Love your setup man, very original! Can I offer one piece of advice? I’ve been a drummer for 25 years, 15 playing post hardcore and pop punk and then 10 playing doom, grind, pv, and progressing into extreme metal drumming. I used to sit low like you because I really liked the power I’d get out of my kick and the general feel of playing low, but I really fucked my back up because of the bad posture. If at all possible try and transition to sitting a bit higher, ideally with your hips level with or higher than your knees. It’s much better for your back because you can sit up straight more easily and none of your leg muscles are restricted. Once you get used to it your kick speed will also increase due to the added freedom in your legs.
Thanks for the input. I do sit very low, about 18". Been playing drums since birth, dad was a drummer, and I've always sat low since I got used to sitting in my little kid Throne, and couldn't reach the pedals on my dad's Drums lol. I'm in my 30s now and have no back or shoulder issues at all. My slouching in this video is mainly from literally getting off work and being exhausted but still trying to get some drumming in lol. I take a lot of inspiration in my drumming too from Tommy Aldridge, I sit about as low as him and I'm about the same height and body style, my goal is to be still going like he is in his 70s! Lol
I'm 6 foot 3 and have had to use a broken-low stool a few times, if you're near as tall as me you will have severe back issues by the end of the gig... 😂
I see a lot of Tommy Lee influence in your drumming. The kid sounds pretty good though
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for your next video! Love your drumming!!!
Love this kit🖤
glad to see more uploads!
Awesome !!!!!!!

🤘🏻🔥🥁
it's played a bit like jazz....i would play it with a lot more dynamics and volume....so that it has a chance to really cut throuh
Any reason for not using a kick pedal on your second bass drum?
I do have a Kick Pedal on the huge bass drum. I play it with my left foot for big boomy stuff
cool! lately at the kit i've set my throne to be about as low as you're sitting. it's quite comfy
Been playing like this for a few months, wait until the leg cramps set in

Raise your seat and lower your elbows.
Gonna have loads of back problems in the future-
