You OLD Man & ADV Matt sold me on this bike because I’ll be even less skilled then you guys are. And 35-55 mph city / county streets - roads - hwys & mild dirt/gravel/ 4 track / wide single track trails will be my touring / exploring easy - type adventures ! I’m a old man, too folks, so easy & fun is the name of the game.
Hello Louise, I sent this to Matt as well! More HP can be fun, but it's not (IMHO) needed. The 390 has taken me 600+ miles a day, in relative comfort, for two days and then handled all the offroad my old body wants! I am glad to hear you are enjoying yours as well. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
Rode my 390 with a buddy on his Tenere on the North Island 1000. Kept up just fine, and he dropped that top-heavy thing repeatedly where I didn't with the lighter 390.
Hello Scott, I have a bit of bias of course. But I really think that once you pass #400, lifting your bike more than a few times in a PITA. I have a 790 Adventure R, and I am OK two times, then OOF! It becomes a problem. Manufacturers are not sending mere mortals out to ride thru test bikes! If they were bikes would be lighter! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
You summed it up completely with that important phrase "it's fun". Thanks Frank!
Rob!!
@@Motoramblings Hello Patrick!
Hello Rob, these things we ride arw dangerous and expensive. If your not using them to have fun, you are doing it wrong! 😁 - Frank
I miss turns on every route I try to follow!!!
It's a track conspiracy against old men Patrick! 😂 - Frank

The nebdr and mabdr are on the list to do as well one of these days. Looks likefun.
Hello John, right over 90, hop on the top of Section 3, and ride down to the end of the MABDR in TN. Probably eight days or so. - Frank
@@OneOldManRiding sounds like a good practice run before I do my retirement trips.
I think your bike is much more well suited for that terrain than my Vstrom, but it’s what I’ve got, it’s what I use!!
Hope to do that on my TW some time this year. Although it’ll take a little longer to get to Hancock from Albany on that little thing!
Hello Matt, it's worth the trip, provided the weather is good! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
