I only have you tube these days - for inspirational channels like yours. I became seriously depressed using facebook etc I became dissatisfied with my life. 18 months on - I've never been happier. For gift ideas for me personally a manicure or pedicure , books, a massage, a perfume my husband loves on me,clean ingredient body and hand cream. We are not minimal but simple .Love your channel.
I’m in a similar season. We’ve had 1 car for the last 7 years and we don’t plan on getting a 2nd vehicle anytime soon. We go to church together, kids events together, etc. There’s no need for the extra expenses that come with an additional vehicle. It’s just a season but we’re comfortable!
I watched this Q&A yesterday. I have been thinking about what you said concerning being a missionary. Elli, you can be used as a missionary in many ways. You can be used as a missionary on UA-cam. Your calling is be used here. I wanted to encourage you. God bless you and your family.
As always, such great food for thought. You’re very inspiring with your minimalism and sharing how you value what matters most 💛 Currently researching quality gifts for the kids that are fun but also useful and won’t become clutter a few weeks after Christmas.
From giving comes wealth. Did you know spending time with family and friends is a gift. Helping someone do shopping, housework. Even smiling at someone. If you wish to give the needy will appear Gifts can be want ,need , wear , read . That’s what I did .
I’m a huge introvert too. Living away from all society, is basically a dream. 😅 I’ve been off the gram too for a few weeks, don’t plan to go back on any time soon. UA-cam just feels like a much simpler space to be on! Less noisy.
I love how you said "We will always be building resistance to our lifestyle." That's a perfect way of saying that. I don't have a homestead but I feel I have done that a bit with parenting and homeschooling and just being a responsible adult. I'm close to 50 and I can sense that resilience. But then there are days when I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. 😂 I would chalk that up to humility. God bless you and your family.
*thumbsup!* for Reformed Baptist! I began my Mimimal lifestyle in July of 2014. We had plans to move house - and then we ended up staying. As I was packing, I started to ask myself if I wanted the item(s) in our new home? And it snowballed from there! I do not have social media on my phone! The Holy Spirit told me to basically get off social media in 2023. I did not delete facebook, but I am down to 22 "friends" - who are mostly family lol! I do have a few neighbors and friends on there. My family is spread out from my city (a half hour drive or more) to across the state. So FB is helpful to keep up with family news. As for myself, I use FB to save recipes I want to try! I declutterd ALL of my books - save for 2 Bibles and 1 commentary When I decluttered my clothes to one suitcase, I did get rid of my dresser! I do have 2 of those 3 drawer plastic .... things lol! I used to have craft supplies and fabric in them. I now have them stacked in my closet for my pj's, pants etc. My husband is NOT a minimalist, so he's keeping his dresser. At least I have one less thing to dust lol!
I agree on gift cards and experiences for gifts! We have always been a 1 vehicle family and we make it work. I love not being on social media. I would love to toss my phone 😂 you’re such a sweet and Godly mama!❤
So inspiring, Elli! I think her name is Erin Loechner, but you should check out her book The Opt-Out Family about social media. It's really inspiring. I basically turned my smartphone into a dumbphone and would never go back. Anything I need to look up or any apps that I need to access I just use my laptop and it works great. Loved your perspective about minimalism and Christmas. Just added all those books to my wish list!
Do you have tips for staying off the apps other than deleting? I’ve done detoxes and worked for a while. I have goals of reading the books I have, but I have a hard time concentrating on reading (this has been this way long before computers 😉). IG is probably my biggest temptation. YT I mainly watch channels like yours. I gave up Facebook in 2021 and am so happy I did. Would love a longer video about breaking free from social media.
The Art of Divine Contentment (?) is on my reading list. Can you take a picture of the other one and post it in the Community tab? I want to add it to my reading list.
I really like your videos but you don’t need to get a ‘milk cow’, the milk from her will be for her babies, not for humans. You should understand that being a mother yourself. Humans do not need cows milk.
Your honesty is such a breath of lovely fresh air. Really enjoyed your Q&A. Great questions and answers.
Thank you so much!🩷

Yes! Love that! It’s good to hear I’m not alone in that☺️

Aww well thank you! I appreciate that encouragement ☺️🩷🥹
Aww I know that feeling of relief when you finally get your family out in the country. 🥰 So glad you guys get to experience that!
I so enjoy the Q&A❤️ Thank you!
I usually get my minimalist sister a gift card for a coffee shop near her because she loves coffee🙂
So nice to see you again. And I pretty much only have youtube. All the other platforms are all just pointless ads and ridiculous posts.

Where do you get your dresses? It’s so hard to find modest, quality dresses! I love your channel. You’re such an encouragement to me.❤️

Very interesting Q&A. Thank you.
Thankyou for answering my question. I hope you have a safe little room there for Tornado Watch. God bless.

For a homeschool group… have you looked into wild + free?
Yes I have, we unfortunately don’t have one close to us😅
Me and my kiddos where seating in the bathroom for 35 mins. Haha
We do three Christmas gifts per child because Jesus got three gifts at his birth. 😄 We also do stockings.
Love that idea!!
Great❤
If we were real life friend I’d get you a good book for Christmas
