I live here and would drive to fox woods just cus springfield, where I live has the worst casino and will probably be gone I a yr or more
So funny cuz I know the food is garbage everywhere even walburgurs are overrated and price
I was there twice within the last 3 months and did not experience any issues with security. Last time we were there, I had a beer in my hand and I wanted to go off the casino floor to go the restroom. I asked the guard at the entrance if I could take the beer off the floor and he said, "Sure, no problem." No ID check, no hassle, nothing. As far as the food goes, we don't eat at the restaurants. We typically eat at the South End Market food court. The food there is not bad - not great, but not bad. The cookies at the seafood place are really good and a good value. I believe we ate once at TAP, but that was pre-COVID. I can't remember whether it was any good. The rooms ARE great. The used to have a little Starbucks one-cup coffee station in one of the alcoves on one of the floors, but they took that out. I enjoy sitting at the long bar and playing video poker. You drink for free if you are playing and the servers are super nice. The only problem is, the spots are usually all taken unless you get there early. It's pretty clean. I'm not crazy about having to leave the floor to go to the restroom (there is a wrought-iron sort of railing around the casino floor, so you have to enter the floor through one of the breaks in the railing along the way).
If ever decide to give mgm another chance next time go outside and across the way to red rose if want Italian food far better then costa

I agree Gaffney. Red Rose is THE restaurant in the area. Very casual typical italian restaurant but great service. It’s one of the most popular restaurants in Springfield… but, it is not part of MGM. Macho Taco is garbage.
Nice video!! I’m visiting later this week. Guess I shouldn’t expect much. I’m from Vegas and love visiting the casinos around the US for a feel of home, but sounds like this casino is nothing like home.
Next time you want to go to Red Rose. It has the best Itialian food in the area. It is located just outside the MGM Plaza. Stay away from Noodles. I won't get into the details, but I had a really bad experience with the Mongolian Beef.
Chandlers will cost you an arm, leg and foot.

One of reasons they are tough with security is because they got caught having minors on the casino floor. Ther also fights in the casino. If your looking for a nice casino try Oxfords Casinio in Oxford Maine. I never stayed at the hotel,but the casino is nice and the oxford pub has the best Angus burger and fries i have ever had. It's almost worth the trip from Springfield to Oxford just for the burger;)
The casino is built in a very bad area of Springfield that’s why security is the way they are. Too much riff raff in that part of town. The casino isn’t worth going to if you compare it to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.

I enjoyed Bill's Diner & Macho Taco
I also experienced where i was charged a late fee and deposit. I was short and had to wait til the morning to transfer money from my savings and approve my transfer. I asked if i can do a late stay and they barely wanted to and i was up in the casino for nearly twelve hours. I ended up going to the gas station and getting premade breakfast and lunch when i checked out since the spa was closed. Omg the pool vibe was nice and I personally loved the lobby.
I’ve been to MGM, Springfield, and I find it to be a very nice casino nice hotel I had a great time and I recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy themselves.
I had planned a trip tomorrow to Mohegan Sun, but being older now and it costs more to drive from the Berkshires, I'm thinking about MGM Springfield. I was there twice when it opened. Lost big and went home and cut up my card. Now I'll start all over again. keep you posted,
Some security are freindly and some workers but there alot on night shift or afternoon shift that will look at you with bad intention horibel feeling

I saw the red rose and was tempted but I already ate when I realized it was there 😅
I know it's an older video but this is my wife's home City and all I can say, it sounds like Springfield don't expect too much from it. We talked about going to MGM but I think you changed my mind lol We do have family up that way so we'd have a place to stay and I sure wouldn't eat there now. I Might go there just for the casino, and that is "Might Go There" I'll go to Foxwoods, Twin River, or Newport first.

This isn’t exactly a spot on review. I love 20 mins from it. If you enjoy a smaller casino it feels brand new inside. Always switching new slot games, nice drink service(if your into drinking), the security isn’t the best but not really that invasive like he mentioned just doing the job, Taps is the goto spot. Or if you aren’t from the area, Red Rose is literally right outside across from that castle looking building. Such good Italian food. Been there for over 30+ years local favorite in Western Ma area. His hotel review is nice. I agree costa sucks you shouldn’t experience any bad food at casinos but if you don’t live far far away it’s a nice day trip or to spend a night
Dude I live in Springfield, do what I do…, I go to FoxWoods! Much much much better!
I go to MGM as its only 30 min from me.. they never checked my ID.. I agree with the food options..BAD! but the tap sports bar is the best place to go..im a regular at foxwoods they comp me free rooms...

