Take my Quiz after watching: ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxq2wts6Bim5ZjoOkXMd2VAydaXS9dMZTI
Also, I haven't been great at advertising my Kickstarter. It's going to be launched at a later time which is why I suck at marketing it right now:
    Kickstarter: bit.ly/3y1b0UX
    Early access Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/mjott
The idea is to build an early access user base first with my buymeacoffee account (it's like Patreon, but I can limit users, and accept 1 time donations). Then once I am ready for "playback", I will be launching Kickstarter. I'm solo right now, and I would use Kickstarter funds to outsource the playback portion of development.

What about those arrow down pedal markings? Pretty sure I cannot put them easily in MS3/4 and they do seem neat!
    Great video, as always.

I'm working on symbols now, so I can throw in symbols that I come across now and then. Maybe even add support for custom symbols. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I wish I had discovered this composer sooner! Better late than never I suppose.

I have a question on time signatures:
I write church music, much of which is in a chant style which uses no time signatures. Is there a provision for "no time signature" for such music?

Yes, Music Jotter supports meterless music, I just did not demo that in today's video.

Are they in the style of Gregorian Chant? Or in recitative style?

Not quite sure I understand what you mean by Gregorian chant vs recitative. But meterless would look like "cadenza style." You would choose a time signature still, and then click "meterless". The note groups would group based on the chosen time signature, but you can just keep on composing in that measure without any worry about using up duration. Perhaps I should demo that in a future video, to make it clear :-D

@@musicjotter Yeah they are both music style which are meterless.

I see. Here's what we can do. When I decide to show how meterless works in a video, check it out and feel free to provide feedback. I'd love to hear your thoughts around what you think of my implementation.

Nothing too strange. He's using 3 against 2, and he seemed to be too lazy to write triplets constantly on top, so he just wrote it like that. Not that difficult to get.

I just personally found the two different time signatures interesting (and 18/16, 12/16) are certainly not common time signatures. This score also had me thinking if I should bother implementing polymetric notation, such as in this case here: lilypond.org/doc/v2.25/Documentation/notation/polymetric-notation
Music Jotter does support mixed meters, I just haven't gotten to implementation yet. However, polymetric notation is not something I personally have come across until recently.

@@musicjotter I find it a bit limiting to set it up like that. But it's useful if that's the main device you're going to use in the whole piece. It is interesting, but I find them to be just a multiplier of 9/8 and 6/8. I might've just written it in 4/4, with triplets on top, and basic 8th notes below. But then, of course, that might not catch someone's attention. Ultimately, that's just what it is. I use a LOT of polyrhythms in my compositions, maybe that's why it's not strange for me.

I suppose my target audience with this video would be those who are unfamiliar with tuplets and only know the basic time signatures. As the creator of this software, I try to educate people as much as I can since Music Jotter has an advanced tuplet system. Music Jotter is capable of doing all kinds of combinations, and can be used to publish Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
In a sense, this video was just a fun way of doing a tuplet tutorial, without calling it one, because tuplets are not exactly a fun topic to talk about. But as I always say, the "rhythm" is the most important aspect of music. And if you want to notate music, you gotta learn it! :-)
