No joke. I was The Uninvited Guest that made my parents get married. Going to see Merciful Fate in just a few days first time they've been back in the US in 22 years. King Diamond sounds amazing from the videos I've seen on this tour and the guys like 70 years old and still destroys.
The last concert I saw before lockdowns happened was King Diamond, and, yeah, he definitely destroys. I remember in particular he played A Mansion In Darkness and The Lake and didn't miss a single note. I figured one of those might give him a little trouble at his age, but he did them both effortlessly while walking nonstop the whole time. I'm impressed by the man to begin with but that impressed me even more. He's just phenomenal.
@@chaospoet I couldn't agree more. I saw that same tour and he sounded remarkable. He's fine wine that keeps getting better, and I think he's just mindful of what he can and can't do and has made the set list accordingly. Some of that early Merciful Fate stuff is very very high register-wise so it will be interesting to see how he's doing these days. I suspect it will be phenomenal. Cheers.
Filmed at the old Højerup Church at the Stevns Peninsula on Zealand, Denmark. Part of the church fell into the sea because of corrosion. Denner, Shermann, Bjarne T Holm on drums and bass player Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy). The church choir fell into the ocean in 1928. So they decided to built a new church further inland. The old church are bulit on Stevns Klint that are on UNESCOs World Heritage list. There are a thin layer of fish clay that tells the story about why the dinosaurs went extinct. King Diamond does all the singing so the harmonies are done by him in the studio
Hank Shermann from Mercyful Fate broke with the band in the mid 80's and formed the band Fate. So it's a bad idea to call Mercyful Fate for Fate since Fate was some poppy hardrock
Ill see Mercyful Fate this december on my city here in México!! with STRYPER together!! YES!!... the Good and the Evil... God and Satán together...in a same stage!! Hail Satán!!
I remember in that mid nineties time period a lot of metal bands were going alternative and Mercyful Fate were just pumping out old school bad ass metal year after year. Great reaction! Check out Castillo del Mortes (House of the Dead) off Time album for a good story and killer riffs.
You want Dad jokes? You got it! - What happens when you accidentally wash down a laxative with Holy Water? You have a Religious Movement! - What did the Mama Cow say to the Baby Cow? It's pasture bedtime! - How do you make a bouncy water bed? Use spring water! - Why did the man with tattoos let the sad woman color them? Because sometimes you need a shoulder to crayon. - What's blue and not heavy? Light blue! - And my personal favorite: What do you get when you cross a Grizzly Bear and a Mountain Lion? Killed. You get killed. P.S. Long live The King!
(at 8:30 of the video watching you two arguing about there being an old man waiting to be invited) I never paid attention to the lyrics, but knowing the band I can guess the little old man is probably satan or something.
YES!!! More fate and king diamond PLEASE!! Y’all rock!
Welcome to both King Diamond/Mercyful Fate family!!!

a poppy hard rock decent...! better than a lot of poppy american bands!
Hank Sherman was the brains and writer, King Diamond was the voice!
The song was written by King Diamond, actually.
