Here is my story of how I got filled with the Holy Ghost. It was in 2012 before I came to Bethesda. It was one Sunday in 2012 I was 19 at the time. So my Late Pastor Bishop James Johnson at the time was preaching I don't know what he was preaching something but anyway as he was preaching it felt like everybody was invisible it was just me and God at the time and I was 😭 and I knew at that moment something was going to happen. So at the end of his sermon he said Does anyone want the Holy Ghost? I immediately went down to the altar without no hesitation I stepped out in faith and I believed that I was going to get the Holy Ghost that day. So I got baptized and I went back to the tarrying room in the chapel we still have a chapel till this day so anyway I went to the tarrying room and I said Thank you Jesus for maybe four or six times and I got Filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 19 or 20 I don't know but I know I got it because I was speaking in my tongues louder and louder and then I remember switching from my heavenly language to English. I didn't know that I was speaking in my heavenly language but anyway I went to my older brother Gregory jr and the Holy Spirit told me to tell him "Whatever it is let it go In Jesus Name and I want back to speaking in tongues and it calmed down. Then in 2013 was when I joined Bethesda Temple of The Apostolic Faith and Pastor Julian Johnson who is my Pastor now ask me what Happened to me and I Said i Got the Holy Ghost and I immediately started to speak In tongues again. So i just thank God for giving me this gift it's amazing. Thank you Jesus. I pray someone is inspired my testimony and I hope it blesses you and encouraged you in Jesus Name Amen.

I feel you on this one, I was baptized in Jesus name and repented, just now receiving the Holy Ghost last week after 6 months. It did not happen until I quit trying to do it on my own, and gave it to the Lord.

I was saved and baptized in the water a couple months ago. I’m in the word daily and prayer daily seeking Jesus and to be baptized in the Holy Spirit everyday. I want him so bad I can taste it lol but the devil comes at me every time it doesn’t happen. Pray for me man, I know it’s on GODs timing that it’ll happen but maybe some extra prayers will help it along and help me with the strength to keep chasing no matter how long it takes.... my gut dropped when you said that guy took 30yrs 😱lol

Devorah Tenajeros I was raised to be catholic so I grew up going to church but I wouldn’t say I believed because in the back of my mind my whole life was the “what if” God didn’t exist, so many “what if’s” but I’d say I wasn’t saved until recently this year when I actually started believing even though I’ve prayed a lot before even being saved but I was still living a sinful life so it all didn’t matter because I didn’t know for certain God was there in my life but I’m no longer a catholic now I’d like to call myself a servant of The Lord and a son. After being depressed for a while and being caught up in marijuana because of it Jesus brought me to him and I never want to go back because Jesus is all I want🙏🏼 Live for Him because he died for us
God's timing is 'already!'. Ask and He will give you the Holy Spirit in full measure.. If you have asked already, then believe that you have received him. Then act out in faith! The devil cannot stop this; he is limited to the sense realm and can do absolutely nothing to your spirit man. If you are still struggling with this, then you must be approaching it logically rather than by faith..
Every single word out of your mouth, including 2hr prayers and scriptures and trying to emulate it, EVERYTHING is my life right now. For 13 months now. Its like you took my mind and read it out loud, everything everything everything. This is mind blowing 🤯
Our story is kind of similar. I was seeking God and I unfortunately went to Islam. Then I met someone who helped me to find Jesus at a Pentecostal church. Like you I tried to tell myself I didn’t need to speak in tongues to have the Holy Spirit but I know it’s truth. I just went to the altar today and did not receive the Holy Spirit but all I can do is keep praying and fasting. I’m hoping God will bless me soon in Jesus name. I appreciated your story thank you
I need the holy ghost so bad I have faith I repented and praying and begging I'm so discourage I get anxiety in the meddle of my sleep worrying that I may die without it or the Lord comes and still don't have it and I don't know what's stopping me!! Troy Smiths you should go on a 3 day fast (no food, only water) and during those days of fasting keep pressing your prayers toward God. When we fast our spirit gets more in tune with the father. Keep seeking and asking. He will answer John 14:13-14

God used this video for me bro, in the past I’ve tried many nights to seek the Holy Spirit but just couldnt get it or feel anything. I was just looking at a video of how to receive the Holy Spirit from a sister in Christ right before this video & she was praying for the Holy Spirit to be infilled in the listeners ( mind you sadly I’ve backsliden ) so the words she was saying wasn’t hitting me as they should because of my sin so I got angry and discouraged similar to you so I went off of the video and went off of UA-cam .. so I went back on a couple of seconds later , I wanna say something moved me to type in testimonies of people getting it but I’m not sure. Anyways I have courage now from this 💯 praise God. I’m turning away

