Is it just to remove the screw and take the m.2 drive off?

I'm not sure what you're asking. I think you're asking about taking the M.2 off the motherboard, and yes, there should be one very tiny screw holding one end of it down. Once that's out, you should be able to slide it out of the slot on the motherboard.
