when i found out what happend to Sunny it made me realize how far from surfing I had gotten. still brings tears to hear this story. 10 years ago I got to learn while I was stationed in Hawaii, a year ago with my wife and cat accidentally moved from Oklahoma to Florida, I lost everything in the process of being "unsure" of where we were going to go, but I am proud to say I felt like I was drowning on dry land. Its weird surfing and trying to be cool and be stoked for people but inside everything is numb and miles away almost like scary too for me, like something really bads about to happen. lol. I cant put a finger on it. Sometimes ill see a dolphin or something and I feel pretty relaxed but its all a process I guess.
sad that he really wanted to live but still got taken down. Doctors and medication are really a necessity when it comes to this illness, as much as Sunny resisted it. Mateship, diet and exercise are all great things but are simply not enough on their own to tackle the beast of severe depression.
People love to talk shit about this guy. Everyone fucks up okay. Where people go after that takes time and hopefully they get better. It seems like he's on his way. God forgives. That's all that matters. Don't listen to negative ppl.
