Why do we do this to ourselves? Heather just wanted a hard hike - no specific destination, just hard. Luckily I knew Herman’s Cave was on that route, and Coffee Flat ended up being a nice surprise. We had never been out there before.
You girls are crazy!! 😂😂 that’s a super long hike 😳 Thanks for sharing this! 😎👍 I was planning on hiking to Herman’s cave soon, but I think I want to get into that creek too 🤘👍😉😎
It’s a long hike just for the cave, so you definitely should take a dip while you’re at it! So beautiful out there with all the water, and La Barge Canyon is one of the most scenic. Good luck - watch for those cairns at the creek crossings. That was always where we would get off trail.
Great video! Did this loop recently as a day hike and really loved it, despite the cat claws. This video captures the whole experience nicely. That's the furthest east I've been in the superstitions; I'm open to recommendations for any trailhead accessible without 4WD on the east side
Thank you so much! We have definitely experienced worse catclaw than that, so we can’t complain too much. Most trailheads on the east that I know of have rough roads, but the road to Reavis Trailhead is relatively smooth. We did it in a 2wd Tundra no problem. It’s just a long drive over there right now with the road through Fish Creek blocked. If you haven’t done Reavis Falls, though, put it on the list.
@@matthewjsloan we just recently went to Woodbury Trailhead, and it was in decent shape. I think if you have high clearance and the road is dry, it won't be a problem for you. We hiked to La Barge Summit from there - new video rolling out soon.

I have Herman's Cave on my calendar this Friday! this video came at the most perfect time, I was almost talking myself out of it!
So glad! La Barge Canyon is especially scenic, and it’s extra beautiful out there with the water and wildflowers starting to bloom. Have a great hike!
@@wildpathsaz Thank you!!
Wow! Very high quality and engaging video. You are a great editor Stacey, you should be proud of your work.
That is very generous of you - thank you for watching!
That’s some SERIOUS mileage for a day trip. My feet hurt just watching😂🥾

That cave was awesome! What a crazy long hike. I would definitely have gone swimming with you.
Note to self: Always wear a good pair of underwear hiking - you never know what’s gonna happen
Good job! That’s a long trail. I did it in a day years ago too.
