This is a 100% (Guide) speed run + No Damage challenge of an (unnoficial) MegaMan game.
As video content, was added sfx effects on the footage to make the game looks more new age style.
That moment when zero fall and stand there... i bet all of our minds exploded when we find that we can control zero.
There's a mod from this channel showcasing Zero being fully playable through the whole run.

Would have been for me if I hadn't played this game after playing X4. Still a cool moment, though.
Time is weird. I was hyped as hell to play as Zero at that moment. When Mega Man Zero released, though, I felt disappointed that Capcom had moved so far away from Mega Man and X.

Inafune confirmed that Zero didnt killed anyone from classic megaman, so Zero didnt do Cataclysm
This is truly legendary. Even the dialogue changes between the characters. I love it, I love Protoman!

Ah...That moment when you beat a maverick and watch him explode with that white screen glowing and the boss's silhouette exploding..By far, one of THE most satisfying moments in gaming history...We need this moment replicated into a modern game
Mega Man 11 does something similar with the Robot Masters when you defeat them. The screen doesn't go totally white, but it gets brighter as the defeated Robot Master emits light from his body and becomes darker, all while shouting out one last death cry before exploding.
Tbh I can’t decide if I like that or the Classic Mega Man explosion better like what X does.

Exactly. I don't like character replacement hacks that don't also change the mechanics to match; I don't mean to bash, but Zero Project did a wonderful job at making Zero truly playable, even if it is not perfect and it's the same game and engine as this.
I only like Character Replacement Hacks if they're good or amazing not cruddy made hacks

Technically his scarf is there but not very visible
Definitely needs the scarf and shield. The shield can’t just be for looks, but automatically moves to the front when standing still like other games with Protoman.
There is a Proto man version of the first X game, the scarf is more visible and you can get the proto shield, only reduces knockback tho.

Have to give credit to the developers of the game bosses. When I think of toughness, I don't immediatly think seahorse, buffalo, and shrimp. But they made it work.
I noticed his buster is considerably stronger than X/Rockman. Which could be considered canon but, does he take more damage as well? Can't tell since its a no damage run
You take normal damage but body armor is unavaible to get.
His buster would be stronger than Mega Man's, but not stronger than X's.

Actually looking at this footage I think this might be a hack of the PS1 release so I don't think that it's that he added the cutscenes to the video I think it's that the author made a hack of the PS1 ROM itself

Protoman is literally X recolored. These hackers should have made Protomann have his own abilities separate from X. I would play the original X3.
In the MegaMan cartoon protoman could copy the powers of other robot masters for example he took guttsmans muscle to hit MegaMan.
While I don't disagree that having protoman get a slightly different set of abilities they establish on the cartoon from the 90's that mega and proto are brothers, Dr Light built them both, it was Dr Wiley who used a device to make him bad.

Just thought you would like a little cartoon history.
I wouldn't imagine the process of programming and playtesting all of Protoman's features into X3.
I mean, coding stuff like separate abilities is a lot easier said than done.
At least here, like with the other Proto Edition hacks for X1 and X2, his charge shots are much stronger.
I understand where you're coming from though, it would be interesting if they had given him his shield, but other than that, there's not a lot he can be given. You could say he's just Mega Man, but red, and with a shield.

Acknowledge the fact that zero was essentially made as an upgrade of proto man just like x was for mega.

On the 90’s mega man cartoon when mega or proto copied a power it was like two or three shots worth than it was empty and he never changed color.

My guess is that the hack's author wants Protoman to be true to his design (glass cannon build - high damage but low defense) and armor upgrade would ruin his "glass" part

Now that I think of it, was it ever explained what happened to the original Robot Masters? I think the only one who has a canonical end is Mega Man, if you count the GBA games as canon anyway. Otherwise there's seemingly no reason why Proto Man couldn't be there to repeatedly jump over Vile's Ride Armor punch like they're playing jumprope.

Neon Tiger's claws are made of fire in the video intro, but they are made of metal in the game. Why must the game lie to me? Gravity Beetle has the best theme. But he shouldn't have copied Storm Eagle's stage of being an airport. But Gravity Beetle's stage starting with the main runways at SUNSET, that's cool!
Also, these bosses' names in Japanese are hilarious. "Blizzard Buffalio"? "Gravity Beetlebood"? "Acid Seaforce"? WTF? And am I the only one who noticed Toxic Seahorse's stage looks like Volt Catfish's stage from MegaMan Xtreme 2? Toxic Seahorse is one scary guy, and not because of his long neck and weird face. This guy can liquefy his entire body into sludge and avoid attacks and pass through sewer grates. And he's made of metal!
This is honestly a really cool f****** mod
I like how Proto Man looks little in this version. Appropriate as he was a short robot in the original.

It's not really a scarf. In the full portrait for Proto Man when he obtains a new special weapon, it looks like a yellow "scarf" design was integrated into his armor.

Proto Man doesn't have a counterpart in the X series, zero might or might not count but an exact counterpart
Protoman served as the basis for zero when wily was building him. So it kinda works in a way since his design was used as reference. Otherwise they’re two completely different robots in terms of personality.
