My friend's life ended last year, both of us promised to graduate together, travel together, and to achieve our dreams together. She always loved IU and she told me to sing for her wedding in the future and it should be IU's song. I never imagined that i will sing this song on her funeral, my heart still feels heavy. She had many plans on her life, she's very cheerful, friendly and fun to be with, and now i can't see that smile again and it made me miss her even more. Thank you IU for being an inspiration and motivation for her to keep going, the accident took her life yet i'm relieved that she's not in pain anymore.

In 2017, I am still surprised that people are arguing about who is better vocalist bla bla bla.. Let me explain this thing to be clearer.. There many good vocalists in this world but there are definitely not many singers who have a distinctive and emotional voice as well as a healing power. IU is definitely one of them. When I feel sad or depressed, her voice has the power to heal my depression... which can't be found by many other Korean singers. I am someone that prefer soulful emotional voice compared to powerful singing. So, thats why i only like iu n taeyeon. I found IU in septembre 2017. This video was one of the first i watched from her ... ♥ 2018 and 2019 were very hard years for me ... I don`t know how i had overcome this years without IU. She really bring light, warmth, love, calm down and motivation with her music. She is much more than a star on stage, she is as a friend near us ♥ :)

Yes, and - she sing from heart and touch my heart - she must have a precious personality, and she let shine them in her work. Shappo Chin i saw a site on vocal analysis she was ranked average yeah sure she was average though the she sings it is difficult because of technique and style thats what seperate her from other singer which only features vocal prowess but the technique nope not as smooth as IU. This is the kind of song that gives you goosebumps just because of the beautiful melody, and the emotional, angelic voice of IU. But once you know the meaning of what she's singing... that's when the tears start flowing. God blesses this woman.
*wipes tear* My favourite song from the album and i'm glad and thankful that she gave us this. The song always reduces me to tears and it is obvious IU had a hard time too. Her vocal performance is exquisite here, as always, but i feel this song carries something special. IU, the forever Queen!
I totally feel it too, I mean the fact that this song is carrying something very special. I actually heard that IU wrote this song for all the people who died during the Sewol ferry accident (most of them were high school students btw). She said that this song is not a love song to a lover but a song to other people instead and that's when it hit me hard. The message carried here is really special and that's why she could not write this song alone but needed Kim Eana's (lyricist) help. Family of the victims can find solace in this song when they are sad, through "Dear name" no one can ever forget about their loved ones who died.
I am quite disappointed when she said there will be no MV for this great song. but when I saw this here I am so much excited. This is so awesome! >.< This is my favorite song in this album

the reason that IU will forever be my favorite soloist is bc she acc pours out all her emotions into her songs. she doesn’t care abt awards or music show wins or whatever she just wants to make music for everyone to enjoy uk. her songs r all written by her so she rly can convey her emotions to us and also that makes her songs so relatable.

as a musician myself, I respect her a lot, because she is real talented, and not just another 'pretty face' in the korean 'k-pop' industry! almost all her songs speaks from the HEART & SOUL, and that's sadly already quite RARE nowadays...!
Niki Wonoto pretty sure because KPop idols tend to meet the Korean taste and agency favor rather than who they really are. Meanwhile IU, she does not care but show what kind of musician and singer she really is since the beginning of her career. She is passionate in music eventho she actually can make a decent idol and actress too actually. Idk for me personally, IU is very precious that I wanna curse those who hate her 😂

I am from Germany. In 2013 i found Ailee, and in her "Let it go"-duet, i found Hyorin. Yesterday i found a video with IU, and than i look for more videos from her ... IU have a wonderful soft voice, and she use her gift so wonderful. Yes, and - she sing from heart and touch my heart - she must have a precious personality, and she let shine them in her work. IU is an amazing natural artist! :) Yes, and i am happy, that i have found her! :)

I swear there's something magical about IU. The way she get's consumed by the music is so mesmerizing... I could watch her sing forever and my biggest goal is to go to one of her concerts, I can't die before I achieve that.

This is the kind of song that gives you goosebumps just because of the beautiful melody, and the emotional, angelic voice of IU. But once you know the meaning of what she's singing... that's when the tears start flowing. God blesses this woman.

My favourite song from the album and i'm glad and thankful that she gave us this. The song always reduces me to tears and it is obvious IU had a hard time too. Her vocal performance is exquisite here, as always, but i feel this song carries something special.

I totally feel it too, I mean the fact that this song is carrying something very special. I actually heard that IU wrote this song for all the people who died during the Sewol ferry accident (most of them were high school students btw). She said that this song is not a love song to a lover but a song to other people instead and that's when it hit me hard. The message carried here is really special and that's why she could not write this song alone but needed Kim Eana's (lyricist) help. Family of the victims can find solace in this song when they are sad, through "Dear name" no one can ever forget about their loved ones who died.
