record cabin noise levels because that is something, that I have found, not very many people do.

I think 17.3 inches of width is on B787. Their B777-300 has width of 17.05 inches in economy.
That’s what is says on their website but I bring a tape measure with me on all my flights and and I got a measurement of 17.3“
Well that’s a relief then coz I am suppose to fly long haul in May. Thankfully it’s economy plus.

United had plans of removing seatback IFE for their domestic fleet but now, that is no longer the case. American Airlines is still pro BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) though.

Ich fliege ziemlich oft zwischen den USA und Deutschland, weil ich Familie in beiden Ländern habe. Inlandsflüge in den USA kosten auch weniger als in Europa.
