Hi Tasha, oh my goodness I can’t imagine how scary it was for you when Oscars D + W feeding tube when walkabout. Thankfully both you and Oscar look like you’ve recovered after your stint in the Pixie emergency hospital. It must have really helped that you know Oscar so well that you felt a bit more confident trying to sort this young man out. I must admit that I was holding my breath both times you fed him until he started peeing - I can only imagine what you must have felt after you’d finished sorting him out until he first started peeing. I just love watching him as his movements and little rolls of fat are so realistic. I hope that your hubby is continuing to recover well after his hip replacement and that your back is continuing to hold up at the moment and that your not in so much pain. Take care. Hi Sue, yeah it was definitely quiet the night in the Pixi ER that's for sure!! I would say that once I went into his throat it took about 45min for me to get him sorted. I was of course taking my time being very careful exploring so that I could visualize what I was doing because of course I could see a thing! I would have needed a laparoscopic camera to see down in there! (Haha)
It felt like I had a baby "not breathing" the whole time I was working on him! It was pretty wild! I knew that if I were to send him to an artist for that repair they would have been facing the same unfamiliar inside anatomy as I was & yeah being I know Oscar's limits well, it was better I did it anyways! I just had to be brave that's all!
Once I got him peeing I just layed him against me with a towel & held him for a while. Then I figured I'd make a video to flush some more through & was so glad it continued to work! After that I repaired a small boo boo on the side of his mouth & he's as good as new! I'm so relieved!
Hubby is doing fantastic. In fact he just say the surgeon yesterday & got the knee surgery planned & scheduled for Jan 7th! He's doing that well!!
As for me, I'm hanging in there managing the best I can.

Awe, poor Oscar! Gosh, that would be such a scary situation to encounter......especially while making a video! So yes, 2018 they were made. I would say he was done early 2018 is when Oscar was born since Monroe was born in May of 2018 and he was created just before him. It really is so realistically done especially with the boy bits! Claire does such a great job on making it all so real with the drink and wet systems! To me it's all art, but I know some are super bothered by seeing the baby bits. Lol! I'm so glad you were able to get his D&W system working again, but for sure I can imagine how scary this was for you! Gahhhh......he seriously looks so alive while you are holding him and moving him around in your arms, it's crazy amazing to me! I absolutely LOVE watching you handle him! Him and his cute little wrinkly bum! Lol! So cute!!! This was a great video to share and also a good warning to other collectors out there that have the drink and wet systems! Ahhh thank you my dear friend "2018"! Omgosh I was so afraid bc all the water was just pooled in his mouth "which he spit out" but then when I was kinda feeling around his tummy for the tube & pushing a bit some squirted out his pee pee so I was like "omg there's water sitting in there"! I was desperate to get it "flowing" so the system would be cleansed! He got a little boo boo on his mouth "you might notice in the video, I was aware lol" but I didn't want to close that up until I was certain I was not gonna have to go fishing back down his throat! 🤣
He's "all better now" good as new! I'm sure that would have panicked some collectors as well, but of course I knew that was no biggie at all for me to fix! I should have made a repair video. I thought about it, but my back was literally on fire from the whole ordeal so I just wanted to mend that quick afterwards & get some ice on me!! I needed some fixin after that ordeal! 🤣🤣
This is all great stuff to talk about as it helps demystify things for other collectors. Things happen with the dolls after yrs & we also must understand that the more "wear & tear" we put on our doll.... well the more wear they will have! Personally I'm very comfortable enjoying Oscar the way that I do, but now I will be more aware of paying attention to that tube that's for sure! Some dolls it's easy you can see the tube back there when you open their mouths. Oscar's is so far down & such a tight space. The way I had to feel & visualize I felt like I was intubating a baby! It was a weird feeling especially how darn real he looks & feels!!
I would tell any collector that any repairs they might make on their own doll to (do at their own risk & it's always best to consult with the original artist if possible) but I certainly wasn't going to bug CT over this & I don't think it would have mattered, I just needed to be comfortable to do what I had to! It was a wild ride last night, but Oscar is doing fabulous & is as good as new!! Claire's work is just such perfection! 😍😍😍

Yeah it's built into the anatomy of the inside of the sculpt, but it kinda got cinked under it to the side a little. He's so flexible so it makes sence that this can happen over time, but all boo boos are fixed & he's as good as new now! 😘😘

Hi, the reborn dolls are hand done works of art so you would do best to take a look at some of the artists of dolls your seeing that you like.