Love your testimony. Mine was completely different, so supernatural. Not what I was expecting. A little background, I suffered from anxiety for about 8 years, I was addicted to alcohol and weed, I developed depression after I had my daughter and for years I had sleep paralysis. I always wondered if someone did witchcraft on me because I never messed with the occult. Demons came to me every single night to torment me literally for about 3 years straight. It made me so angry with life and God. My mom is a born again Christian and I started to attend church with her not knowing what to expect. September 26, 2019 I had a vision early in the morning while praying to God and he gave me the holy spirit. I didn't speak tongues but my life has been transformed, I do not recognize myself anymore. I get baptized tomorrow morning and I love what I have with Jesus. I love that he isn't a fable like I thought too. Life is too painful to walk alone. This new road that I am on was extremely difficult to get here but I am here and there is hope for everyone. Keep praying and seeking and do not expect it to be easy because it's not. God bless 💜🕊

I have yet to receive the gift of tongues. I pray about it all the time. But I can confidently say that I have received the Holy Spirit. It was least expected and it happened at a maximum. Like you said, “it just came out”. Prior to that experience I was kinda like how you expressed, wanting to believe I have it, but unsure. But once I received it there was no doubt in my mind. When you receive the Holy Ghost you know. It’s the best feeling ever. I received the holy spirt a year after my baptism. Praise Jesus

It's more than just being a nice person or following The Teachings by what we understand the world to be. The world and life are not ours to understand. Then dwell in which role The Lord plays in each thought, gesture and action. It's the whole "Do unto others" and concern yourself not with the equation percieved through worldly rationale, but how The Lord used us to change what would've been left undone. But then it just came, I wish I could explain it better. I pray those who wish to receive the Holy Spirt do so🙏
I apologise for a late response but I had to comment. It took a long time for me as well but it was on my end because I allowed the spirit of doubt to manifest in my mind. Soon I got and it was very foreign but it felt amazing, I was truly amazed by what had came upon me. What I mostly struggle with now is the fear of Him taking it away. But I can say, glory to God, that He hasn't. I absolutely enjoyed your testimony and I think your heart is beautiful. Please keep it up ☺️☺️

When you said before you received the spirit your mind wonderd and you was falling asleep that really hit me as there are times I have been speaking to God about some things and like today I thi k I was talking to Holy spirit and felt tired all of a sudden and I foolishly thought maybe something good would come of me sleeping but it didn't and this isn't first time it has happened... Now when it happens nevt time I will stand up and persist in my prayer u till I am finished.

Hallelujah Glory be to God... This is my testimony... As a new convert then I also tried getting the Holy Spirit but no matter how hand was laid on me.. I didn't get it.. I was so frustrated and angry.. I remember crying that why are people falling down and manifesting but I have want this thing I have always prayed for God to use me as his vessel and I didn't get it.. and after that getting into some kind of addiction that completely drench me spiritually... But hallelujah God is faithful.. fast forward to last year.. God brought me back to him re igniting my passion for him.. and I was praying one day... For sometimes the devil will make me feel like I'm just speaking rubbish because even when trying to speak in tongues I'm fully aware and sometimes I'm like what???.. but brethren God is faithful he said in is word that blessed are those who want to obey God more than to eat and drink he said they will be giving what they want.. I was praying that day and I began to speak like never before it comes on it own flowing but the flowing was silent very silent that I can only flow in speaking in tongues withing me.. then I began to speak as the spirit leads and to God's Glory I was speaking in tongues fluently with no condonation from the devil because I felt it... Glory be to God and it pays to wait on God... Feeling can be deceptive it not compulsory the Holy Ghost comes by a mighty rushing winds.. like I use to pray then.. now I'm trusting God for full manifestation of the Holy Spirit and not just speaking in tongues. I want everything the spirit of God as to offer

yes sometimes we have to press in and ask god for the gifts of the spirit. i was praying and said to my self :"i geuss its not gonna happen" so getting ready to stand up in my room suddenly started to speak in tongues and cried cause the scriptures just happened to me.

