I've been trying to be very frugal and had convinced myself that I didn't need to hop on Amazon and order the New Ball Canning Book. I can't stand it anymore. All of your recipes just have come out so beautifully. Next stop Amazon. I can already taste that chicken and gravy now. Thanks for another lovely adventure in the kitchen.
Same here... looking forward to receiving it. Thanks for the beautiful demonstration, Mouse Toes... you have inspired me to get back in the kitchen and start restocking my pantry.
Anyone else catch the white wine was Barefoot brand to gor along with the toes? Seriously this looks so good. A future project. (Have fancy mice as pets; a wildie's little toes got me. So stinking cute!!!)
gotta try this. Have a TIP: found this tip on another fb site, don't know where, but if you parboil your chicken it will get ride of the "snow' (as he called it), or slime, that comes off the chicken when cooked and will look better in the jars...if you care about that.
Hello, did you put the chicken in jar raw? Also is it mandatory to put in the wine? I made something similar, raw pack, but put celery, onions, carrots, potatoes and chicken. All raw pack with chicken broth! Yummy
Have all the ingredients to make this tomorrow! I'm thinking I might sear the chicken a bit...just cuz I like how it looks in the jar a bit better.:) Thanks so much for the review!
I have known of you for a long time, I don't know why it has taken me so long to subscribe to your channel. Anyway, I have subscribed and love your cooking videos. I also can chicken and broth and when I open a jar it makes great chicken and dumplings.OAG
You're the commandant of conservation!!! The crackerjack of cannery!!!!!!!! The lord paramount of preserving!!!!!!!!!! The sachem of sustentation!!!!!!!! Yes, The one, the only, Mouse toes!!!!!!!!!! Getting her Jam all up in her pantry!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Love ya babe!
After watching these, she said she is going to order the new book! She was wonder what type of canner you use? She uses an All American and had newer seen a jiggler like that before that pops up.
It depends on which kind of electric stove you have and which pressure canner you have. For example: If you have an old All American canner and a ceramic top electric stove, you may have problems. So, tell me which stove and canner you have. OAG
Thank you I just found your channel and was wondering how to prepare this. ❤
My favorite new BOOK!
I can't stop reading it and making a grocery list lol !
I would make a roux with butter, add the liquid of the jar then and the chicken and veggies.
Seriously going to have to check this book out! Thank you for showing us the end product too. Very helpful. 😊

What does the book look like? I have pne but it doesn't have any 1 jar meals in it.
That looks great. I did not know you can't can gravy in there.
Yup; gravy is too thick for the heat to penetrate! Science; mad science!

can you do liver and oions?
Hi Theresa , liver and onions can not be canned together. Onions can of course be canned. I have a recipe for liver in my videos.
Somebody! I grew up cooking on gas but we are total electric now. So, question is, can I successfully can on an electric stove???
Yes absolutely you can!

if you say you can't can gravy how come they sell it in jars at
stores?
There is gravy in jars in stores but that is commercially canned. This recipe is from the New Ball Book and flour is added after the jar is opened.
I guess heinz jared gravy did not get the memo, ha h
