Fascinating pawn structure with the shifted symmetry when the kings weren't able to move
I suspect the composer tried for complete symmetry here, but couldn't get it to work.
Bravo Nelson!!! This a perfect example of Zugzwang🥂🥂
spoilers :(
@@hostomelhorsehoarder Haha, damn I did the same thing...I got distracted with comments about the new setup and haven't watched the puzzle yet. Shoot...
@@TheEthikos What? There's a new setup? 8-)
It would easier if our f pawn is gone
Which is why it's there
Interesting situation with double Zugzwang!
1:03 OK, let's check. Black has played bxa6, cxb, dxexf, fxgxh, which is 6 captures, nearly matching White's 7 missing pieces. Legal with just a little wiggle room! It's the sort of weird pawn structure you'd only find in a retroanalytical problem.
And it doesn't appear that all of White's captures had to occur on (say) white-colored squares. Otherwise, there aren't too many captures, but the position would still be impossible.
Nice new room, Nelson!
If chat gpt were to evaluate this puzzle it would capture his own pawn with his own king and win as white in a very simpler way
No way to find the solution before your explanation. Great puzzle, Nelson.
Amazing puzzle Nelson! Keep it up!
7:42 That's almost a symmetric position. I suspect that the composer tried to shift half of the kingside pieces to create complete symmetry, but it didn't work for some reason.
Hey, I'm been picking up the kings indian attack, barcza system lately, it's fun and i hope you could do a video about the middle game plan for it
New room is looking sharp! 👌 and great vid as always!
Very nice room, happy to see you keeping evolving !
The setup is looking schmick Nelson, keep up the great work
7:42 ..a6 also leads to a similar position after a3
Really cool Nelson, I got the puzzle, love it and always have fun
Thanks for your efforts
Nice setup and puzzle
nice setup, I like it, but the last on was also good.
Wow, what a fascinating puzzle!
Really enjoying the content and I like the room too.
Damn man i remember how the room looked when you first started out
Shows growth 🙏
That looks awesome!
Pls make more puzzle videos, some of us miss them
stockfish finding 50 alternatives:
Room is awesome, but I so get used to the angle that we see you in frame. But no worries, we will get used to it too.
This guy (Nelson) is such a natural teacher.
Superb pawn and king puzzle..
Both room (old and new) look great, but the new one looks better because I didn't get used to look at your room like this, your room never looked bad
Nelson - how confident are you in your pronunciation of zugzwang? 😂😂😂
Room looks great!
Saw the threat black has but couldn't figure out a way to stop it and win.
I love hes explening and hes ezey to undstand and nice speches i love it its amazing
i love your vids keep up the hard work
I didn't manage to find the answer to that puzzle. I really like the new set up Nelson. The room looks very nice.
i like new set up what kinda sound proofing did you use on the wall?
incredible puzzle !!!
Hey Nelson I think that you should do proof games for different studies might be interesting
Awesome setup ☺☺
MARIO!!! Half of the channels I'm subbed to focus on classic video games (Kosmic & MitchFlowerPower). You have transcended my interests, Nelson.
I spent too much time but I did prove that this position is entirely possible for a real game.
4:00 I wonder what the outcome of the game could be if black here starts to move his king down c6 d5/6 d4. Could be a more of a Oppositon game then instead of Zugzwang (or maybe both).
The green is actually so sleek tho. very nice colour
Will you resume the 3-position test series and the 5-minute find the move series?
At 4:55 why move the black king down? If you go up and over the 8th rank, the king doesn't get trapped and can capture the passed pawn.
That was my first thought as well. Can't see a reason why that wouldn't work. Either C7 or C8. White king is still frozen so you'd have to move the pawns and probably wind up with the pawns on the left frozen, then have to move the G pawn forward and get it captured.
King is too slow to capture the. It will take 5 moves to reach queening square and pawn will reach it in 4
love your videos!!!!!
New Setup Looks Good
nice setup
My favorite Chess teaching chanel🙏
Black has one more option after a4: a6. This still loses to axb5 axb5 bxa5, but worth including for completeness.
What if black not taking the pawn on e6, but goes via e8?
Challenge suggestion: Overpowered King Chess
You have to make a king move with checkmate WITHOUT getting check once.
and plus there should be a single piece that Martin or Nelson still has on the board. And a lonely king still in the board doesn't count as a single piece left on the board, Only a
Queen, Rook, Knight, And Bishop But NO pawns.
