Great video. Wish I had found it before my install but oh well. I put the Denali Compact Soundbomb on my 1250 GS connected through the Hex can. Works beautifully. I had to use the horn the other day as a couple tried to pull out in front of me. Quick tap to the horn and they slammed those breaks. Worked beautifully!! Will never go back to standard horn.
I have a soundbomb mini and gave up trying to install it, even though I had the whole bike stripped down to fit driving lights, because I couldn't get it to fit. I think following your approach and just bending the bracket would have solved my problem, so I'll have another go now! So simple, but I just couldn't work it out at the time, so many thanks from me..!
On my 2014 r1200gs, I used a pair of PIAA horns 400hz/500hz from my FJR1300. I used cable connections from a bmw mini, which are the same as the bike so no cutting the wiring loom.
Another great vid. One major item of note though: I've just done mine on my 1250GS and I found adequate access to the 'large' horn mounting bolt without the need to remove the beak. [thumbsup] Much improved sound and more than adequate. I definitely don't feel the need to undergo the hassle of fitting the 'louder' sound bomb. This installation took me no more than 20 minutes. 😀👍
Great video, gave me the confidence to install, I only needed to remove one side, although a bit of a fiddle it worked. The sound bombe are not a great fit though as far larger that the original embarrassing horn.
Good vid, thanks. As I have an EzCan, I may fit a mini to the left of the TFT down inside the fairing as an extra and keep the original to make a 2 tone setup. One to ponder over New Year...
Investigating a Denali lighting setup for a R1250RS but not decided on horn. Supposedly replacing with a K1600 horn also has good results, as its plug compatible and is significantly louder. Would definitely configure the CANsmart to flash the lights while the horn was activated, though.
Thanks Steve, the videos take longer to do than fitting the part itself!!!! Just going into the man cave to remove the GPS SAT unit and put on the mount for my Garmin Zumo XT. Another 5 minute job. lol 😂
I fitted the Compact Sound Bomb to mine which was a significant increase in volume. Interestingly, I initially left the standard horn connected. I decided I didn't like the clash of sounds so disconnected it. Suddenly the Soundbomb had much less effect so I reconnected the original horn. The overall effect now is of sound violence :). Along with the Cansmart being set to flash the driving lights when the horn is blown the result is worthwhile.
I would have thought there would be lots of space on a GS to fit the full fat Denali Sound Bomb with compressor. I did on my bike although not a GS but a Triumph Sprint ST1050 and it is LOUD!
It may have been, but where's the fun in that. Folks don't understand how long these things take to workout and video, the bike would be off the road for a week🙄so I'd rather do a bit then have the bike back for running in at the moment. Ride safe .
Ask you may have guessed by my last name, yep Jersey too, but moved to England a few year's now living up in West Yorkshire 😉 some very beautiful countryside up here, but do miss home but not the speed limits does feel nice to open up the gs in the UK.
@@gsd32i i had done it like that but the horn was hanging too close to the fork for my taste. This morning i redid everything according to your video and it's a thousand times better. Thanks SO much!
Very sensible cardboard trick.. Ill adopt it

I put one on my Speed Triple. Very easy install, but a complete waste of money. Slightly different tone, but not even as loud as the stock horn.

Glad to help . I did swear a bit off camera !! More space on the GSA I believe 👍hope round 2 goes well .

Do you have part number from MINI? What is the position on the MINI car? I will ask MINI dealer to buy it if they have on stock

Very good review thanks for your efforts and I love the cardboard hack.
Thanks for watching!

Indeed. All the best for 24.
Thanks, this is an incredibly useful video. All well explained, clear and concise. Kudos, captain!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, have just purchased one thanks to your video.

Great video, just ordered 2 mini sound bombs for my GS and RS

Yup there is but went with the mini I had left over from my Africa Twin 👍
@@gsd32i Fair enough.
Please let us know what theft protection you use on your GS? Like Abus drake disk locks etc….
My theft protection is my 2 German Shepherd dogs😂
:)))) I mean while travelling@@gsd32i
The cardboard is brilliant. I've never seen that before.
works a treat , wifey has loads of it courtesy of amazon!
Nice sound.
ive been told the dual tone compact sound bomb will not fit because of the adaptive headlights not enough space....
The original horn made the dog jump 😅
yes it did....
Hi with all the struggling you had fitting the USB in your last video would it be easier to do while it’s stripped down for the sound bomb ? 👍🏿

Do you have BMW part number of similar connector to adjust one without ordering Denali connectors?
Hi. No sorry the only one I have is the one from Denali in the link below.
Jersey 🇯🇪 plates ?
Yup 👍

@@chrislecouteur2360 good jersey name 👍 I get to open mine up to 40 lol 😂
What do you think of this kind of installation, without having to remove bike parts? ua-cam.com/video/XQKN-x6PA3Q/v-deo.html
Hi, yes thats fine , but for me I would want to out of the way for looks, but thats just me 😂 👍
