nice job. I'm 80yo. Liked watching this farrier clean up the sole without him wanting to show how thin he could make it ! also the way he just defined the frog without slicing half the natural cushion away.
Shoudn't he be looking at the pasturn alignment with the leg closer to the horse's body to see the level of the bottom of the hoof? And also the cause of the arch of the coronary band on that same foot?
He pointed out the rolled under/contracted heels and even complimented the last shoer on how he addressed it. Y'all need to listen instead of looking for things to nitpick. If you're not a farrier, keep your mouth shut.
I noticed that too...the rare shoer with class. They could have edited him talking about why he cuts the clinches before he pulls the shoe off. In his words we do it so we don't bust the foot up when we "grab it and jerk it off" 🤣 obviously we're not as popular as the UFC but that part had a similar to that Dana White outtake when he was yelling at the guys in the house and saying they don't "vote guys off the show, they get to beat them off". That's one of the greatest sports bloopers of all time by now
Been a farrier 15 years here in Maryland and I wanna this man knows what he is talking about stop taking out all that sole! Fit it full! Balance it out and let it ride! Some of fellas just do to much! Doesn’t always have to be dissected lol! Great video!
just a quick imho for all any of "us" know this horse is better than when his farrier started working with him. it's all too easy to sit and pick someones work apart at 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 weeks. this sucker looks beyond middle aged and just needs some more support as he gets to the end of his cycle. why do we trash eachother???

Actually, they are usually different schools. In fact, dentists work on teeth and chiropractors are witch doctors that can move bones with their hands - pretty cool

There is no reason to rasp off the protective periople, though
@@Nigriffwhat is periople? Where is it on average working horse?
just a quick imho

the hoof can still be straightened out if you wanted to spend more time on it.
The heels look very contracted.
my horse is slightly toed in. can i still jump him?
No reason to rasp off the protective layer of the hoof.

yes, no mention of contracted heels, and the weak, atrophied and infected frog.
Corrective work on a foot is done at under 6 months of age- otherwise what you see is what you have
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
scrary
Sad, isn't it? And these professionals are "supposed" to recognize this. And, they're educating us non-pro's?
Too bad he's not concerned about those contracted, under run heels. And a sheared heel CAN be fixed...toed-in or not. Terrible.
These farriers must come out of the same schools as dentist and chiropractors.

Circo verso ..deja de vender humo
WE HAVE TO MAKE MONEY SOMEHOW. GOOD LORD.
barefooot trim will cure it all
He mentioned the horse is a jumper… as in a working horse. I think he wants a sound horse at the end also😊
