I’m not surprised the owner of Guild is also a wine aficionado. I own 4 Guilds, spanning the 70’s through 2019 and every one of them is a fine instrument-American, Korean, Chinese, all quality.
Love Guild.... Just bought a F-512 12 string. If you've never picked one up....you need to. The most amazing 12-string I've ever played. I have a feeling Guild will be gaining alot of market share in the next few years.
My two favorite brands under one roof. Guild couldn’t have a better home. I have wanted to acquire a Guild 12 string for some time ,but was worried about the new iteration of the company. Under Cordoba’s control ,I have no doubt that the new Guilds will be built to the same high standards. Oh boy! Hooray!
Happy with my Guild M-20 USA made guitar. Love it as much as my Martin 00-18V. Only complaint..... Cordoba needs to get more Guild dealers to carry these wonderful guitars in music stores. I had a very hard time locating a store in my area (Boston) that carries Guild /USA Made Guild Guitars. Johnston Strings in Newton MA was the only music store that had the Guild-M20 and they only had the ONE I purchased. I had them install a Fender Matrix pick up and I'm very happy with the sound acoustically and through the Fishman Loudbox. Thank you again Cordoba for giving Guild a home ! :-)
I got one Guild, as a beginner I thought it was a American brand but disappointed when I learn it was made in China even though I love this guitar. One day I definitely will get a us made one.
In the 1970's, I bought a Guild D 40, made in the USA in the 1960's. It is a killer mahogany dreadnought. Everyone that plays it, wants to buy it from me.
I was a bit disappointed in this post to loose ,really didn't go into the history of any of the guitars. Why was wine mentioned in this conversation. Not much was said about the direction of the comp with two solid brand names...?????
I wish him the best of luck. I'm not a business man, but not sure why you would go to California. Seems to me there are other tax friendly states to place a company.
Ummmmmm, how about giving credit to the luthier German Vazquez Rubio who created the guitar then with a deal with Disney, Cordoba ran the cheap knock-offs? Wow, takes some cojones not to mention the guy who actually designed and built the guitar.

Great interview! I love hearing about the manufactuers and how they got where they are today.....and I'm happy Guild is in the right hands!
Good on Guild for finding a responsive home. Good on Cordoba for doing this :)

I would like to see them make a Tommy Smothers signature model D-45.
What does wine have to do with this subject? I wanted to hear about the new born again Guild

Don't change the D55 , that would be a big mistake
