@@NautiGuys wonderful video. thanks for sharing. Can you please tell us what company the corner pullout shelving system is from. That is exactly what I need for my kitchen! thanks.
@@NautiGuys uh the perfrect home for her would be on her own yacht without you or someone else working for her, maybe with her own friends and family; does she really just want to cook food for all these lazy people lulling around at sea in what are basically floating living rooms?
I love the thought process that you are putting into your design. I'm guessing not many people would seek out the advice of a professional chef when designing their galley. Most would probably be like "Here's the galley, deal with it." This is why your build series is one of my favorite things to watch on UA-cam!
yes and no, on the really big yachts they may have a chef in mind before the build and will consult with them in the design phase. Any of the top designers will have chefs on a consultancy retainer to assist with galley design.
What an amazing galley. You are the bumble bees of the yachting world flying all over collecting ideas like pollen. Now your new hive is an amazing collection of your combined travels. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.
I have always been impressed, how smooth and quick you work in your kitchen, Nina. After this video I understand how sophisticated those superyacht pantrys are. Impressive.
I like how you've expanded the galley visually to the far wall. It seems more open while still reserving a somewhat private space for the chef past the bar area. I think it makes things feel more inviting for the guests as well - and you have an amazing assortment of refrigeration and cooking options. Nice job!
As always...Nina never disappoints! Nina has enough experience to understand work flow from prep to cooking/baking to assembly to serving. Oh...double gang your electrical outlets - you can never have enough outlets in the galley. Enjoyed the video. Cheers...
Hi Victoria, you and Nina did a great job of presenting the galley for your Bearing 75. I love the pictures of the kitchen fixtures and why they were picked. You also did a great job of explaining the materials going to be used in the kitchen surfaces. Keep up the great videos. I am now following Nina on her channel. You two are a dynamite team. You might be able to get her to spend a week or two in your galley when she is taking her 8 weeks off cycle from the Loon.
A great collaboration and such a smart decision to ask a chef. The NBBL storage solution is excellent. Matte counters are good. You need more outlets than you think. Shout out to the Loon team !
As a cabinetmaker i have built hundreds of kitchens. You have done very well with limited space. If you are having ducted vacuum, get a sweep up point put into the kitchen kickboard.
Great collab guys!👌this video was a pleasure to watch being it an in-depth kitchen analysis. Would love to see Nina cook on the Bering 75! All of you good luck with everything and thanks for making great content!🛳️🌊🥇🎬
If there's one thing I never doubted, is you guys having enough experience and seen enough ideas to really do things well. Also I think you are both perfectionists but still willing to bring in experts (galley, interior design,..). Very humble and clever! This Bering 75 is going to be a reference! And your next Bering is going to be perfect 😜
Changing the sitting area to incorporate the kitchen is a much better use of that space… I LOVE the look of the bench top you chose, and definitely agree with a matte finish 👍
If your counter top is really that durable, maybe you can have them make a couple of cutting boards of different sizes for you. That way, they can be left out temporarily or even used as charcuterie boards. As a beekeeper, I add chunks of honey to our boards when we have company. Just a small tip. Enjoy your content of both channels. My favorite would be the 72.
I love the new layout, it flows so much better. And I totally agree with some of the other comments as many outlets as possible and make sure they’re on separate breakers for each work station so you don’t blow a breaker. I’m so excited for you guys. God bless y’all, from Haysville, Kansas.
I am so glad Nina is back. Her recent video gave us snippets of her wedding which looked amazing. She just oozes so much positivity and professionalism. I know she is doing a cooking series that should be coming out in the near future, I can't wait. You are very lucky to have someone like her to have some input into you design. Steam oven ftw. Another great video!!
For you power outlets in the kitchen, there are a lot of options that can be installed on the underside of the upper cabinets, allows you to keep your walls seamless without being broken up with outlets.
