As someone who has fished with Daniel several times I can honestly say he lives and breathes trout fishing. Actually fishing with him tomorrow in Blue Ridge lol. This video dropped at the perfect time to remind fisherman of all skill levels to take care of local guides and fly shops after this pandemic has slowed business down so much for them. Anyway, cheers, y’all!
It’s an awesome place to visit. Great fly fishing. Not a lot of wild trout, a lot of stocked trout. Coopers Creek, Rock Creek, and Noontootla Creek. Can’t forget the lower Toccoa River below the dam.
ALL of north Georgia is amazing! Fishing, hiking, apple picking, wine country, getaways! I used to ride my motorcycle all over north Georgia and it was one adventure after another. SHHHH don't tell anyone! hahah
Thanks for sharing info about some streams to check out. At first, I thought this was going to be just another self promotional video, but you shared so much information on where to fish and what tactics to use. Very impressive, most informative fishing video ever!!
I'm only an hour and a half drive from there. I need to get me a rig and get after it! I've hiked and camped there as well as gone riding through looking at the leaves, but I need to get to fishing it!
I challenge ANYONE to find a location in America where cost-of-living compared to the surroundings you get for it, is a better value than North Georgia. Gorgeous lush nature and mountains, beautiful streams and fishing, mild short winters, reasonable summers, and on top of all that, TONS of cute towns like Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Helen, Dahlonega, etc. Fairly low crime, great people, I mean what's not to love? And on top of that, you can get a home in North Georgia for like 350k that's a pretty nice home. 500k gets you a lovely home. Just a great value location in America.
Ted Turner’s property lol…..no for real though guys, excellent video, I absolutely love the area, up in NH where I live we have 4 rivers all within 5 miles of each other that have no closed season to fly fishing, C&R. Due to the fact that the stocking is funded privately, we get a ton of very nice fish, including giant brook trout and steelhead strain rainbows. For situations where this type of fishery can happen it definitely should as I’ve seen my local river get stocked once in the spring to fly shops opening in town and folks with waders at waist in line at Dunks, it’s great to see a recreational program change the human environment.
Let me start off by saying that this is an Awesome video .. Well Done! Daniel Massingale an I have become friends via Social Media and have yet had the opportunity to meet in person .. We had a fishing trip planned this past April 6th but had to cancel due to this craziness going on with Covid-19 ... We will work out a date soon and sling some line together ... I can't wait to have the opportunity to fish with my friend ... Again Great Video!!
Well filmed and put together video. Glad to see my boy Eric Hurst getting some love. Just wish people would be truthful about north Georgia trout fishing. Georgia CANNOT produce fish of this caliber naturally due to extremely poor geology. ALL of the fish in this film are pellet fed pet trout. Source: guide in the area If you want big wild trout, gotta go to the Chattahoochee in Georgia, otherwise go to another state.
Thanks! It’s water that On the Fly Excursions guides on. They also guide on the Toccoa River nearby. There is a lot of great public access in the area for sure!
Incredible! I am from PA and have been spoiled by the water here. Moving to GA for the Army. Are these fish wild or stocked? Looking forward to exploring GA!
Do you have to release or can you keep some of the catch SC depending on were you catch has a limit of 5.it does matter were you fish though.I would like to come that way soon! Love the videos huge trout☺
Lived in GA and fished these areas a lot. Video is awesome but definitely misleading. These are private waters with stocked trout that are on feeders and stay in certain areas. When you fish the public areas, you’re back to catching normal size trout, 8-12 inches. The real trophy is getting the few wild rainbows and native brookies to eat. They are small but the colors will blow your mind.
I live in the north Georgia mountains. 99.9% of fish that size are on private heavily stocked catch and release sections. It’s pretty rare you’ll catch any that size on public waters here. Probably 99% of the trout you catch will be around 10” stockers. This video is misleading 😂😂😂
Super video, very high quality all around, love it

Josh Barker Daniel is the man! This film was his idea. He got all of us together and worked hard to make it happen. Y’all have fun out there!
Definitely subscribed, brotha. Awesome content!

North Georgia looks like one of the most beautiful places on Earth the people seem very welcoming

REALLY Nice footage and editing on this one! Good job fellas..
Thank you, sir!
GA definitely has some nice trout. Even a great wild and native population. Those pellet pigs are definitely fun too.
Definitely a lot of good native too! Thanks for watching.

I’ve been waiting for this to drop for over a month since you released the teaser.
Shaun Justin Dude, that means a lot! Thanks for the support (and patience)!
Be advised. To catch trout that size in GA you will have to fish PRIVATE water.
I agree, kinda misleading to the normal angler. Fish like that don’t exist in public water around here let’s be real.
This is true! These are “pellet pigs”.
There may be a couple big boys hiding out around there. ;)

On my way!

I'm definitely going to need to take a detour next time I'm in Ga

Daniel is such a great guy and guide. You'll have a blast! I know he is happy to get back out on the water! Thanks a lot for the kind words.

No need to leave ny to head south when you have amazing trib fishing out of all the great and finger lakes
Hey awesome. Is this public land in GA? Only seen consistent size like this on specially farmed reserves
Thanks! It’s water that On the Fly Excursions guides on. They also guide on the Toccoa River nearby. There is a lot of great public access in the area for sure!
We like to come fishing. U will help us
I'm renting a cabin in whitepath area, do y'all think I can catch trout in ellijay river near that whitepath area?
Incredible! I am from PA and have been spoiled by the water here. Moving to GA for the Army. Are these fish wild or stocked? Looking forward to exploring GA!
Stocked
is that public water that ya'll are fishing
Wyatt Edwards it was water the guides at On the Fly Excursions fish! Hit me up if you’re in the area.

Are these fish dropped in as adults or yearlings?
Stockies...
