You just discovered the best voice in heavy metal. Dio shaped the genre. He introduced the hand gesture to metal. He was taught the so-called corna sign by his superstitious Italian grandmother, as a way to scare off the "evil eye", a look which is said to cause bad luck.
Those were banners people brought to hold up. one was Ronnie's face. The other was about "The Last in Line" a great album and song of his. Ronnie was about 5'3" and all of it lungs.
Yes I saw black sabbath with dio and the heaven and hell tour and that performance of heaven and hell was perfect just like the album, I love dio but he was doing his own thing.

I'm 43 years old, so it was the late '80s/early 90's when I first discovered metal and never looked back. This is great to see the kids of today listening to the classics that I grew up with, but also getting into the great newer metal like Unleash the Archers \m/
@@ucitymetalhead The fact that he popularized such an important and epic sign for the Metal scene is in my opnion a huge thing though, it is still very widely used 40 years after he started using it and will probably live on for a long long time.
@@ucitymetalhead Yes, he has stated that in many interviews through the years, so its no secret. As far as i know he never claimed to have invented the actual sign itself, but he started using it in Black sabbath and it caught on in a big way to the point that its now the universal "Metal sign" across the globe. I was not saying that you said it wasnt important, but your original answer on the other hand IMHO didnt give it the importance it deserves, thats why i tried to do it justice.