I experienced to be possessed by the Holy Spirit twice, whatever it was I know from my heart it was the Holy Spirit! Because I was praying sincerely and fully dependent on GOD at that time around 4 in the morning. When I was at the verge of my prayer the word/s coming out from my mouth suddenly kept on repeating and it became faster and faster I was aware I was speaking that way but I have no control over my body. And then a sudden flash came in before my eyes and I realized I was not speaking from my mind but from my soul and spirit like I don't have to think a word to say that my mouth kept on speaking and speaking from what my spirit has to say.What amazes me experiencing the Holy Spirit was my physical body being thrown around like I was being swayed by the wind until I completely laid on the floor, I was keeping on praising our GOD, thanking HIM, confessing and admitting my sins to forgive me. I felt my spirit was crying because of so much joy and longingly to be in the presence of GOD like I was ready to get there in heaven.
I want to give a testimony if I can. So I originally got baptized when I was 18 or 19 and I think that I maybe got the Holy Spirit not long after but I questioned it. Sometimes I would believe I did other times I didn't. The pastor at the church I was attending at the time said I did though. I remember what happened and a few words came out in tongues I believe but just a few. Like did I really or did I not. I never spoke in tongues again. I fell out of the Pentecostal church I went to also not long after all this. Probably within a few years after. I guess I pretty much backslid for quite a few years. Over the last couple years of my life I really started questioning my salvation. Was I ever really saved. Did I ever get the Holy Spirit. That God was just like this angry tyrant and that I should be scared of Him. Anxiety about being struck down by God at any second. I know now this was being used to draw me closer to Him though now. I had some health scares and the death of my grandmother really put me into a bad place too. And I think it's about this time it all started to come together. There was many other times in the past that I would ask God to let me speak in tongues but nothing would ever happen. I did get pretty down about this. I also did start believing the same about a changed life is the sign of the Holy Spirit that some people believe as well. I recently probably withing the last 3ish maybe 4 years really started praying more and started reading the Bible more. Not as much as I should but I did start. I asked God to let me speak in tongues again during this time but nothing happened. I came across this video one night and watched it. This was also a night I started going into a bad place mentally. I went into my closet (literally) and started praying and I asked God to send the gift of the Holy Spirit to me and I was opening my heart and mind. I really don't know how everything works and I believe that is the mystery of God but I told Him to come in please. I was determined to just pray and ask for this. I don't know how long it was but probably about less than an hour and the Holy Spirit did come on me and I spoke in tongues like for real no doubting tongues. Never a shred of doubt again. I guess I just really let go that night and He gave me the gift He promised. There were times while I was praying before the tongues happened that I felt like stopping praying or maybe starting to wind it up but something keep telling me keep going and I did and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit and I did speak in tongues. He keeps His promises. I thank God so much that He did this in me. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind anymore and I want to keep growing and maturing in Him.
What a testimony I know one thing sometimes it's hard to get in contact with Jesus not everyone is gonna catch the holy ghost right away sometime's that person haft to go through some things in order to get the holy ghost but the more you pray the more something will happen and some people may get the holy ghost in another way call you haft to do this or that and you'll get it but there is a holy ghost in prayer waiting to happen i do believe that

Jen daughter do you have a desire to want to Live right ? If you do you are born again also if you find yourself not wanting too engage in ur pervious sinful acts or lifestyle...if the answer is no your are born again and you have Holy Ghost residing in you..listen the more you desire God the more realistate the Holy Ghost is Gonna lock down in your heart..when you talk to God simple say God have your way in my heart ,the more you surrender to Him the more He manifest Himself in your heart and the more your willing to want to be controlled by Him,speaking in,tongues is 1 of the gifts of the Spirit,if God wants to manisfest Himself in that way thru you ..amen if not amen ..you are still born again because you have the desire to still want to please God .. When temptation comes do you here a voice saying dont do that? The Spirit of God is talking to your conscience so you dont yield to sin Hes not going to make you not sin, He wants you to choose not to yield to sin ,God will not take free will of the table what you choose He leaves it up to you..,,,the word of God says blessed is the man the endureth temptation..read 1 cort 12 starting at v 4..talks about diffrent gifts of the Spirit..the evidence of having the Holy Ghost is when you dont have the desire for sin in your life anymore...you desire a clean break from sin,with repentence in your heart this is the evidence of being born again.
Denver auston The Bible says all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproduction, correction and instruction in righteousness... The Bible says when we are born again we are able to see the kingdom of God (John 3:3) and able also to hear Gods words (John 8:47) and by reading Gods words and actually being able to perceive them, we understand our sinful state and then we desire to live right.. Amen to what you said concerning that because the scriptures agree.. I will tell you this though, speaking in another tongue and prophesying is the initial evidence when someone receives the Holy Ghost, that is what happened in the Old Testament when the spirit of God came upon the prophets and when the New Testament began, they spake in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4) the “gift of tongues” is also a gift that God gives severally to whom he will (in the church) but it is not that same manner of tongues as when someone receives the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Denver auston Amen thank you so much, I will continue to press on in my walk with the Lord and yes I have stopped living the was i used to, God took the desires away, lately I have been having dreams of Jesus return, one of which seemed more of a vision than a dream, it was as it was actually taking place hard to explain, my there is a fire in my heart Jesus is coming soon, last night I dream of what 2 Thessalonians 2 looks like I had to google parts of what I saw and this scripture came up!! In my dream people were deceived with magic and miracles then I saw the face of Harry Potter up on the sky formed of clouds (weird I know) I began to tell my kids and my husband to back off because that wasn’t of God and we walked away, next thing you know pieces of glass were stabbing people! They were so mesmerized with all this signs that they didn’t realize it was not of God. So sad so many people turning away and hardening their heart to Jesus.
Praise god🙌🏼 I recently got baptized in the name Jesus of Nazareth but I have yet to receive the Holy Spirit. This testimony gave me more hope that I will be filled thank you!!
Thanks Bro, this has really motivated me. I also thought hands must be laid on for someone to receive. I live in Germany and here people don’t really believe in the baptism of the holyspirit and speaking in tongues.