Springfield MGM is only 15 minutes from my house so if I just wanna play a little BJ I’ll go there. But if I’m thinking of a trip or staying a night somewhere, I’m 100% going to Foxwoods or Mohegan, or even Encore in Boston lol
Seems Springfield agrees with you. They're looking to sell the casino. Red Rose Pizza aside, wasn't exactly the brightest idea to build it without modernizing the surrounding the infrastructure and gentrifying it first.
We ran into the exact scenario…its a revenue producer for sure…as you know $50 to some is like $5 to me and I would do it for $5…nice casino though. We come from Vermont about 2-1/2 hrs away..very rural and a semi culture shock!
I know your not local to here but man didn’t even goto the legendary Red Rose… right next to Mgm. Little known fact it’s owned by the Caputo family Mgm tried offering multi million dollar offer to keep in the family. Loce that they didn’t sell. Man you also gotta just goto taps sport bar they have good food. Maybe it was closed when you went. But their foods good. But man RED ROSE!

Should have ate at Red Rose across the street, bro... Ask the locals. The area is fine as long as you're street smart. Things happen out that way, but it's usually targeted...
How come i played on roulette i gave my id they supposed to just ugrade everything on your players card but besides the point 👉 when i played in roulette i put it on red and they switched my bet to black ⚫️ then i switched it back to red and they talk to u n play you in your face
They put in springfield in a bad part of town and the only good thing is its right by the highway!! Theres a movie theater but everything in the casino to eat at is very expensive!! They have free drinks and coffee and soda! Its not very big and they tried to keep it quiet about a guy getting shot to death by the police when he got in a fight at a craps table at 2 in the morning after he ran out of the casino!! If you dont mind driving a little bit foxwoods and mohegan sun offer more and then theres twin rivers right outside of providence ri. Then theres the hacking of mgm and you know they lost a bunch of money and people are saying ever sence that they are not paying out i much!!

@@mikef4776 it's the business district where I live is just fine. All i am saying it's far from the worst part of town by any stretch
they have encore Boston located on the Everett city side it is big looks like Las Vegas. Boston area is big and thriving with foot traffic. there is also lots of construction redevelopment everywhere.
been there several times. cant be bad if weekend rates climb to $500 per night. people are paying. I got a comped night. i love that you can put a $20 into the machine at the bar and they feed you free drinks. cant complain!!!!

If you're hungry check out the Red Rose across the street. When I worked downtown we got lunches there a lot. Actually my birthday pizza (lol) came from there and it was as good as any pizza I've ever had. It is Springfield style which I like

Plus they judge you when they check your id .just cause u want to have fun .plus i played there n they never updrade my card sapphire to next card they scam you all the way and if they see this i will be happy to get it out there
Unfortunately, Springfield is pretty much a sh*t city overall. I grew up nearby in Anherst and currently live about 45 minutes away in Ware. Been to casino one time. They didn't check my ID or anything and I didn't try the food. But, like I said the city itself is pretty much a pit. Which is sad. 😢
Some security will act like they want to fight u for being humble i notcied and all my visit fridays are ok but mondays and down there nothing good in there and i played over some good years.. in that place n always come home with nothing the machines are broken.. they even rob a new jersey guy when he visited in its hotel imagine not to brag bad but i noticed all these years^",-?i only won 1 jackpot. and beside that they took good machines out and even to put wack machines. Some of them freeze. I think they put a card board to hold down the paying line ..... check u out to kick u out after you loose money .fox wood or mogeun just lets u walk and they let u buy cigarettes and they more humble and the machines you win better
I have never been to a Casino but always wanted to go but if you get treated like a criminal I will not be going there. The food 🤢wow ping food Pasta. How much lol
Agreed Mattness. Food was unacceptable. Most casinos do not have security surrounding the perimeter. This was very odd. Vegas, Atlantic City and all other casinos do not follow this setup. Ill show you in the next few videos! Thanks for watching.
