Northern Chief Footplate featuring Spitfire - Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway

- Whilst down at the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway I was fortunate enough to get on the footplate of Northern Chief for a couple of days. Even more lucky was when we were part of a triple header with Dr Syn and Spitfire.
I would like to thank the drivers of Northern Chief for having me on the footplate with them.
I Don't know what it is with steam trains, I just LOVE the noise they make when working hard!
They sound fantastic for sure! There is just something about them!

Yeah it was a good couple of days! Was very fortunate.
Ive done a one day driving course at the RHDR it was brilliant!
They are cracking locos to drive, what loco did you end up driving?
Samson between New Romney and Dungeness several times with 2 others on the course and 2 staff, highly recommended ! Also travelled in the cab of one of the Diesels. There's also courses between New Romney and Hythe might do that one this year.
@@meanwhileme4128 can’t go wrong with a drive of Samson, she is a wonderful machine, and has a fantastic whistle. I would recommend driving that section!
