I'm a researcher doing preclinical work connected to schizophrenia, primarily negative symptoms, and because I don't work with patients, I lack the kind of personal insights that offers. Your videos really help me bridge that knowledge gap, and I i just wanted to thank you for being so transparent and honest, and for educating so many of us so generously. Thank you!

Make sure you watch alot of different people because everyone is so different, everyone reactions to drugs is extremely different and all that. So some people might take awhile for it to work or eve get worse from certain meds and stuff.

Schizophrenia is not a diseases it's environmental pollution. And a raw transmission exploiting the human behavior and exploiting the interrelations. And exploiting the world peace. An uncontrolled security system not finely tuned as yet. Weakness of Enforcement agencies.

Mental health worker here, mostly with schizophrenia, just wanted to add that I thought it was interesting that everyone ended up on antipsychotics as well as mood stabilisers. The only cases where this combination wasn't successful in keeping people balanced, and socialising, were when they were self medicating, with AOD.
Bipolar friends have also ended up on both types of meds.

Hi! I found this comment and I’ve noticed a trend in this community and I wanna see if there’s been clinical study or if maybe a clinical study could start?
So my wife has schizo-affective disorder and I’m Autistic/ADHD and we are two peas in a pod, peanut butter and jelly, yin and yang. Perfectly balanced.
This isn’t a unique experience to her and me though. I’ve often “found” schizophrenics in my life and have always been wholly capable of helping them through paranoia and delusion and hallucinations and psychosis.
I also see others in this community say the same thing.
I think…autistic people might be like service animals for those who suffer from episodes of psychosis?

This reminds me of my friend's experience. He struggled with symptoms of schizophrenia for years and while he was at university a psychiatrist started him on a new med. I remember him saying to me: I haven't felt this good since...I don't think I've ever felt this good!" His racing thoughts slowed down, he said the number of bizarre thoughts greatly decreased and he no longer felt overwhelmed by the chaos of his mind. It was amazing.

You already know, but I just want to reiterate just how significant your transparency and journey are to us.
My cousin has schizophrenia and it’s heartbreaking to see. Currently they’re on a medication cocktail that seems to work most of the time. Main issue right now, being drowsiness, which I can relate to as I take medication for AUD, and feeling groggy and tired can bear down hard when you have a career and other demands that have to be met.
I really appreciate your story and hope that many more people, including those in the medical community, watch, listen, and understand so that we can continue to make strides in how we as a society, accept the idea of mental health and properly treat mental health issues.
    Cheers, from Florida!

do you mind disclosing which country you live in? for the short term, you need to be able to assess how things are going. is she schizophrenic or schizoaffective? do you think there are any risks to her safety or anyone else? do you have contact with her doctor? if it gets really bad the doctor can most likely have her formed, which at least in Canada means involuntary inpatient just for however long it takes to stabilize things, which may sound harsh but it's important to understand that sometimes that's the safest thing to do. just do it in a way that doesn't make you the bad guy, do what you can to show youre on her team in getting this figured out, but also make sure to keep an emotional distance to help.both of you.

You needed care and place to experience the world. That it leads to. It's a conflict of there's is no attachment then there is love to b eñthere is care. You now as one person I'm not asking to change. It is the social structure

Ah, yes, the sedative effects. My partner had been on those for a while and he would absolutely be knocked out and then act like one hell of a zombie for hours. Wasn’t great.
Meanwhile when my brother tried that same medication, nothing happened.
    Brains are fucking wild.

@@SchizophrenicNYC that's really cool. I just found and clicked the link to check out the clothing and art. I like the designs. Even the pillbox. That's something many people don't even consider as a vital product that can also be stylish.

I realized when you talk you move a lot like spasms in your shoulders, eyes widening out etc... is that due to schizophrenia, side effect of medication, hyperactivity or just a tic?

Wow, this is my first time on this page! And I’m glad you are brave to share about your experiences, however I don’t want to come off too spiritual but you are literally being attacked by a demonic force that doesn’t want to leave you alone. The hallucinations, loud obnoxious thoughts/ conversations etc. is coming from something demonic. I believe meds can help for so long but I also believe that schizophrenia is definitely curable by Jesus Christ. I’m definitely praying for you and that you will be delivered in JESUS NAME! 😊

i hated those loud repeating voices - i tried reasoning with them - for 4 years. i shouldn't have even bothered. i don't know why... i made all the sense in the world and it was like a mentally handicapped person bashing their head into mine to get me to agree with them, despite irrelevance