My personal opinion, you can never have too many electrical plugs in the kitchen. Maybe have them placed every 24"'. That way you can use appliances with shorter cords so they're not creating a messy cluster you're constantly trying to untangle. Also, pick up some velcro straps or other means to quickly tidy up cords. A friend of mine cut up some plastic pipe 1 1/2" or 2" in diameter and 4"-5" long, painted the outside so they looked nice and shoved the folded up cords through them. Worked like a charm. I would think if there's square pipe available it would keep the empty pipe from rolling around when empty.
I would certainly have sockets spaced out along under the bar. I would also have some place two or three inches down from the underside on the guest side just in case.
Oh boy where do I start on receptacle locations. Agree with the gentleman about 24" centers. But I would install double duplex receptacles. One to the left of the sink centered, one in the corner, one over in the coffee corner, two to the right of the stove. And make sure each is on their own circuits. Do not combine because if you have multiple items plugged in, this might overload the breaker and trip it. And use 20 GFI receptacles. Also the receptacles to the right of the stove, have one duplex with the USB charging port. I will send you a diagram with specs. Chow. 😉
THIS! You can never have too many outlets but it's easy to have too few. As Vincent said, make sure one or two of the outlets have USB chargers built into them for recharging things such as temperature probes. As Nina said, the chef needs a shell for their radio and phone, consider a wireless charger built into that shelf.
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time and I am very happy to see how far you have come. I’m 64 and being able to charter with you is now on my short bucket list.
Great kitchen, I would love to have that in my appartment 😀 Actually, the next time I can set up one, I want your huge sink! Only one comment: with the sockets, try to have them everywhere and spread them out. The bevel below the raised counter at the seats sounds like a great place for at least 2 and also along every counter space. This allows you to move the appliences if needed or to use mobile appliances as needed. An unused socket doesn't get into the way, especially if nicely covered, but a missing socket means running ugly extensions across your counters. So I would basically have one (or a double one) every 60 cm.
I love Nina and so glad she's on another yacht doing videos. It's great to hear each person's thought process of why something works for them and works better than another way. Thanks for the video!
Hey, I really like the attention to detail in your boat's design, especially the kitchen. Here are some thoughts: - Maybe add outlets in the kitchen that can take USB-C cables next to the regular plugs. It would mean people don't have to bring adapters to charge their phones, especially under the overhang where it might be common. - Have you considered integrating wireless charging into the levitated bar countertop? If it's not too complicated, it might be a convenient feature. Though it might be tricky?! - A warming drawer under the steam oven could be a practical addition and wouldn't take up too much extra space and could be used to warm dishes. - Make sure the sink and induction cooktop are level with the countertop. It'll make cleaning easier. I hope these suggestions are helpful. Thanks for letting me share my ideas!
Totally agree with Nina on the matte option for the counter top. Looks much more fitting for the kitchen. Unpolished marble work surfaces have been used in bakeries and kitchens for hundreds of years. Polished stone is ostentatious for one of the most important working areas of a boat, save the polished finishes for the heads.
I like it! Retired chef, with multiple kitchen remodels under my belt - there is no such thing as too many electrical outlets. Do not scrimp here. Love Nina and she's leading you well - that layout is damned good. Enjoying the build!
When Nina showed us her kitchen I noted that in the corner with all the appliances, they put a plug expander which clearly indicates they need more outlets. I would rather see six GFI's in a row that some expander.
That is a nice layout! I like it better than the original. I did my kitchen two years ago and I had a headache from making all the stress of making design decisions.
So sems like you picked the right person to ask for the outfitting of your galley. Not just that Nina is a great chef, she's also one of my favorite UA-camr's. So I bet her knowledge and your inspiration will turn out great. And let me remind you..DON`T forget the Thermomix AND the PacoJet...2 thing´s I also would put into a great kitchen because of their versatile use and possibilities I have always appreciated.
Love love love the design. Great design review, as said in the the live chat “ As a older engineer, lots of time in a galley. Love the attention to detail.”