I’ve allowed men’s doctrines to taint my view of receiving the Holy Spirit. It feels like I’ve made it complicated now. There’s a fear of receiving the kundalini spirit attached to this. I know for a fact that the Holy Spirit is real. He will fix me. I have to become like a child again though. I want the Holy Spirit! 🙌🏽 I’ve been seeking since I’m as a child, but I was fearful. You have a peace surrounding you. I don’t just want to speak in tongues. I don’t want to show off. What I desire most is to have the character of Christ and to have the fruit of the spirit. Also, I’m excited though. “To everyone that knocketh receiveth”. Amen.

Really? I’m at a place where I envy people who have the lord’s spirit. I’m having trouble with doubting and trusting God. I see all of this wickedness going on and I know that Jesus is coming back soon. I panic because I know I need his spirit, but it’s been about 12 years and I still didn’t get the spirit of the lord. I’m 19 now. 😕 I’m going to keep seeking though.
@Child You don’t have to envy. That is a distraction and energy wasted on the wrong thing. I understand what you are saying though. You hunger and thirst after righteousness and want to be filled *(Matthew 5:6)* well God wants to fill you too! Keep telling Him that you are hungry and thirsty for Him and He will fill you with His Spirit. He’s your God too!

Thanks for sharing this brother.. And concluding on the most important aspect of this which is 'faith'. Faith doesn't wait for feelings. When we walk by faith, we act in accordance to what we believe. No one who is a believer now received a physical manifestation when they became born again (perhaps with a few exceptions); No angel showed up with an ID card saying 'born-again'; there was no chorus of the heavenly hosts singing hallelujahs physically heard; one couldn't even see the process of the Sin nature being changed for the nature of God.. Yet we all believed_ instantly_. We received our salvation by *once* by faith.. So its a marvel that most would expect the in filling of the Holy Spirit to be different; that one would insist on feeling something. Then it is no longer by faith but by feelings. When I got the infilling of the Holy Spirit, the person who prayed for me asked me to open my mouth and speak; that the Holy Spirit won't do it for me. I obeyed; even if it felt like I was the one making it up and it felt extremely awkward, I just did it. However, as I continued later and on my own, I started feeling the presence of God.. sometimes so tangibly like someone was physically there.. at other times, I would be reading the scripture and I would just feel the rush or flow from my belly to burst into tongues.. *This was the evidence that I received it*; but it came after the foolishness and awkwardness of acting in faith. Scripture says that when we speak in tongues, our minds are unfruitful; that means you don't understand what you are saying as the Holy Spirit gives utterance _to your spirit_ to pray. So it is a mind by-pass which is why at the instance of being prayed for to receive the Holy Spirit or when one asks for it directly from God (can happen either way), one needs to ignore the discomfort of the mind which insists on making sense of everything and just speak in faith. The evidence will come later but the faith act must be first. I am not trying to take away from this testimony shared by our brother, but one does not need to go years searching for the in filling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues especially after being prayed for several times. It is the same God who instantly saved you when you become born again so why would He delay when you ask for the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues. I believe that from the very first prayer, he was already filled but probably was taught to expect to feel something. I didn't feel anything at first but later I got the evidence after acting out in faith. I believe this is the proper way to go about it.

I agreed with you 100% by that which you have spoken in truth according to the scriptures...But in the last paragraph you said that God saves someone instantly when they are born again, which is not true. According to Jesus Christ in John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” when we are born again (by the word of God) 1peter 1:23, we are able to see the kingdom of God, and hear Gods words John 8:47... The way to enter into the kingdom of God is to be born of water and spirit, this is how we’re saved from the power of sin and if we continue in Him, we shall be saved from the wrath of God. Regarding your correction, I see what you are saying but it takes away from the simplicity of the gospel in my view. Rom 10:8-13 talks about believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth _to be saved_. Verse 13 explicitly states that anyone who calls on the name of the Lord _will be saved_. John __3:16__ says those who believe in him _will not_ perish but *have eternal life*. Vrs 18 of the same chapter says those who believe **_will not be judged_. John _**_5:24_**_ who ever hears my word and believes _shall not be judged_** .Eph 2:8 for we are saved _by grace through faith_.. Rom 5:9 .. because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we will never experience God's wrath (or NIV translations says *how much more* shall we be saved from God's wrath..). etc This way (believe and be saved) focuses solely on the extravagantly rich Grace of God and takes our focus off ourselves unto our savior.. It happens immediately one believes and confesses what his heart believes. Being born of water and the Spirit is the spiritual work done by the Holy Spirit for for those who believe and not by us. It is an immediate work. Anyway, I do not wish to drag this out but I hope the scriptures I shared above speak for themselves. Several of them coming directly from Jesus himself and he only said what he heard his (and our) Father say. The Just (righteous) living by faith means our Christian walk is one of perpetual and total trust in the Holy Spirit from start to finish.. God bless you bro.