Difficulty: Super hard
1:01 It's possible if the black pawns have taken 6 pieces altogether. I wonder where the seventh piece was taken.
New series: try and get Martin into the starting positions of these puzzles.
Maybe a higher rated bot if Martin is just too random.
F pawn is always hated
F to pay respect
New setup looking cool. How about Chess against Martin but it's sideways? (The starting position of the board is flipped 90 degrees in either direction)
3:13 Why not Kg4 here to take the pawn on the following move if pawns don’t run? If the pawn tries to run, you can still make.
I like the setup, I think just play around with the lighting a bit. I think the original setup lighting did better for your facial features.
I think it was so dark before you couldn't really see my face 😅
This position can come from a normal game. The f pawn just comes from the c or d file.
Cool room
I like the new room layout, but I miss the old camera perspective
I guessed the first move correct by intuition, and genuinely found a4.
Nice!
Six of white’s pieces needed to be taken by black’s pawns to create that position. Likewise, four of black’s pieces needed to be taken by white’s pawns. Possible, but unusual.
It could have come from an actual game. The black f pawn originated on the d file, the black g pawn started on the f file and the two pawns on the h file are from g and h files. It is weird, but should be legal, barring a truly bizzare detail somewhere that needs a detailed analysis.
Nice moves. Didn't find it!
Nice background,it looks better
I found it. Nice puzzle
i would like to see chess vibes playing fps chess.
7:26 holy hell
6:06 lets go i got it right somehow altho i wasnt sure cuz it was a crazy move
Remove the red arrow with the note «okay maybe not», because this position can be occur legally.
White pawns: a2, b2xa3, c2xb3, d2-d4-d5xe6, e2-e4, f2, g2xf3, h2-h3
Black pawns: a7, b7xa6, c7-c6xb5, d7-d6xe5xf4, e7, f7-f6xg5xh4, g7-g6, h7-h5
Challenge for the next video:
Chess against Nelson, but you must move with one TYPE of piece three times. If this is not possible, you will lose.
thumbnail goes extremely hard
It is nice youtr backwall 👍 I like your puzzels to
What if black king just moves to the g pawn along the 8 rank
Love your Videos,I got like 350 ELO IN the last MONTH
WOAHHH COOOOOL
get chess vibes to 1m subs he's an amazing content creator
For once, I actually got the correct first move!!!.....didn't have any clue as to why it was the right move, it just *felt* right
What does Stockfish say?
Good video.
chess but you can not move your king
Also if black tries 9 ... a6 then 10. axb5 axb5 11. bxa5 and white still wins
At 7:26, after A5, do you really have to take En Passant? Couldn't you just move forward and queen? Even though the king can move over and take the pawn, you still will queen your g pawn.
Get free pawn you take free pawn
We have to make some retro analysis to see that this position is not a valid one (from a game) 😂
I Solved this riddle :))
Puzzle
It is possible to have this position in game, but very unlikely xD (black has to make 8 captures with pawns, which is basically white giving his pieces for free).
@@animedbz20 exactly as I said. The game you suggest is technically possible with legal moves, but has absolutly no sense. As I said : possible, but very unlikely.
@@animedbz20 no, because most captures are followed by recapture just after. This is what a normal game looks like. Yes, there is tactics and sometime this is not the case. But no recapture at all on each and every pawn capture is very very VERY unlikely. This can happen if both player have a plan and play together to reach a position, but this is not playing chess. Maybe I'm not good enough at chess to understand that a good game of chess could lead to this position. But honestly, it seemed not natural to Nelson who is way better than me, this could give you the feeling I'm right, except if you'r very good and could find an honest game of chess to even approach this position. Just a high lvl game with 8 pawns left after all this material missing could convince me.
Nelson how'd u get demolished by a Non-titled 2200 UA-camr
I found the last 5 moves
f4 is coming from d file, and h4 comes from f file.
Cool
❤
IDGAF about your pretty room, but this puzzle is beautiful!
It’s scary how you’re looking at me
12 pawns not 16
Day 14 chalenge chess but Martin moves twice If You get chacked in Martin first move you'll lose. Also I'm sick🤒
Google en passant
hello.
Sorry
First but nice setup, I like it