I personally like the drawer method of storing spices but in round containers with glass lids with rubber seals to keep them fresh with a label on top so you can clearly identify the color and name of each spice. Then I like to divide the drawer with square dividers to keep them organised and to stop them from sliding around. Where are you storing the plates, bowls, mugs, cups, cutlery etc.? Draws with organization pegs are usually the best on boats for plates and bowls, and boards fitted in the drawers with the diameter of the glasses and mugs drilled out to keep everything neat and secure. I am all about ergonomics, efficiency, and keeping things tidy by giving everything a home.
I love these kinds of discussions! You have put so much thought into the galley! It is gorgeous already!!! I don't know anything about professional chefs and galleys.... but I use so many paper towels and hand towels...places for those should be thought out...and also...where will the chef get recipes??? Is there a need to set up a place/stand for an Ipad (or other tablet) if anything needs to be looked up. ... if the guests sit at the counter, they will want salt and pepper and extra napkins... You don't want the chef having to run off somewhere to retrieve napkins. Also... I always keep salt at hand right at the stove. Yes, my stove gets it's own shaker that is not allowed to wander around the kitchen. If your microwave is a combo convection/ microwave, then that gets you an additional oven, but I don't know that you need it. .... and my new favorite $25 kitchen appliance...a crepe maker! ...so easy and so delicious! Oh!!! Where are you getting water! And ICE!!! Do you have an ice maker? ...back to the water... I am guessing there is no water filter in the fridge, so will the water from the tap be drinking water quality...reverse osmosis and all that jazz? Maybe all the ship's water is that way from the water maker, so there is no further filtration... So... would a guest always have to ask for a drink of water, or would they wander into the galley to the sink to get water, or is there another place to refill a glass of water?..I am guessing the bathroom sink would not be ideal. Would you have an instant hot water tap anywhere? I have also seen taps in the kitchen that dispense sparkling water. I might put another small little sink over by the microwave where people can wash their hands without automatically going into the galley, and they could also grab cold water or hot water for tea or sparkling water. It might be over the top, but just a thought to keep people (even your crew) out of the chef's way.
Whoa, what a great working design. I realize you might change things but what a great starting point. With most ideas you had, your consultant was amazed and liking it. The difference between a pro-chef and a working/crew/owner/live aboard owner is just a choice. You hit it out of the park. Great job on the design and the video as normal.
Finding this person to help you with your semi-pro kitchen was and continues to be a great resource for you. She is giving you her input in a Loving way. WOW! And; you are listening to her. 10/10.
It’s so cool to see Nina’s helping you guys out and it’s also great to see her back making contact herself! All of you are so much fun to watch! Keep it up guys.
Love the kitchen. It’s wonderful when you can make the best choices for each piece. Your pull-out cabinet is terrific. I installed one when when i did my kitchen about 15 years ago. It was a splurge at that time, but it really is functional. Everyone is amazed when they see it.
I don't know anything about on board water makers but I will share what some cooks have told me. The quality of the water has a big effect on how food and drinks taste. My understanding is that some water purifiers will add certain minerals back into the water to improve taste. I remember when Snapple was first available on the West Coast. People said it wasn't as good as they remember it being in NY. It turns out to have been the water that made the difference.
Thanks for allowing us to view the thought process of your build, I can't help saying I'm soooo excited for you guys, much love. I'm anxious for your next visit to the shipyard.
This was one of the best “new boat” videos you’ve e done. You should do more collaborations with experts explaining your choices and getting advice from the best minds on the subject. I really really enjoyed this one.
Lots of great tips and things to think about in setting up a kitchen or galley. Victoria, in visiting the home of a husband and wife architect team in Istanbul, they had the counters around the sink slightly pitched to the sink and the sink rim flush with the countertop. That always stuck with me as it made the cleanup so much easier as any moisture always drained into the sink. Having sailed across the ocean I know at sea everything can be pitched in the galley unlike on land....yet an idea to throw in the mix.