Here is my story of how I got filled with the Holy Ghost. It was in 2012 before I came to Bethesda. It was one Sunday in 2012 I was 19 at the time. So my Late Pastor Bishop James Johnson at the time was preaching I don't know what he was preaching something but anyway as he was preaching it felt like everybody was invisible it was just me and God at the time and I was 😭 and I knew at that moment something was going to happen. So at the end of his sermon he said Does anyone want the Holy Ghost? I immediately went down to the altar without no hesitation I stepped out in faith and I believed that I was going to get the Holy Ghost that day. So I got baptized and I went back to the tarrying room in the chapel we still have a chapel till this day so anyway I went to the tarrying room and I said Thank you Jesus for maybe four or six times and I got Filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 19 or 20 I don't know but I know I got it because I was speaking in my tongues louder and louder and then I remember switching from my heavenly language to English. I didn't know that I was speaking in my heavenly language but anyway I went to my older brother Gregory jr and the Holy Spirit told me to tell him "Whatever it is let it go In Jesus Name and I want back to speaking in tongues and it calmed down. Then in 2013 was when I joined Bethesda Temple of The Apostolic Faith and Pastor Julian Johnson who is my Pastor now ask me what Happened to me and I Said i Got the Holy Ghost and I immediately started to speak In tongues again. So i just thank God for giving me this gift it's amazing. Thank you Jesus. I pray someone is inspired my testimony and I hope it blesses you and encouraged you in Jesus Name Amen.

I was saved and baptized in the water a couple months ago. I’m in the word daily and prayer daily seeking Jesus and to be baptized in the Holy Spirit everyday. I want him so bad I can taste it lol but the devil comes at me every time it doesn’t happen. Devorah Tenajeros I was raised to be catholic so I grew up going to church but I wouldn’t say I believed because in the back of my mind my whole life was the “what if” God didn’t exist, so many “what if’s” but I’d say I wasn’t saved until recently this year when I actually started believing even though I’ve prayed a lot before even being saved but I was still living a sinful life so it all didn’t matter because I didn’t know for certain God was there in my life but I’m no longer a catholic now I’d like to call myself a servant of The Lord and a son. After being depressed for a while and being caught up in marijuana because of it Jesus brought me to him and I never want to go back because Jesus is all I want🙏🏼 Live for Him because he died for us

God's timing is 'already!'. Ask and He will give you the Holy Spirit in full measure.. If you have asked already, then believe that you have received him. Then act out in faith! The devil cannot stop this; he is limited to the sense realm and can do absolutely nothing to your spirit man. Our story is kind of similar. I was seeking God and I unfortunately went to Islam. Then I met someone who helped me to find Jesus at a Pentecostal church. Like you I tried to tell myself I didn’t need to speak in tongues to have the Holy Spirit but I know it’s truth. I just went to the altar today and did not receive the Holy Spirit but all I can do is keep praying and fasting. I’m hoping God will bless me soon in Jesus name. I appreciated your story thank you

God used this video for me bro, in the past I’ve tried many nights to seek the Holy Spirit but just couldnt get it or feel anything. I was just looking at a video of how to receive the Holy Spirit from a sister in Christ right before this video & she was praying for the Holy Spirit to be infilled in the listeners ( mind you sadly I’ve backsliden ) so the words she was saying wasn’t hitting me as they should because of my sin so I got angry and discouraged similar to you so I went off of the video and went off of UA-cam .. so I went back on a couple of seconds later , I wanna say something moved me to type in testimonies of people getting it but I’m not sure. Anyways I have courage now from this 💯 praise God. I’m turning away

Love your testimony. Mine was completely different, so supernatural. Not what I was expecting. A little background, I suffered from anxiety for about 8 years, I was addicted to alcohol and weed, I developed depression after I had my daughter and for years I had sleep paralysis. I always wondered if someone did witchcraft on me because I never messed with the occult. Demons came to me every single night to torment me literally for about 3 years straight. It made me so angry with life and God. My mom is a born again Christian and I started to attend church with her not knowing what to expect. September 26, 2019 I had a vision early in the morning while praying to God and he gave me the holy spirit. I didn't speak tongues but my life has been transformed, I do not recognize myself anymore. I get baptized tomorrow morning and I love what I have with Jesus. I love that he isn't a fable like I thought too. Life is too painful to walk alone. This new road that I am on was extremely difficult to get here but I am here and there is hope for everyone. Keep praying and seeking and do not expect it to be easy because it's not. God bless 💜🕊

I have yet to receive the gift of tongues. I pray about it all the time. But I can confidently say that I have received the Holy Spirit. It was least expected and it happened at a maximum. Like you said, “it just came out”. Prior to that experience I was kinda like how you expressed, wanting to believe I have it, but unsure.
But once I received it there was no doubt in my mind. When you receive the Holy Ghost you know. It’s the best feeling ever. I received the holy spirt a year after my baptism. Praise Jesus

It's more than just being a nice person or following The Teachings by what we understand the world to be. The world and life are not ours to understand. Then dwell in which role The Lord plays in each thought, gesture and action. It's the whole "Do unto others" and concern yourself not with the equation percieved through worldly rationale, but how The Lord used us to change what would've been left undone. This video was very uplifting. Thanks for posting 🙏 A similar situation happened to me. So after a while I just got discouraged, and just began to believe that I have the Holy Spirit already. But then it just came, I wish I could explain it better. I pray those who wish to receive the Holy Spirt do so🙏

