Fun fact about contrast training: I was one of the subjects in the 2010 Ruben et al paper from WVU which showed increased power production after a max back squat. It turns out Men likely need a back squat of > 2x bodyweight to get potentiation. The people tested with squats between ~1.5-2x bodyweight actually had the opposite effect (i.e. lower power output).
Of course most football players you're training likely have much higher than 2x bodyweight squats.

Is that for 1RM?
So correct me if I’m wrong, but you need to be able to squat double your body weight to be able to achieve those solid explosive movements? Or am i not understanding it
@@brazybristian3968 you can still be explosive with under a 2x bw squat but what he’s saying is: in order for squats to have a truly noticeable affect on jumping for example it needs to be 2x or higher than bw
