Glad you done this video . I have a 95 4x4 that I have a rebuilt g56 installed with a Val air twin disc . Rebuilt tcase . One thing that I don't like is a slight leak from the I assume g56 . I going to pull the t case and installed a gasket and use case sealer on both surfaces after there clean. For one thing when I bought the g56 I had to have the out shaft replaced from worn splines . So if the area between the units has some oil in it not water then may be the splines will last longer . Any way I tired of a slight leak gear oil . Nice job on the first Gen now I in the process of installing the floor shifter from a 2000 dodge ram . I installed a one piece aluminum drive rear . I saw a utube video where a guy installed a g56 in a first Gen. He bought a shifter assembly bracket that bolted to the transmission for a first Gen
Nice! I built a 47RH for my truck, but I think a NV or an Eaton Fuller 10 speed would've been sick too. Kind of a wash money wise, time will tell if I made the right call.
from what I understand the way torque is delivered from a Cummins it's extremely hard on any transmission, usually built dodge transmissions are pretty damn good so you should be fine
Awesome video! I have an 85 chev crew dually 1st gen with a 5 speed Clark out of an international. Long legged for sure especially reverse.. so much that its not possible to back up with a decent trailer attached.. So im thinking of doing the NV5600 2WD..How is your truck for backing up? Remember i wont have a transfer case so just hoping it will be low geared enough to back up with a heavy trailer.. Thanks buddy!
Hello sir what is the size and gauge you used for that box on the custom mount is it 8 gauge 3” box? And how long is the top and how long is the bottom, I’m doing my swap now
My guesstimate is 2.5”x4.5”box steel cut at 14” at the bottom and 5.5” at the top, 4 9/16 holes drilled in the top for Trans side and two 1.25” holes in the bottom for the crossmember side
Hey man I have a 95 12v I am currently doing the 6 speed swap can I use the nv4500 hydraulics so I can use the twist in style so I don’t have to try and drill the holes in the fire wall for the bolt in kind
OK I have a g56 installed with a rebuilt tc and a one piece aluminum drive in my 95 4x4. . The hydraulic slave just twist into fire wall . Not sure which 6 speed your using .
@mrpolarisindy500 I know this is a long shot but in the video you said you used a 2nd gen front drive line . Do you know what one you used ? Was it an auto or manual 5 speed or 6 speed ?
Hey, nice truck... I'm looking to buy a the exact setup for my truck(transmission/adaptor/ transfer case... if you know of one I will pay you for it. I will come and pick it up in the spring. My family and friends live there. I have no problem trusting you. I know you wouldn't take advantage. If you have to remove it I will pay you a very fair wage for that also! I can't find these parts here in Washington state. I'm from Merrill, Wi. I know I could find them there, if I lived there still. These truck rust out in Wisconsin... Not here... they die a very slow death. Usually drunk driving or some such. I'm building a quad cab first gen one ton dually 4x4... I have Getrag now.
@@mrpolarisindy500 why can't you use a 3rd gen adapter plate? I've heard the common rail adapter plate will bolt to a 12 valve with the exception of one bolt
you can use 3rd gen plate but 2 bolt holes will not be able to be used. using a 2nd gen 12v or 24v will work but u will need a starter spacer for the starter to fit the nv5600 flywheel
When I was younger, my dad had a '92 first gen 6 speed swap.
Great overview man. Cheers 🍻
Love your truck.

Want to make another transmission mount?
Hello sir what is the size and gauge you used for that box on the custom mount is it 8 gauge 3” box? And how long is the top and how long is the bottom, I’m doing my swap now
Ya I’d like to know the total distance from the top of the factory crossmember to bottom of the nv5600
My guesstimate is 2.5”x4.5”box steel cut at 14” at the bottom and 5.5” at the top, 4 9/16 holes drilled in the top for Trans side and two 1.25” holes in the bottom for the crossmember side
How Does the speedo work?
Clean installation.
Besides the extra gear why this trans over the nv4500?
Nv4500 had a 1 1/8 input shaft which people complained was too weak. Nv5600 has a 1 3/8 input shaft much more stout
What s the size of the tire?? look good😊
What did uou do for speedo mate?
Any floor mods to auto floor?
Hey! Are you running the stock hydraulics out of a 24 valve 6 speed 2nd gen?
Hey man I have a 95 12v I am currently doing the 6 speed swap can I use the nv4500 hydraulics so I can use the twist in style so I don’t have to try and drill the holes in the fire wall for the bolt in kind

How much did this cost ya? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m wanting to do the same thing to my first gen.
Hard to say for sure but probably in the neighborhood of 3K all said and done
what gearing are your axels? are you able to go faster or get better mileage?
3.55 gears and the truck used to have 4.10 gears so yes it does cruise down the highway at a lower rpm and get better fuel mileage
@@mrpolarisindy500 hi buddy , how much for your truck ?

Do you usu 2nd gen 12 valve or 24 valve adapter plate?
You can use any adapter plate from a second gen 12v or 24v. You can not use a first gen or third gen adapter pale