I apologise for a late response but I had to comment. It took a long time for me as well but it was on my end because I allowed the spirit of doubt to manifest in my mind. Soon I got and it was very foreign but it felt amazing, I was truly amazed by what had came upon me. What I mostly struggle with now is the fear of Him taking it away. But I can say, glory to God, that He hasn't. I absolutely enjoyed your testimony and I think your heart is beautiful. Please keep it up ☺️☺️

When you said before you received the spirit your mind wonderd and you was falling asleep that really hit me as there are times I have been speaking to God about some things and like today I thi k I was talking to Holy spirit and felt tired all of a sudden and I foolishly thought maybe something good would come of me sleeping but it didn't and this isn't first time it has happened... Now when it happens nevt time I will stand up and persist in my prayer u till I am finished.

This is my testimony... As a new convert then I also tried getting the Holy Spirit but no matter how hand was laid on me.. I didn't get it.. I was so frustrated and angry.. I remember crying that why are people falling down and manifesting but I have want this thing I have always prayed for God to use me as his vessel and I didn't get it.. and after that getting into some kind of addiction that completely drench me spiritually...
But hallelujah God is faithful.. fast forward to last year.. God brought me back to him re igniting my passion for him.. and I was praying one day... For sometimes the devil will make me feel like I'm just speaking rubbish because even when trying to speak in tongues I'm fully aware and sometimes I'm like what???.. but brethren God is faithful he said in is word that blessed are those who want to obey God more than to eat and drink he said they will be giving what they want.. I was praying that day and I began to speak like never before it comes on it own flowing but the flowing was silent very silent that I can only flow in speaking in tongues withing me.. then I began to speak as the spirit leads and to God's Glory I was speaking in tongues fluently with no condonation from the devil because I felt it... Glory be to God and it pays to wait on God...
Feeling can be deceptive it not compulsory the Holy Ghost comes by a mighty rushing winds.. like I use to pray then.. now I'm trusting God for full manifestation of the Holy Spirit and not just speaking in tongues. I want everything the spirit of God as to offer

yes sometimes we have to press in and ask god for the gifts of the spirit. i was praying and said to my self :"i geuss its not gonna happen" so getting ready to stand up in my room suddenly started to speak in tongues and cried cause the scriptures just happened to me.

I experienced to be possessed by the Holy Spirit twice, whatever it was I know from my heart it was the Holy Spirit! Because I was praying sincerely and fully dependent on GOD at that time around 4 in the morning. When I was at the verge of my prayer the word/s coming out from my mouth suddenly kept on repeating and it became faster and faster I was aware I was speaking that way but I have no control over my body. And then a sudden flash came in before my eyes and I realized I was not speaking from my mind but from my soul and spirit like I don't have to think a word to say that my mouth kept on speaking and speaking from what my spirit has to say.What amazes me experiencing the Holy Spirit was my physical body being thrown around like I was being swayed by the wind until I completely laid on the floor, I was keeping on praising our GOD, thanking HIM, confessing and admitting my sins to forgive me. I felt my spirit was crying because of so much joy and longingly to be in the presence of GOD like I was ready to get there in heaven.
I had the same story! And I received it at home one day in prayer hahaha!
I want to give a testimony if I can. So I originally got baptized when I was 18 or 19 and I think that I maybe got the Holy Spirit not long after but I questioned it. Sometimes I would believe I did other times I didn't. The pastor at the church I was attending at the time said I did though. I remember what happened and a few words came out in tongues I believe but just a few. Like did I really or did I not. I never spoke in tongues again. I fell out of the Pentecostal church I went to also not long after all this. Probably within a few years after. I guess I pretty much backslid for quite a few years. Over the last couple years of my life I really started questioning my salvation. Was I ever really saved. Did I ever get the Holy Spirit. That God was just like this angry tyrant and that I should be scared of Him. Anxiety about being struck down by God at any second. I know now this was being used to draw me closer to Him though now. I had some health scares and the death of my grandmother really put me into a bad place too. And I think it's about this time it all started to come together. There was many other times in the past that I would ask God to let me speak in tongues but nothing would ever happen. I did get pretty down about this. I also did start believing the same about a changed life is the sign of the Holy Spirit that some people believe as well. I recently probably withing the last 3ish maybe 4 years really started praying more and started reading the Bible more. Not as much as I should but I did start. I asked God to let me speak in tongues again during this time but nothing happened. I came across this video one night and watched it. This was also a night I started going into a bad place mentally. I went into my closet (literally) and started praying and I asked God to send the gift of the Holy Spirit to me and I was opening my heart and mind. I really don't know how everything works and I believe that is the mystery of God but I told Him to come in please. I was determined to just pray and ask for this. I don't know how long it was but probably about less than an hour and the Holy Spirit did come on me and I spoke in tongues like for real no doubting tongues. Never a shred of doubt again. I guess I just really let go that night and He gave me the gift He promised. There were times while I was praying before the tongues happened that I felt like stopping praying or maybe starting to wind it up but something keep telling me keep going and I did and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit and I did speak in tongues. He keeps His promises. I thank God so much that He did this in me. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind anymore and I want to keep growing and maturing in Him.
What a testimony I know one thing sometimes it's hard to get in contact with Jesus not everyone is gonna catch the holy ghost right away sometime's that person haft to go through some things in order to get the holy ghost but the more you pray the more something will happen and some people may get the holy ghost in another way call you haft to do this or that and you'll get it but there is a holy ghost in prayer waiting to happen i do believe that

