Entire aisles in grocery stores feature canned foods, ranging from sauces to sweets. For centuries, canning has been used to preserve food, keeping food available throughout the year.

Canned vegetables are numerous, and I am particular to canned corn, canned black beans, and canned tomatoes. I like combining these all to make a quick and easy taco casserole. The best thing about this casserole is the canned vegetables I use can be easily swapped for others! Pick your favourites and create a deliciously spicy meal. This casserole is great for a lazy day, or when you are so busy you need to just throw something together and bake it in the oven.
The spices used are: paprika, cayenne, coriander, cumin, chili powder, oregano, black pepper, salt, and garlic powder.
Canned tuna is a staple in my house, and while it can be used for a lot of things, tuna sandwiches have proven to be the quick and filling go-to meal. With fresh cucumber, dill, and green onion, the tuna is balanced perfectly, ensuring that the fishy taste isn't overpowering. Paired with sourdough bread, this sandwich will become a new favourite, especially when you're short on time!