Victoria, between you and Rico, you have both developed extensive knowledge of internal yacht design and layout. Including mechanical, furnishings and practical layouts. Both of you now have the credentials to be consultants to new build owners as well as renovations. A unique combination of experience that will serve you well. Congratulations. 🎉
@NautiGuys As a very experienced boater, I admire the nautical knowledge and human chemistry you two have achieved. What you have accomplished together is an achievement that proven executives would dream of in their benchmarks for hiring. Continue to capitalize on your achievements, but don't drown on them...just smartly manage them. Submitted with great respect. BILL.
11:55 That might have been one thing I might have done differently and gone with a "Gaggenau Full surface induction cooktop" as it is soooo much more versatile as you can literally put anything (pots, pans, planchas, griddle plates, etc.) on it and arrange it freely (it even remembers settings when you move pots around).
Love the Galley design and the many innovative inclusions and their placements Ladies! Beautiful! Well done✨✨Love the Build updates👏👏 My lil suggestion, I have a Thermomix and love it! If you include one in your cooking arsenal, make the area above the Thermomix high enough to be able to include the Varoma steam cooking attachment and with bit more space above too, plus, if it can be done, include a extraction fan above it or very close to one for venting the heat/steam generated. Otherwise you’ll have dripping wet overhead cupboards! Or keep the Thermomix in an open area. The Thermomix has sensitive scales in its ‘feet’ it’s recommended not to drag it around in case of damaging those scales. Just happily sharing some info, cheers Jen n Co 💐🐨
When I ripped out and rebuilt the interior of my RV, I put outlets every 6 feet, top and bottom (sound system, TV, Starlink etc in the uppers, my computer, fridge, range etc etc in the lowers), and I still find I need additional outlets for things and have to plug in Power strips on a cpl of them. The more outlets (within your boats ability to manage draw from them), the better in my thoughts.
You are good to go on the Dekton countertop! I think matte finish would look awesome over polished. Especially in the design pattern you’ve picked. It mimic’s natural stone so matte is better. I used to work for a quartz manufacturer and sold material to fabricators. So I know you’ve picked an excellent material for your kitchen. It will withstand a lot of use and hold its beauty 😊
Incredible. Thanks for sharing. Gave me ideas to make our kitchens and pantries more efficient in our homes. No Hobart dishwashers though. Wish you all the best as you continue the project.
Very nice kitchen layout! When do we get to see the 3D which is in your video thumbnail? 😉 I also noticed that Bering's website now has some images of your original kitchen and salon layout on the B75 page. Definitely think the latest version is better!
Nice to see things moving along. To think this is just the galley with so much thought going forward & with all the other spaces on-board still to consider. Congratulations so far & looking forward to seeing other spaces.🙏🇨🇦👍
Victoria and Rico, you came up with some brilliant ideas for the galley. I especially loved the pull out shelves for the corner, the extra deep drawers, expanding to along that wall, and the Hobart dishwasher. (They used to own Kitchenaid years ago.) Will you be going with counter depth refrigerators?
I like that you decided to put the additional refrigeration against that outside wall as you already decided to close off that door. But I also thought that with a tabletop surface there it would be nice to push through provisions through a half top door onto the inside table and eliminate back a fourth through the galley or salon area with provisions.
The commercial dishwasher is the bomb! Most people don't realize an average dishwasher takes over an hour. And a commercial is like 2 minutes . I had my cousin almost talked into getting one but he didn't want to pay the extra. It would probably be the last dishwasher you will ever buy! You "guys" are definitely doing it right !!!
Fun, fun, fun. Thanks for showing all this behind the scenes content. Been following Chef for a few weeks now. Now I follow Loon as well. Wondering if you put in a dumb waiter, didn't see it in the drawing, as all the kitchen platters, etc, that come from the galley will have to get back down, whether they are pre-washed or not.
Victoria, could you add some links or product names to the things you highlighted? countertop material, those pull out shelves, commercial dish washer, etc??? Thanks!