Ooh, poor Oscar! I hope everything went okay while you were fixing him? I noticed a crack in the corner of his mouth, I hope that didn't happen when you were trying to fix him. I just got my first FB silicone a week ago and I hope something like that doesn't ever happen to her ! 😕 I looked in her mouth and it looks pretty tight. I'm surprised the tube could actually ever move. She's the Faye sculpt by Lilianne Breedveld and so the whole inside of her mouth isn't really very big. It's quite small actually, but I guess it could happen with anyone's doll. Well,I guess cuz she's my first I have alot to learn. The good thing is I know I have you and everyone else I subscribe to, to help me along the way. I'm really glad because I don't feel like I'm getting much support from some members of my family.
Hi Tanya, yes Oscar is all fixed up as good as new! Actually it's not uncommon at all with the drink & wet systems over time for issues to arise, but most things can be fixed. Tares are also something that can happen & also very easy to fix, I would recommend always having Silpoxy on hand to anyone who owns a silicone.
Yeah I wouldn't expect family to know much about maintenance & repair of a silicone doll. It's usually something only doll collectors would know, so your right it's great to be a part of this community & learn from one another! ❤
@@piximommysreborns Thank you Tasha!😊 I did buy some silpoxy when I bought her just in case. And I meant no support from family as far as just having her in general. The response I got left me not really knowing what to say. My mom who always supports in everything said Amaranth looked and felt like a dead baby who had been stuffed, and whose real eyes had been replaced with the glass ones! Then, to make matters even worse, she said, "You're not gonna be like those weirdos who take their babies everywhere with them are you? " I didn't even know how to respond to that! I mean, you gals are my friends, so I was kind of offended that my mom would say that about me or any of you. I guess I expected her to react differently .😕 I mean, how do you respond to something like that?

There's no easy answer because they are hand made works of art so they're not something sold in stores or doll websites. You will want to follow the silicone artists. Most sell directly off their social media or they announce when they will be putting a doll on auction. The baby in this video is by @clairetaylordolls "she does have her own website as well as social media pages". She's one of the top silicone sculptors/artists in the world. There are many silicone sculpters & artists from beginners on up to the top.

Dr. Tasha, you go girl! Poor Oscar, perhaps the tubing to the entrance of his mouth needs some psycho paint base ( not silpoxy) behind the tubing next to his silicone "skin" to hold it in the proper position. ( According to Dr. Chick, UA-camr- psycho paint base is the best silicone adhesive to use.) If the tube keeps its proper position, I'd continue giving Oscar water. If the tube keeps slipping from its proper position, I'd figure out how to adhere it so it holds in place. Boy that procedure as a "Mommy" sounds horrific. I'd would have be concerned about ripping his little mouth, while fishing in the dark for the tube. I'm so happy you were brave enough and capable and I'm sure Oscar is relieved 😌 😊. Yeah it was a wild ride last night that's for sure! His mouth did get a little boo boo, but once I had finished flushing his drink & wet after the video & knew I would not have to go back fishing down his throat I repaired that good as new.
I've never seen "Dr. Chick" & don't know what silicone they use. I can only say that Claire Taylor's silicone she pours is made by smooth on. So silpoxy made by smooth on is what adhears & becomes "one" with the silicone & what is recommended by her to repair her dolls. I've had a couple little spots to repair on Oscar through the yrs & that product has worked amazing!
So yes normally if the tube could be seen or easily accessed you would put an adhesive to help keep the tube in place, but his tube is way way down the back of his throat & the silicone is so tight around it that there would be no way to get down there with an adhesive. The tube was just kind of "cinked a little to the side & slightly under" it's hard to explain typing, but I don't think it's moving anywhere now any to soon! Lol. Something I will keep a close eye on though. I'm just glad I was able to get it working to cleanse him thoroughly!