If you do you are born again also if you find yourself not wanting too engage in ur pervious sinful acts or lifestyle...if the answer is no your are born again and you have Holy Ghost residing in you..listen the more you desire God the more realistate the Holy Ghost is Gonna lock down in your heart..when you talk to God simple say God have your way in my heart ,the more you surrender to Him the more He manifest Himself in your heart and the more your willing to want to be controlled by Him,speaking in,tongues is 1 of the gifts of the Spirit,if God wants to manisfest Himself in that way thru you ..amen if not amen ..you are still born again because you have the desire to still want to please God .. When temptation comes do you here a voice saying dont do that? The Spirit of God is talking to your conscience so you dont yield to sin Hes not going to make you not sin, He wants you to choose not to yield to sin ,God will not take free will of the table what you choose He leaves it up to you..,,,the word of God says blessed is the man the endureth temptation..read 1 cort 12 starting at v 4..talks about diffrent gifts of the Spirit..the evidence of having the Holy Ghost is when you dont have the desire for sin in your life anymore...you desire a clean break from sin,with repentence in your heart this is the evidence of being born again.
Denver auston The Bible says all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproduction, correction and instruction in righteousness... The Bible says when we are born again we are able to see the kingdom of God (John 3:3) and able also to hear Gods words (John 8:47) and by reading Gods words and actually being able to perceive them, we understand our sinful state and then we desire to live right.. Amen to what you said concerning that because the scriptures agree.. I will tell you this though, speaking in another tongue and prophesying is the initial evidence when someone receives the Holy Ghost, that is what happened in the Old Testament when the spirit of God came upon the prophets and when the New Testament began, they spake in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4) the “gift of tongues” is also a gift that God gives severally to whom he will (in the church) but it is not that same manner of tongues as when someone receives the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Denver auston Amen thank you so much, I will continue to press on in my walk with the Lord and yes I have stopped living the was i used to, God took the desires away, lately I have been having dreams of Jesus return, one of which seemed more of a vision than a dream, it was as it was actually taking place hard to explain, my there is a fire in my heart Jesus is coming soon, last night I dream of what 2 Thessalonians 2 looks like I had to google parts of what I saw and this scripture came up!! In my dream people were deceived with magic and miracles then I saw the face of Harry Potter up on the sky formed of clouds (weird I know) I began to tell my kids and my husband to back off because that wasn’t of God and we walked away, next thing you know pieces of glass were stabbing people! They were so mesmerized with all this signs that they didn’t realize it was not of God. So sad so many people turning away and hardening their heart to Jesus.

I’ve allowed men’s doctrines to taint my view of receiving the Holy Spirit. It feels like I’ve made it complicated now. There’s a fear of receiving the kundalini spirit attached to this. I know for a fact that the Holy Spirit is real. He will fix me. I have to become like a child again though. I want the Holy Spirit! 🙌🏽

Really? I’m at a place where I envy people who have the lord’s spirit. I’m having trouble with doubting and trusting God. I see all of this wickedness going on and I know that Jesus is coming back soon. I panic because I know I need his spirit, but it’s been about 12 years and I still didn’t get the spirit of the lord. I’m 19 now. 😕 I’m going to keep seeking though.
@Child You don’t have to envy. That is a distraction and energy wasted on the wrong thing. I understand what you are saying though. You hunger and thirst after righteousness and want to be filled *(Matthew 5:6)* well God wants to fill you too! Thanks for sharing this brother.. And concluding on the most important aspect of this which is 'faith'. Faith doesn't wait for feelings. When we walk by faith, we act in accordance to what we believe. No one who is a believer now received a physical manifestation when they became born again (perhaps with a few exceptions); No angel showed up with an ID card saying 'born-again'; there was no chorus of the heavenly hosts singing hallelujahs physically heard; one couldn't even see the process of the Sin nature being changed for the nature of God.. Yet we all believed_ instantly_. We received our salvation by *once* by faith..
So its a marvel that most would expect the in filling of the Holy Spirit to be different; that one would insist on feeling something. Then it is no longer by faith but by feelings. When I got the infilling of the Holy Spirit, the person who prayed for me asked me to open my mouth and speak; that the Holy Spirit won't do it for me. I obeyed; even if it felt like I was the one making it up and it felt extremely awkward, I just did it. However, as I continued later and on my own, I started feeling the presence of God.. sometimes so tangibly like someone was physically there.. at other times, I would be reading the scripture and I would just feel the rush or flow from my belly to burst into tongues.. *This was the evidence that I received it*; but it came after the foolishness and awkwardness of acting in faith.
Scripture says that when we speak in tongues, our minds are unfruitful; that means you don't understand what you are saying as the Holy Spirit gives utterance _to your spirit_ to pray. So it is a mind by-pass which is why at the instance of being prayed for to receive the Holy Spirit or when one asks for it directly from God (can happen either way), one needs to ignore the discomfort of the mind which insists on making sense of everything and just speak in faith. The evidence will come later but the faith act must be first.
I am not trying to take away from this testimony shared by our brother, but one does not need to go years searching for the in filling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues especially after being prayed for several times. It is the same God who instantly saved you when you become born again so why would He delay when you ask for the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues. I believe that from the very first prayer, he was already filled but probably was taught to expect to feel something. I didn't feel anything at first but later I got the evidence after acting out in faith.
I believe this is the proper way to go about it.

