    They have totally mis understand this. She is strong! She is confident in her role as a mom! She said yes to her family and put the horribly toxic, nasty culture of Hollywood in its place. She's freaking fierce and an amazing role model to women everywhere!!!!

    Sara Beth made the right choice and I admire her for that. Being a mother to your own cheerleaders (your kids) is so much better than being rich and famous for strangers. She will be the light and the apple of her children's eyes. A mothers' sacrifices and love for her children will last for future generations in her family. It is an inheritance of love and stability she is giving her offspring. No one can replace a mother. She definitely made the right choice.

      @@mo-sl4bj I said I would never have kids, too. #1 (out of 2) was an oopsie (two forms of birth control and ironically I still got pregnant). And yet she and her sister are the best things that have ever happened to me. My old dreams don't compare to my new dreams with my family-these new dreams greatly exceed my ambitions before. Today, I am flying out with my oldest daughter to Colombia, South America (our sixth time there with her) for the next ten days. We love to travel together. I didn't start living until I had kids. Everything became new, going to the zoo with a toddler and her seeing her favorite animal (an elephant) for the first time gave me more joy than I ever thought possible. I was really missing out before I had kids-I was stuck in a rut and thought I knew what I wanted to do, but I was self centered which made me super miserable. Now, I live to give and honestly have found my life and a lot of joy! :) My "kids" are now 21 and 23 and I enjoy them so much! I can't imagine life without them.

      @@mo-sl4bj Women don't have to sacrifice their dreams completely..it's okay to postpone them a bit and do what you feel is right in your gut. I think that's what Sara is doing. As a mother, she SHOULD follow that gut feeling. She's right, her babies need her right now and she needs them. They are only little for a short time. There is no reason why she wouldn't be able to continue pursuing her dream in a different way that works for her and her family. This show is not the end all be all of pursing this kind of dream. I was on this path in Nashville and then realized, having a family was more important to me than continuing on a path that wasn't necessarily going to bring me the kind of joy and fulfillment as having a family of my own. I don't regret it for one second. I still love to sing, I just do it for me and whoever else wants to listen though and that's enough for me. People think being famous is this, always wonderful, fulfilling thing. Sometimes it isn't. That industry is brutal. It tries to absorb you. It takes A LOT of effort to not lose yourself completely. There are other ways to fulfill a dream of singing for others. Some even find a way of making a living from it, without all the intensity of being "famous".

    • @enikan73
      @enikan73 Рік тому +1

      She haven't used enough time Just on her kids to "lose herself" yet. There will come a time for everyone when not doing things for themselves the feeling of having lost a piece of own personality. That is what happens after some years. And Sara Beth is Sooo God! She could win ALL of this! Also, if signing with a record label she would secure her and All her Family Future. I HOPE she sign up with someone and does a career of this! *This kind of uniqueness is So Rare! And Sara Beth Got IT! The Full Package!

    • @sommermcdaniel9723
      @sommermcdaniel9723 Рік тому

      It was the right choice for her. I definitely think that it is never a bad choice if its for selfless reasons especially for raising kids. However, people don't just want to sing for fame. If singing is your passion and you want to make money at your passion, it involves media presence. If you don't have supporters you will not make money on it and therefore cannot fulfill that dream. So I think wanting to be a mother to your kids and having a passion for music that you want to make a career out of are 2 different things. One is not better than the other, because one requires fame to have success.

    Mad props. Mama can sing. Total respect for her courage and wisdom to say no to what is good and yes to what is best. ❤️ No, self love is not on par with mother love. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends…. or in this case, that she lay down her life for her children. Young children BOND WITH THEIR MOTHER, up to about age 4 to 5 (that's IF the newborn/infant bonded with the mother in the first place). It's not really optional for a mom, AND it takes being present (although with zoom, etc. maybe some absense can be okay - I raised my kiddos before the zoom age). After 4 or 5, kids start venturing out more and bonding with others more. If they are a son they will naturally go towards their father to bond with more. Daughters will still have that bond with their mothers as the same sex example, but to a lesser degree as they venture out into the world, That original bond with mother and child (and with father) forms a foundation of security.

    Self love shouldn’t come before mothers love. Your kids need you they are helpless without you. The time to pursue your dreams is before motherhood or when your kids are a little older and don’t need you as much. I absolutely think she made the right choice. To be away from your kids so long just for a chance isn’t worth it. If her heart isn’t in it why should she force it? It means she’s not ready no one said she can’t try again when her kids are older and she is ready.

      @@gloriakummer5357 it means you sacrifice for you children because they come first. before your potential career even. Would kids sense you don’t love yourself? i dunno are most kids psychics? do you watch stranger things a lot? i mean i guess what i was expecting for commenting on a video where people come to watch american idol. i did this to myself.

      She said self love is as important as motherly love and its true. If you don't love and care for yourself you can't be the best for the people you love and care about. It's important to invest in yourself emotionally, physically, spiritually. That being said, I think her choice to go home is great because that's what she wanted. She seems happy as a mom and as a tiktok personality and that's great for her. I wish her happiness.

    Way to go Sara. Family first. That’s not something the participants in the “vanity fair” are likely to understand. I like Katy, but the idea that your self-love should be just as important as your love as a parent is the root of a lot of today’s problems. And no, it’s not running away to avoid rejection either 🙄. The awesome thing about being a young mom is that Sara will be plenty young enough to pursue her dreams on whatever scale she wants once her kids are older. I loved hearing her sing this song.

