Ulrik Neumann(1918-1994) Kärleksvals (Love Waltz) Göran Söllscher guitar

Ulrik Neumann was a Danish guitarist,composer,singer,entertainer…you name it.
First time I ever saw a classical guitarist on TV it was Ulrik playing Andaluza by Granados.And it was brilliant! Must have been in the early 1960:s,same period as when he wrote his Kärleksvals. I think almost every classical guitarist from the Nordic countries have at one point enjoyed playing this masterpiece.
I had the pleasure of getting to know this gentleman and a year before he passed away he wrote a Guitar Concerto for me. What an honour! You can hear it on Spotify or find the CD on the label Caprice.

Just det här stycket, Kärleksvals, gick jag och spelade för Ulf Söndergaard en gång i tiden, men sedan kom så mycket annat i vägen, som i arbete, och med tiden föll mina kunskaper i glömska. Thank you! One of my favorite pieces. I often play this on my concerts too. I sometimes feel like the *Swe-Danes* (the trio that Ulrik was part of) being a Swede living in Denmark. :-)

Dear Göran,
I love this song.
And I like the composer. Ulrik Neumann was also often on German television. He had a show with Svend Asmussen and Alice Babs, plus pianist Paul Kuhn from Germany. They all had a talent for comedy too. It was around 1960.
I never missed a TV show and was a childish fan of Ulrik Neumann. I decided to play guitar. It's been over 60 years now... and I'm still playing. 😊

I love practicing guitar, but with 2 metres the position really hurt my neck and shoulders... do you have any recommenadations or tools you use to get the guitar into the right place? I feel like putting my left foot on a stool twists my spine so much...

There are a lot of so called guitar rests that you should try. The one I use was made in Japan.
