Now the other projects have come to or are nearing completion it is time to add a new car to the fleet. So I have bought a wrecked #jaguar #ftype #svr which has front end damage. Not only that parts have been stolen and also the airbags have deployed.
But it turns out that even though I knew it was in bad shape it is worse than I first anticipated...

Of course the glovebox won’t close the car is mullered. I have had Jags for years and they have been bullet proof provided you look after them. The trouble is because like many luxury cars they fall into the hands of muppets who won’t/can’t afford to maintain them then trouble starts. Just got an F Pace SVR and it’s fabulous. By the way SVR stands for Special Vehicle Rating.
Do not ruin this with a wrap have it resprayed properly 👍👍👍

@@Chris_Slix they all fit the same from memory
The GX means it's for xe,xf or f pace platform... the last letter at end is minor change revision and last but one letter can be different engine variant I think... I work with jlr exhausts and I don't think that exhaust is standard as the 575 one we make looks completely different to that.. I know janspeed make the one for svr range rover as its low numbers... Finally, one of you tubers has the balls to get a Jag! :) Ok, so the younger audience are now going "really, a jaguar, you do know they just are made from tin foil and super glue..." and although the build quality is less than optimal, they have a soul. Pace, grace and space, or something like that...

You're right the exhaust is Titanium but has inconel in it as well.
Word of advice, if push comes to shove and you do have to buy from JLR, go straight to a dealership and speak to the parts department. If you ring JLR up you will get through to Jardine and they are absolutely hopeless. Worked for the halesowen branch that covered the nations JLR and it was very short lived. Literally kids with no manners and haven’t got a clue what to do. Hope this helps, avoid the headache.

Ah Chris mate so glad you got a jag, I fucking love my xfr. As for build quality comments....I've daily drove my 60k 2014 xfr for 14 months now and nothing absolutely nothing has broken.
You will love the 5.0 lump mate, the instant torque is......addictive 😈 👿

This car has been in my eBay watch list the last few weeks. I was going to offer him what you paid too but I had a feeling the rack would be gone and after the quotes I got, plus the dashboards on these are hell to take out (I owned a V6 one 5 years ago). I was too scared in the end. I'll be picking up a non damaged one I intend to keep. Ill be watching this build with mega interest fair play good luck mate.

The first bit of the part number GX73 defines the model, the middle part of the number defines what part it is and the first of the two letter defines the speck of the part and lastly the end letter tells you what level the part is, each time the part is superseded the last letter will go up

Part numbering is prefix, base, suffix. Prefix determines the model year, base is the part type, and suffix is the derivative of part. But if a number goes from AA to AB for example, it’s down to a change which has superseded the the old part. For interior parts there will be additional letters added to the end of the suffix, for example AB8PVJ. This relates to the colour 😉
I believe the bonnet is the same as all the other AWD F-Type’s and not specific to the SVR, apart from the vents. Also, yes the exhaust is titanium.

8:15 the exhaust is SVR specific. I forget if it's titanium or inconel.
I haven't seen it in the air yet, but if you need suspension parts I'm pretty sure they're SVR specific

@Chris_Slix - you can use any AWD F type bonnet - just swap over your vents which are the Carbon SVR ones and save yourself a packet 👍🏻

Oooh I was very much undecided on whether to get one of these or the new shape M4 convertable , I went woth the 4 series but still thinking I might go for one next although I'm really wanting to go Porsche next time Mmmm maybe see how this turns out b4 I decide,, oh n defo prefer this to the Aston if I'm honest pal

The 2 letters (suffix) at the end of the part number are made up of the first letter which is for the variant, and the second letter which is the revision level FYI.
Ah wicked thank you! So what does the first letter at the start mean?
@@Chris_Slix first letter of the prefix is the model year it was introduced mate. So an earlier letter is from an older version of the car. Bear in mind some letters like I get skipped.

Most R parts will fit the SVR, as the R is the base car. Fitting 2l 4 banger parts won't work as they're basically XE parts. Parts won't be hard to get for this as Jag share so many parts between models you just need to know the range.
I hope so but the R steering racks do have a different part number but fingers crossed i can make something work!
@@Chris_Slix look at the XF R-S, XK R-S and the facelift F type R. A lot of parts shared there including most suspension. You'd be surprised the amount of cross compatability

@chris_slix the dashboards are a whole unit held in with 6 bolts 2 on top behind a vent it’ll be under a cap and 2 either side of the dash I used to fit these daily in the factory
