  • Pumping out a thousand individual glue dots sounds about as fun as smashing my finger with a hammer. So why not make it fast and easy with templates?
    The template is made of a plastic garage sale sign bought at Menards. About $.95

    Fantastic idea! I love the foil backed parchment paper. Didn't even know that existed. The sifting of the grass is a good tip. I just loved watching all the grass fly up to the paper. Oh, and your music background is nice. Great volume.

      Terranscapes the paper also works really well for catching the slop from resin casting. Doesn’t stick at all.

    Great method, looks like a better result (with regard to the grass standing up) than the hand held electric shock device, that drops the grass from above. Only suggestion I'd make is: try it using carpet tackifier instead of PVA, you end up with easy peal off, self adhesive tufts, that need no extra adhesive, and mold to the texture of whatever you are sticking them to (with a little prodding).

    • @TheTabletopSpot
      @TheTabletopSpot  8 місяців тому +1

    Your flocking box will be more powerful if you stick rubber feet on it. Else it is double earthing and losing charge through the bottom.

    Great video! Quick question, do you clip the foiled parchment paper or just hold it over between both hands? Can't see the sides of the paper well and not sure if clipping it and holding one end will cause a shock or not. Please advise, thanks.

    So ... what was the point of drawing the random dots first? A pretty but pointless pattern?
    It would have actually been a better plan to space the holes so that the glue wiping motion would fill the holes most evenly.
    But whatever.

    the paper, its a conductive paper or normal ?

    • @TheTabletopSpot
      @TheTabletopSpot  6 років тому +2

      It's aluminum foil on one side so yes, it is conductive. The larger the paper, the harder is gets to handle, so when I make a large batch, I'll clamp it so 1/4" plywood with tiny spring clamps.

    Working is too good but you are using the big tools to make it that I don't have

    • @slimjim7411
      @slimjim7411 Рік тому

      Basic tufts you can just use elmers glue, put a dot, grab a clump of grass and press it onto the dot. As the glue dries it shrinks pulling the fibers tight into each other and making them stand up. It doesn't look as good but works in a pinch. Can also use the elmers glue, and a static grass flocking wand for a better effect. However both will need to be glued to the table and won't be self adhesive. No big deal to me really as I tend to glue tufts down anyway.
