The coach mentions planting the foot and protecting the ball from the opponent, but does not even mention the possibility of an obstruction offence or how to avoid giving obstruction i.e the use of distance and good timing. But early days with a new skill for these youngsters, perhaps the coach will mention these things in the next session? How much easier it would be to develop stick handling so that players were adept at moving from left to right with the ball without having to make a turn with the body.
