I don't think I would. Whenever I see them on any type of vehicle (not just Lightnings) they are toward one of the ends. If it breaks at the rear end u joint it will slap around like crazy and beat up the bottom of the truck but as long as you don't keep the throttle pinned (which no one would) it might not be too bad. If it breaks up front by the transmission, the rear end and speed of the vehicle going down the street will make it fling around until it comes to a dead stop. Also, it can catch the pavement and pogo. I'm not an expert by any means but that's my understanding anyway.👍
@@605BOLT thanks for replying and your insight like most we cant just buy a unit off the shelve unfortunately I gotta get a unit that weld in and cant decided where the best place to put would be honestly I just domt want the drive shaft to make it's way into the cab that's really all I care about any ways thanks man
Ya. I hear you there. You should be able to basically copy the design of that bar with something welded up custom. Could use the same set of holes too if it works out. I'm sure you can figure something out
Driveshaft is hitting on the back of the cab on lowered 03 lightning? Is this something your familiar with should I just notch that section out with an angle grinder?
I'm betting it's different but I can try to get under there and measure it with a tape measure. What measurement would help you? Hole center to hole center?
Thanks bro
No problem! Hope it helped!
@@605BOLT yes it did. I’m about to start a full rebuild on my 01.
@@FOEHMR0024 very nice. I assume more mods than just the driveshaft loop. What else are you going to do?
If you were to build one for a custom application would you put it more towards the middle of the driveshaft? Or where would you place the loop at

I'm not familiar with that, no. That said, I would do what you're saying - clearance wherever it's bumping. Not much other option for you.
Mine is factory height. Off road status. 😂
Since there are slots couldnt you slide it over a hair to clear the tank?
Can we get a full truck tour soon? Mods etc? Maybe see some pulls in it? Good video.
I might end up "clearancing" the tank a bit. Every now and then when the truck is sitting at just the right angle, vibrates against the tank.
Got a few more up now.
do you have a measurement of the length? im trying to see if it will fit on a f250 2008

total width of the section that bolts up to the frame rail and distance from each side to center. thankyou in advance
