So it may come down to who is the better scorer, and again judging by a casual observation of the media coverage, it looks like Caitlin Clark is a much better scorer. Plus I read that Caitlin Clark’s team is up 3-1 against Angel Reese’s team. It doesn’t matter to me who wins. Kelsea Plum, Nneka, Ionescu should be getting highlighted as well. They are ALL part of pushing the game forward...not just Clark and Reese. But, as per usual ESPN is being paid to push AGENDAS and NARRATIVES and are apparently biased in their commentaries and debates.
This isn't really Clarke's fault, but she's going to have to bear the brunt of the scrunity and the criticisms because ESPN is going out of their way to push her to the detriment of other players past/present who deserve their flowerz first.

I can’t stand SAS but I don’t believe this is true. Molly is basically a moderator so she signed up to take some jabs. She dishes it back too.
The point many of those women are and were making is that folks were uninterested in a sport until someone told them they needed to watch. Those that were already watching are correct in saying CC isn’t doing anything new… or at an unprecedented level for players in the league or even on the college level. I think a big part of the pay back is in crowning her queen without winning anything at the college level.

Catlin Clark is a good player but damn she is not the best player. She hasn’t won nothing. Additionally, why should the WNBA promote her as the face of the league, yet the same people complain that Jordan, James and Kobe were considered the face of the NBA. The difference is they are all champions. Let the young lady earn her strips. Until then just shut up and let them ball.

Why do people act like SAS doesn’t cover the hottest topics in sports? He could’ve talked about the WNBA before but nobody really gave a shit, so he and his producers likely felt they could get more eyes talking about stuff people wanna hear about. Now that you have a player bringing eyes to the sport (and the media creating narratives around her and her peers) they get more latitude to discuss the women’s game. It’s like women and people like McNutt are determined to penalize people and talk down on their interest just because they started to pay attention now - “You’re not a real fan because you haven’t talked about the W before,” or “you can’t be a fan of the new school because you didn’t properly acknowledge the old school.” Like just be happy they’re getting pub, celebrate the new players, and big up the ones who’ve been doing it when you have the chance.