      I gotta say, as a mom of four who married at 19 (and is still married 29 years later), I totally agree with Katy! One love is not above the other and what you teach your kids by sacrificing yourself to them is not good stuff. There’s no reason it has to be you OR them! The best possible example you can be to your kids is the person who nurtures and treasures them AND you - the woman who is unapologetically herself and chases her dreams while chasing her kids and encouraging them to be themselves. It’s not one or the other. You can and should love and raise yourself and adore and raise your children. You should be committed to both. ❤

      Women like katy perry who says that self love is on par with motherly love is why the youth and families are in shambles in this generation. No, its not the same. Self love is way less important than motherly love, you can create poetic things to say but in reality its NEVER

    • @rsmrw
      @rsmrw Рік тому +1

      I'm shocked this is your mindset honestly. You do realize that you cannot perform your parental role to furthest potential if you don't give yourself the love you deserve? I think you're a little confused. Society has led MORE women to believe that once we have our children, our wants hopes and dreams go out the window and we need to be in the kitchen preparing a chicken dinner while hubby is at work and your kids playing in the yard. Totally unrecognizable to the girl you once were because you're too focused enslaving yourself for your children. Havent brushed your hair in a week. Go almost all day without eating. Lose all your friends and are completely iscolated because from the minute you wake up til go to sleep you are constantly waiting on your tiny humans. This is something so many mothers do. More than not. We need to break OUT of the idea that once we become mothers we cannot put our needs at the top WITH our babies needs. They are EQUALLY as important. We need to be GENUINELY happy for our babies, not putting on a face. We need to show our babies that we can fulfill our dreams even after having them so they learn that its possible. Emphasis on the "needs" part. I am not talking about neglecting your children to do what you want, like party or drinking to excess. That's not something anyone needs anyway. There needs to be a balance between motherly and self love. It's often impossible but thats because we need to train society to think differently so we don't forget to care for ourselves. It's so deeply ingrained in our minds, going back generations and generations.
      If she wants to be a mama and pursue her dream career, she damn well should. I think her ending statement there said more about why she's leaving than anything. She said "I just feel like I'm not going to win anyway so I'm just going to leave"..... I think she let her self doubt about her talent and possible feelings of shame for not being there for her kids lead her to think she needed to leave. Which, that's her choice.. but I hope she did it because she felt it was the *right* choice for everyone. Including her.
      If she just wasn't ready and couldn't handle the pressure on her back, then I'm glad she left. Mental health is the most important thing and we need to stop putting it on the back burner. Please don't ever preach that anywhere because you're just re enforcing that whole mothers come last idea and that's so toxic and wrong.

    • @rsmrw
      @rsmrw Рік тому

      @April Little EXACTLY. I think society needs to break OUT of this mindset. We need to learn that when our children are born, our souls, dreams, and wants don't have to die. We don't have to lose ourselves and dedicate our lives to care for these tiny human beings. We need to learn to create a healthy BALANCE between the two because our kids can tell when their parents are run down, hopeless, regretful, and unfulfilled. If we want to teach our kids that they can do anything they want in life (if you work hard enough) then we have to be a good example of that. It shouldn't be a scary thing to have kids. I feel like this also plays a huge role in post partum depression. The more we tell ourselves that we don't matter any more, the worse our mental health will be (even physical health) and not only will we suffer but so will our children. I hate that people think this way.. it's not right and the logic is so outdated and flat out wrong. I always say that saying in the mom groups I'm in "a happy mama is a happy baby".
      Any time I'm having a terrible day my 1 year old KNOWS... even if I try like hell to conceal my stress, she knows.

    There will be plenty of time for her to kick off her music career and follow her dreams once her babies are a little older but she will never get this time with them again, it is the most precious thing in life and I commend her devotion and her priorities. It's not just a sacrifice for her kids, it's for her too, for her soul to be at peace. She is absolutely following her heart and it's brave and admirable! Breath of fresh air. I agree and disagree. Life is all about living in the moment and sometimes you don't get opportunities like this often. You don't know what tomorrow holds. I am a mother and it is important for our children to see us sacrifice for our dreams just as well as we sacrifice for them. I actually think that her kids being so little is an advantage to her. It seems that she has a great loving support system behind her and it was something that made her go to Idol in the first place. I think she should stick it out. And this coming from a mother.

    I quit singing for 20 years and recently started back up (church singing), but felt a little discouraged because my voice was having difficulties getting up to par, especially after having Covid only 6 months prior. Someone told me that they never let any challenges stop them from making music. So what if it is different than what we'd like. So what if there are setbacks. So what if other beautiful blessings come into our lives that change our path. You can keep making music. We live in an era of the ability to self-publish, to put yourself out there, to be independent. She might be happiest there, gigs, a fan base, but still down home and not slave to the industry.

    She seems like a sensitive, unique woman with a big heart and majorly talented. I have no idea what her best balancing act of priorities are: music vs family. Only she knows that. Deeply personal decision. Wish her all the best, hope she keeps being true to her mind and heart and staying authentic and exploring gently stretching the comfort zone. A commenter below said she released a song on UA-cam called Last October, woo-hoo, will check it out! Rooting for ya and for all these brave artists.