I agreed with you 100% by that which you have spoken in truth according to the scriptures...But in the last paragraph you said that God saves someone instantly when they are born again, which is not true.
According to Jesus Christ in John 3:3
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
when we are born again (by the word of God) 1peter 1:23, we are able to see the kingdom of God, and hear Gods words John 8:47...
The way to enter into the kingdom of God is to be born of water and spirit, this is how we’re saved from the power of sin and if we continue in Him, we shall be saved from the wrath of God.

Rom 10:8-13 talks about believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth _to be saved_. Verse 13 explicitly states that anyone who calls on the name of the Lord _will be saved_. John __3:16__ says those who believe in him _will not_ perish but *have eternal life*. Vrs 18 of the same chapter says those who believe **_will not be judged_. John _**_5:24_**_ who ever hears my word and believes _shall not be judged_** .Eph 2:8 for we are saved _by grace through faith_.. Rom 5:9 .. because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we will never experience God's wrath (or NIV translations says *how much more* shall we be saved from God's wrath..). etc
This way (believe and be saved) focuses solely on the extravagantly rich Grace of God and takes our focus off ourselves unto our savior.. It happens immediately one believes and confesses what his heart believes. Being born of water and the Spirit is the spiritual work done by the Holy Spirit for for those who believe and not by us. It is an immediate work.
Anyway, I do not wish to drag this out but I hope the scriptures I shared above speak for themselves. Several of them coming directly from Jesus himself and he only said what he heard his (and our) Father say. The Just (righteous) living by faith means our Christian walk is one of perpetual and total trust in the Holy Spirit from start to finish..

And are walking in Him, To those were letters of the New Testament written, not to “believers” who have not obeyed the gospel.
We which are saved, we must confess the lord Jesus to others and believe in our heart that God hath raised him from the dead, for how shall they hear without a preacher? And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain..

Rom 10:1 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they _may be saved_. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they _did not know the righteousness of God_ and sought to _establish their own_, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
So further down this chapter (vrs 9), Paul explains the proper way for all to be saved as against what his Jewish brethren were doing.

Also there is no distinction in salvation. It is the same for all whether they are Jew or Gentile:
Gal 3:28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile,[o] slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. - This means there isn't one kind of salvation for one group and a different for another group.
Vrs 22 of the same chapter says: But the Scriptures declare that we are *all* (Jews and Gentile sinners alike) prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by _believing in Jesus Christ_.

Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household. - Paul and Silas in response to a Gentile sinner (their jailer) who asked how to be saved. It can't get more explicit than this.

In John 3:16, Jesus is referring to the whole world not to Israel alone; please see my highlights:
For God so loved *the world* that he gave his one and only Son, that *whoever believes in him* shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into *the world* to condemn the world, but to _save the world_ through him. 18 *Whoever believes in him* is not condemned, but *whoever* _does not believe_ stands condemned already because they _have not believed_ in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Also in John 5:24 Very truly I tell you (referring to his Jewish disciples), *whoever* (referring to the world) hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
Apostle John also got this understanding when he explained in the opening of his book:
John 1:9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into *the world*. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to _all who did receive him_, to those _who believed in his name_, he gave the right to become children of God
Again here, you see the reference is to 'all' not just Israel.

Luke 5:20 When Jesus _saw their faith_, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven. - Jesus forgave the sins of the paralyzed man who had not confessed to him but only showed faith in him. His faith and that of his friends was enough to get him the 'forgiveness of sins' and a full miracle. The same applies to us today; those who believe in Christ Jesus will receive forgiveness of sins.

Brother, I repeat that the gospel is simple and we are supposed to receive it and preach it in its simplicity; not make it convoluted. If Jesus was angry at the religious leaders of his day for using the laws of Moses to put a heavy burden on their fellow Jews (Luke 11:46), how much more angry will he be if one does the same thing with the Salvation he purchased for all through his blood.

The answer to your question is in the scriptures, the son of God received his name by inheritance (Hebrews 1:4) He manifested his fathers name (John 17:6)
If you believe the Word of God (KJV in English) The name Jesus Christ is the name above all names that are named, and there is none other name given among men whereby we must be saved than the name of Jesus.
