Thank you very much! This truly means a lot to me. I noticed that you are a fellow RX-8 owner as well and yes, it is both wonderful AND expensive to keep one but I'm determined to make it something I can truly be proud of in a couple more years. Cheers! 🙇♂
Hey awesome video man and congratulations on your purchase🎉. I’m 20yo myself and just bought my rx8 about 3 weeks ago and I’m loving it so much. Your story was really relatable to me and it felt like we had such a similar journey towards buying this car. Anyways hope the best for you and your rx8💪
Thank you so much! Congratulations on your recent ownership of an RX-8. It’s truly a wonderful car - especially when you’ve addressed a couple of issues that are common with the car’s age. Purchasing the car was one of the best decision I’ve ever made as it literally changed my life. Hope you have a pleasant experience yourself. Create many adventures with your 8 and wishing all the best to you too! 🙌🏻✨
I did a similar thing after uni, bought a series 1 rx8 2005. 30k miles later its still running great at 70k miles. Biggest advice is get it serviced every 3 to 4k miles, premix, redline when its all warmed up and avoid sitting in traffic. One thing I learned is that this car hates stop and go city driving because when it idles, there's low lubrication. So try and avoid long idling and traffic when you can. Best of luck on the ownership, you've got an excellent looking version.
That sounds like a positive ownership experience! I bought mine at about 53,000km and have put almost 1,500km happy distance on it since ownership (1.5 month ++ now). I’m following the strict service schedule and I do redline it on every drive / every two start-ups. Had some overheating issue as one of the fans stopped running and I was sitting in traffic for a bit over 20 minutes. Needless to say, not a pleasant experience at all! Still warying on premixing as my rotary specialist said there are some cons to doing it (so I’m thinking of getting a SOHN adapter soon). In your experience, how big of a difference does it make? I’m willing to do it but just needs more convincing. Did a compression test recently, good and high numbers - phewww! Thank you for sharing your experience! I wish to make my journey with it a positive one as I slowly restore some worn out or broken parts.
I can't imagine seeing some fierce race with drifting and pro level driving and when the driver steps out you see this fine young gentleman. Anyway stay safe always. God bless
Thank you brother! That was my intention too. To inspire people in going for what they want in life - especially if they start to feel a bit stagnant from repeating the same grind everyday. 🤗 Will you be the next person on the list to buy your dream car? 👀
Thank you! It’s a slow build but I do try to make a couple of major restoration and upgrades every couple of months. Just dropped a new video, check it out! Feel free to subscribe to help my small channel grow. 🙇🏻♂️✨
Thank you! It’s a Knight Sports spoiler. Surprisingly, not many people have it and it’s pretty hard to find it for sale these days. It was installed by the original owner in Japan sometime between 2007 to 2010.
got mine a few months ago with honestly bad mods and a horrible wrap but the engine is running at peak performance and it doesn't have rust, still looks bad though.
Congrats man! I am both happy (for the good parts you got) and sharing my condolences (for how bad it may look on your end). Mine has some.. questionable mods done to it and I can't wait to get those replaced with proper upgrades. Luckily, my engine and transmission seems pretty healthy but the bushings and engine mounting requires a replacement. The ABS module also went out a few hours before I got the keys to the car. My mechanic said previous owner did not drive it enough so when I started driving it 2-3 days a week it made some parts "overwork" than what it used to do in the past years. Anyway, feel free to subscribe if you would like to see my journey in restoring this RX-8 to a street / drift build!
Thank you! Best thing I can say is really take your time in selecting them - especially if they cost a lot (like where I’m from). Some things are fixable but not having to deal with major repair work upon purchase will make the ownership experience a lot more enjoyable 🙌🏻
Thank you! It’s a form of Nardo Grey. Planning to detail it on my own once I’m done restoring a couple of things. Hopefully that’ll make the paint pops up even more!
Yes, I agree! Despite the negative connotations the rotary engine have - I still find them truly an engineering beaut (especially when they work). It’s by no mean a fast car but the whole package from the way it handles to its look is more than enough to make it worth every penny spent. Thanks for watching! 🤗
Thank you so much! I wish you good luck on that. They're fairly expensive where I'm from but still one of the more affordable JDM gems. If I may advice if you plan to own one - be sure to have plenty of disposable income to spend on restoring and fixing the car. There is no tell what the previous owners' maintenance schedule is like and there are a few things due for replacement (as they are cars older than a decade at this point). I've been busy fixing a bunch of things on this car but do subscribe for more content! It might help with your ownership soon too.
@@MeorHariz thank you sir. I'm saving up 15k so I can buy things for cooling and oil ect as soon as I get it. I understand what I'm in for but I have loved this car for 12 years.
@@joogullae3456 May I know where you are from and what’s the market price on the RX-8? Be sure to test the engine’s compression. Even if you don’t have a specialist with you or the tools to do a compression test, you can somewhat gauge the lifespan the engine has by testing its cold start and warm start. Sometimes (just sometimes), forking out a bit more may land you one with a healthy engine. Replacing the other wear and tear parts won’t be as costly as a swap or a rebuild.
Thank you! That's great - just be sure to check the car thoroughly. Older cars are bound to be a money pit especially for the first few years of ownership. Always have some in the cash reserves for any emergencies or major repair work. 😉✨ Feel free to subscribe for more RX-8 and car content!
Thank you very much brotherman. As much as I want to get down to business and address all of the things I wish to do on the car - I have to be financially responsible. Small steps, one at a time. Hope you’ll still be a part of Miyuki’s story as you were for Spirit! 🤍
I probably didn't mention it in this video (but I've told people in person about it) and in case it wasn't clear - the car was made in 2007 and imported from Japan to Malaysia back in 2010. The car was about 2-3 years old when it was imported. I'm the 3rd owner of the car here in Malaysia back when it only had 50k on the clock.
Probably looks more or less the same but: - More reliable - Sounds better - Possibility of brap braps - No colorful lights on the dash 😂 Planning to restore most of the wear and tear parts (including an engine rebuild if needed) on my first year of ownership. Cosmetic and upgrades can wait.

Currently editing a new video on the RX-8. It should be out within the next week or so!
That's about the cutest RX-8 video I've ever seen. Welcome to the wonderful and expensive world of rotary power!