I have been following Nina since her first video. She is a natural on UA-cam. I hope between her career and married life can find time to do a collab with you guys and be chef for a day on your Bering!! :)
With the space available, your galley is really impressive. Pro input makes a big difference (and the last changes giving you more space for extra freezer etc). Most yachts this size have a 'owner galley', and while pretty, many of them are useless for real work. Yours will be great, and I think Nina is right... a better galley brings a better chef. More importantly, any chef will work so much better in the proper space. Congrats! 😊
I can't believe it. My two favorite UA-camrs together... Unbelievable!!!

Thank youuu
Finding this person to help you with your semi-pro kitchen was and continues to be a great resource for you. She is giving you her input in a Loving way. WOW! And; you are listening to her. 10/10.
Yes! Thank you!
Loved seeing Nina giving her input on your galley! and hopefully you can meet up 🤞
It's looking amazing, can't wait to see the finished result. So good to get Nina's input and hope you guys catch up and we get to see it.
We will!
It’s so cool to see Nina’s helping you guys out and it’s also great to see her back making contact herself! All of you are so much fun to watch! Keep it up guys.
Absolutely!!
Love the kitchen. It’s wonderful when you can make the best choices for each piece. Your pull-out cabinet is terrific. I installed one when when i did my kitchen about 15 years ago. It was a splurge at that time, but it really is functional. Everyone is amazed when they see it.
Amazing - happy to hear! 💙🙏
Amazing video. I love it when some of my favorite channels collaborate. I always felt the kitchen should be high priority when designing a yacht/home.
I totally agree!
Thanks for allowing us to view the thought process of your build, I can't help saying I'm soooo excited for you guys, much love. I'm anxious for your next visit to the shipyard.
Awwwww sooo happy to hear that
Two of my favourite people together! And informative too! 😉
🥳🥳
This was one of the best “new boat” videos you’ve e done. You should do more collaborations with experts explaining your choices and getting advice from the best minds on the subject. I really really enjoyed this one.
awwww thank you so much for the kind words 💙🙏
@@NautiGuys this truly was on another level. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing this great idea! 💙🙏
Awwww thanks for the kind words WIlliam!
BILL.
It's gonna be beautiful! ...and that Chef is amazingly helpful for you guys! So excited!
Happy to hear!
Great Video! The galley is perfect!!! Victoria and Nina are amazing :)
This is now one of my top 5 videos. Sooooo much fun to watch. 🎉❤
Happy you enjoyed it
Nice! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Same here 😝🥳🥳
I love it!!!
I'm getting so excited
11:55 That might have been one thing I might have done differently and gone with a "Gaggenau Full surface induction cooktop" as it is soooo much more versatile as you can literally put anything (pots, pans, planchas, griddle plates, etc.) on it and arrange it freely (it even remembers settings when you move pots around).
Thanks Marcus
Love the Galley design and the many innovative inclusions and their placements Ladies! Beautiful! Well done✨✨Love the Build updates👏👏
My lil suggestion, I have a Thermomix and love it!
🥳🙌🏼 yes! Thank you for sharing
13:13 LOVE YOU GUYS. Could you please provide the manufacturer of the organic bucket and the corner organizers
You're so fortunate to have Nina's input.
I know 🙏🏻🥳
OK, GREAT job on the new layout!!! Love how you pushed items to the outer wall!!!!!
awwww thank you so much 💙🙏
@@NautiGuys We think alike, that's groovy!
Thank you so much for sharing
You are good to go on the Dekton countertop! I think matte finish would look awesome over polished. Especially in the design pattern you’ve picked. It mimic’s natural stone so matte is better. I used to work for a quartz manufacturer and sold material to fabricators. So I know you’ve picked an excellent material for your kitchen. It will withstand a lot of use and hold its beauty 😊
Incredible. Thanks for sharing. Gave me ideas to make our kitchens and pantries more efficient in our homes. No Hobart dishwashers though. Wish you all the best as you continue the project.
Happy to hear that it gave you some ideas - thank you so much for watching!
So exciting for you and us!!! 🛥️⚓️🌊❤️🔥🤙
Love the interplay. Pot and pan stowage and counter-top machines (food processor, stand mixer, pasta maker, toaster) take up a ton of volume.
