Wow, wow, wow!! For me the best seminar for interpretation and registration quins of instruments...ORGAN.
This is one of the best sounding organs I've ever heard. And Carpenter's grasp on Bach is just something crazy.
46:24 you can tell he loves this fugue, and it shows! Magic
Wow! The acoustics work beautifull for those chamades!
He brings to mind the wonderful show pianist Liberace. Cameron in my humble opinion is a truly great organist but has sadly fallen into the commercial trap of pleasing the masses. Lang Lang of the piano world springs to mind.
Now with both I feel if they bring more people to the world of organ or piano then this is a jolly good thing indeed. People like me who are purists should shut up and simply hope that those brought to the organ or piano may begin to learn and appreciate the truly great players of these king of instruments. Although my toes curl while listening to Cameron I have to bare in mind that many people who would not normally listen to such music are indeed enjoying his skills.
Pray hope they begin to understand why I do not think he is really that good. Learn more about what he is doing and please go to concerts of deeply respected performers.
Thank you Cameron for bringing this music to a wider audience.

1:10 He does something awesome, either somebody changed his piston or he wasn’t happy with the registration, so he registers it in front of a live audience in the at the start of the show and moves on to the fugue with no shame. Now that takes guts.
This isn't during a performance. He is preparing the organ for a performance. This person probably shouldn't have been taping this.
Samuel Nelson Exactly. I don’t think other people configure the pistons for him. He is the organist, he decides the registrations.

Quest' organo lo conosco bene e so come suona, tuttavia Cameron Carpenter non mi ha mai fatto impazzire... grandi virtuosismi e sempre troppo poca anima, su uno strumento che è fra i più evocativi dell'interiorita, della preghiera e dell'anima.
Interesting to see that he forgets completely about the timings of the notes to configure the thumb pistons. Not to bash him before someone starts about that, it’s just interesting.

Per quanto la sua tecnica sia invidiabile, probabilmente capirò poco, ma non mi piace per nulla come suona Cameron Carpenter....
Caro Carpenter, va bene che la vita è breve ma potrebbe anche suonare in modo più...rilassato e fedele alle note, soprattutto Bach!
Ecco un altro fenomeno da circo "ameregano" sulla scia de vari Valentino Liberace e Virgil Fox: tutti spettacolo, paillettes, ego. Rispetto per gli strumenti quasi nullo: infatti il nostro, come Fox, ama gli organi elettronici e digitali.
Cameron Carpenter non è Carl Richter. Cameron non è un fenomeno da circo. Lui ha una sua filosofia ben precisa (e annunciata) nell'interpretare e rielaborare qualsiasi spartito musicale. E' un musicista che non pretende di riproporre l'originalità dell'opera come da spartito ma inserisce variazioni (anche discutibili) ma estremamente personali ed evocative della sua arte. Può piacere oppure no ma non si può parlare di "non rispetto" dello strumento visto che lui spinge al massimo tutta la ricerca tecnica/tecnologica per implementarne le potenzialità espressive del strumento stesso. Amo ascoltare Cameron Carpenter come amo l'immenso Carl Richter
+Dante Casora pensare che io ho la prima volta che ho sentito bach era interpretato da virgil fox .. pero' mettere sullo stesso piano fox e liberace nn so se sia corretto . liberace era un esaltato ..mi fa paura solo a vederlo
A mio parere se Cameron Carpenter è apprezzato in tutto il mondo un motivo c'è. Il suo modo di suonare lo rispecchia, cioè un rivoluzionario dell'organo che ha saputo attirare l'attenzione e la curiosità di persone giovani verso uno strumento che ormai era dimenticato dietro gli altari delle chiese. ho assistito a molti dei suoi concerti e devo dire che se ci fosse stato Bach ad ascoltare le sue esibizioni penso che ne sarebbe orgoglioso data la sua agilità tecnica e fantasia. A volte si criticano le altre persone solo per invidia senza capire la genialità che ci sta sotto. Come ad esempio apprezzo molto tutto il lavoro fatto da Virgil Fox e non che meno da Karl Richter