👌
Very nice kitchen layout! When do we get to see the 3D which is in your video thumbnail? 😉
I also noticed that Bering's website now has some images of your original kitchen and salon layout on the B75 page. Definitely think the latest version is better!
Very soon!
Nice to see things moving along. To think this is just the galley with so much thought going forward & with all the other spaces on-board still to consider. Congratulations so far & looking forward to seeing other spaces.🙏🇨🇦👍
🥳🥳🥳
🛥🛥🛥
Awesome episode! Finally caught some of one live! Whoot! 👍👍👊👊 Lots of galley talk! like coffee talk but not! 🤣🤣😂😂👍👍
🥳🙏🏻🙌🏼 so glad it worked out!
@@NautiGuys 👍👍
Victoria and Rico, you came up with some brilliant ideas for the galley. I especially loved the pull out shelves for the corner, the extra deep drawers, expanding to along that wall, and the Hobart dishwasher. (They used to own Kitchenaid years ago.) Will you be going with counter depth refrigerators?
Yes! Glad you liked it
This Gallery is going to be Awesome, super exciting. Loved the Video.
You Guys are Awesome 🌞⚓️👍🌈
Thank you our Best Friend from Canada 😝🥳
Galley OMG
I like that you decided to put the additional refrigeration against that outside wall as you already decided to close off that door. But I also thought that with a tabletop surface there it would be nice to push through provisions through a half top door onto the inside table and eliminate back a fourth through the galley or salon area with provisions.
Thanks for sharing Brad
Love the spice idea will be looking for some containers like that!
Great to see the Nauti's collaboration with The Crew Chef 👨🍳 😀 love watching you both 😀 👍
Happy to hear - thank you so much Ralph
My husband had a root canal in Ville Franche sur Mer while we were on a Med Cruise only cost 30 euros
wow
The commercial dishwasher is the bomb! Most people don't realize an average dishwasher takes over an hour. And a commercial is like 2 minutes . I had my cousin almost talked into getting one but he didn't want to pay the extra. It would probably be the last dishwasher you will ever buy! You "guys" are definitely doing it right !!!
awww we are so excited
Victoria+Nina talkin' shop! ❤ NOW if we can get Rico+Marshmello on the " dance" deck collab!😮 Thank you for sharing this @Nautiguys. I needed this!
lol 🤪🤣
I have the corner pull out wire drawers in my kitchen... so nice, worth the money and makes the space actually usable versus a dumping ground.
👌
Hey! I really like TheCrewChef! Fabulous having her on your channel.
she is amazing isn’t she
Very nice ! Can’t wait to see the next episode !
🥳🥳🥳
Fun, fun, fun. Thanks for showing all this behind the scenes content. Been following Chef for a few weeks now. Now I follow Loon as well.
Wondering if you put in a dumb waiter, didn't see it in the drawing, as all the kitchen platters, etc, that come from the galley will have to get back down, whether they are pre-washed or not.
Great Job! Now the tough part, finding a chef who is worthy of that galley. 😄
Thank you soooo much!
💙🙏
Best bit of kit in our home kitchen is a dedicated plate warmer. A must have in my opinion.

@@NautiGuys Thanks for reading my comment, and replying. Can't wait to see the finished ship!
Awesome galley design! My mouth is watering just thinking about all of the delicious food that will be made in it. 😎
You and me both!
Great video. Very fun and informative insights.
Thanks Edward
With the space available, your galley is really impressive. Pro input makes a big difference (and the last changes giving you more space for extra freezer etc). Most yachts this size have a 'owner galley', and while pretty, many of them are useless for real work. Yours will be great, and I think Nina is right... a better galley brings a better chef. More importantly, any chef will work so much better in the proper space. Congrats! 😊
Awwww thank you for the kind words!
Congrats guys!
Great video! Loved the design! Loved the countertop! I loved it all!
awwwww thank you
Thankyou Victoria and Ricco
Great collaboration - helps make everything "real".
I’m so grateful to Nina for working with us on this 🥳🥳