To me this song is about the line between good and evil. I think DIO was singing about the spiritual and not religious side of heaven and hell or good and evil. He was singing about heaven and hell being on earth. heaven being the good and hell being the evil or bad. Sing me a song your a singer, do me a wrong your a bringer of evil. We get labelled as things for our actions but is that truly who we are. Just because we do things wrong does that mean we should be known just for our mistakes. Check out "Holy Diver" and "Rainbow in the dark" ...He did start in the 1950´s and kept on rocking till his way to soon death because of cancer. It was Dio who started the "horn fingers" that every rock fan does (His granny did the protection against evil and Dio used it for his stage show)
Hey girls. So Ronnie Dio is from my hometown in central New York. At work I look out the window and I see Dio Way, a street named after him. We also have Dio Day every year. He's an obvious legend here and in the music world. You should check Stargazer from Rainbow. He is also the vocalist for them Great job!
This was filmed in Philadelphia & I caught the concert from the previous night. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it was to witness this. The fact that you both loved it truly warms my heart. You keep these wonderful sounds alive. Keep doing this!
Something else about Dio. He was still touring up to a few months before his death from stomach cancer. Also, he always made time for fans. No matter how late a show ended, he gave at least a few minutes to every fan around his tour bus.
Again I had the privilege to see black sabbath with Ronnie James Dio and the heaven and hell your which was SENSATIONAL!!!!! Awesome reaction ladies great song and I have to add" RIP DIO🤟"
Awesome that you did a reaction video to Dio! RJD was truly one of the greatest rock vocalists!! It is very refreshing to see young people discovering these great bands and songs. You literally take me back to when I would be in amazement at Dio's live shows. Rock On!! 🤘😎
Just a quick note about this version of the song: While this was a good rendition, it was performed by Dio’s solo band, and this rendition leaves out the song’s epic finale. The original version of this song was written by Dio when he was with Black Sabbath, so it was accompanied by Tony Iommi’s legendary guitar. Please revisit this song’s live version from the album “Live Evil” by Black Sabbath.
I think reactions are amazing, not only because they make new generations discover the music I've always loved, but because they make the songs I've listened to a million times feel somehow renovated. And also because they are full of respectful and kind comments from people of many ages and places. Keep the good vibes on. Greetings from Chile. Ps. If you can react to the Odyssey by Symphony X, it would be amazing!.
Ronnie James Dio is an absolute legend! rip The stuff they're are picking up and showing are stuff that has been tossed on the stage by the audience. It was very common in the 80's
The face on the banner was Dio himself. Audiences used to throw banners on stage. This song is from Black Sabbath when Dio was the singer, probably that's why you related this song to War Pigs.
This was the second leg of Dio's Sacred heart tour . The first tour with new guitarist Crag Goldy , replacing guitarist Vivian Campbell, This is a reprise of the full song of heaven and Hell . That banners were part of an ongoing promotion from the local radio station WYSP . Fans made these banners and the winner /best decided by the radio station were given back stages passes to meet the bands . I know because i was there lol .
Lol...Dio and crew has left hundreds of thousands of fans flabbergasted...including me the first time I ever saw him when he fronted Rainbow (also Elf, Black Sabbath, and his own solo career), and all the times thereafter. Metal Lords all. Fans would create some really cool banners and tapestries that'd been done at home, and would make their way onstage sometimes...I have one I did for a Scorpions show that had the cover of Love at First Sting on it...still have it too. Anyway, Dio is a music legend that was taken far too soon...and we fans are the worse off for it. Keep the vids comin girls (and pay no mind to the "trolls," naysayers, and the idiots that are just simply cruel with their comments...you'll always be "head and shoulders" over those types). You girls are good at this stuff. Music is a wonderful gift given to us to enjoy, regardless of what kind it is. Again, kudos to your elders, and listen to EVERY little bit you can get your hands on. "Discovery" only happens once, so kick back and enjoy.
Good morning from Germany, my adorable 2...thanks again for a great reaction to one of the greatest (some would say THE greatest) Rock-Singer ever walked this earth! I loved DIOs voice from the first moment I heard it, and in my opinion "Heaven and Hell" is the best Black Sabbath Album. Have a great weekend, girls, stay safe & healthy...you're wonderful! 💗
Funny you should mention "War Pigs". This song was originally recorded by Black Sabbath, with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Dio replaced Ozzy Osbourne in 1979, and "Heaven And Hell" was the title song from his first album with the band. The reason that it sounds like Sabbath is . . . it is. As you can see from this video, Dio was both an excellent singer and a captivating showman. I was lucky enough to see him live twice, with Black Sabbath in 1980 and in 1984 with the Dio band. He interacted with the audience as well as Floor Jansen, Freddie Mercury or Bruce Dickenson. I'm pleased to see you discovering one of the greatest singers in Metal history. Your journey of metal warms my heart; you give me hope and pride with every video. Keep Rockin' ! ! !
Loved the song choice girls, Ronnie James will never get the credit he truly deserved...keep up the awesome content, sooooo close to 20k subscribers now! \m/
I saw Ronnie at the Hammersmith Odeon when he was fronting Black Sabbath. As soon as he sang the first notes he blew my head off. A really tiny little American guy with an enormous voice. RIP Ronnie, we all miss you mate. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Mia and Juliet, I am so happy that you are so in to the music of my generation. The artists who did these songs would be proud to know that the younger generation is getting in to their songs now. You are very special girls and I'm proud of you for it. Thank you very, very much.
Again ladies you continue the great reaction saga but most definitely an icon in metal history and I might be in the minor but I like Ronnie with black Sabbath better than OZZY R.I.P Dio \m/
This was Dio in a nutshell. He was infectious. Just seeing him would bring a smile to your face, and hearing and watching him perform just made you not care about being crazy, and made you want to just say to hell with it all and do whatever you wanted. Dio was a Master of Metal. To this day, I miss the fact that he's gone from our world... But as everyone says, he's just gone home to Hell, to kick the Devil off of his throne and take his place as it's rightful Ruler. Rock on girls! Dio would be proud of you! \m/
The keyboard player here was Claude Schnell. It was normal for players of that time (and especially earlier, in the 70s) to have lots of keyboards on stage because the technology meant that you needed a different one for each type of sound -- unlike today, when you have any number of sounds programmed into one keyboard. If you want to see a huge number of keyboards, watch something by the band Yes (or their keyboard player Rick Wakeman solo). Rick has about 12 on stage and plays two different ones with different hands at the same time.
If you girls truly love this kind of music as much as you seem to it's a damn shame you weren't around in the 80s. Rock concerts will never be like that again. They were grand, they were epic and I will never forget how LOUD they were.
This was a real specal one! Dio was so great in his time and still is so legendary! I m glad that you listened this one and i hope that we will see some other songs from Dio like hmmmmmmm Dream evil..... : ) Hey dad.... How about introduce girls to band called WASP - Heaven's hung in black??? Ok keep on saving good ol rock n roll by reacting those songs and remember that music unites us all!
Suspicions confirmed: You show someone of any age and from any generation the real power of music and a great artist...live...and the reaction is always the same: Jaw dropping awe. "Ohhhh, so THAT'S what music can do!"
I saw this tour and to this day I've never seen a better stage show full of so much amazing stuff! The huge set, with big rocks and a Dragon and flames shooting everywhere! Fog, sparks, pyro, explosions, lasers. A huge hologram ball that descended from the ceiling with Dio's face in it that talked to us, a huge laser display that spelled out Dio on the back wall, crazy sound effects, percussive explosions with huge flashes of light! And somehow the light show was so saturated! When they switched to say, blue and green like everything in the place turned those colors! Plus you had the ripping guitars and Dio's awesome voice! I'm not exaggerating either! It was all those things! And it was non stop, it just kept crashing and exploding and the music swirling and ripping. I haven't even watched this video yet and I'm all excited! I remember just coming out from the show just drained and over stimulated thinking oh my gosh what did we just see??!! I mean here I am 34 years later still raving about it! Well time to watch their reaction now!!
One of a kind , never to be forgotten. Jack Black the actor and big Dio fan , tells a story where they invited Ronnie to come sing on a recording and he shows up with his own microphone only to be told by the engineer that it wont be needed , so Ronnie proceeds to use their equipment and blows out the state of the art studio microphone on the first take. “Ronnie said, ‘Yeah, that always happens. That’s why I always bring my own.’ And so they had to set up his industrial-strength mic to record him.

RIP Ronnie James Dio! Can't wait for the next reaction!!
Saw Dio on this Tour ( 1986 London ). Seen him four times. RIP RJD.......
Here's to Dio 🤘 🙏. Great choice ladies. Great reaction. Keep on rocking
Dio, es very cutie and awsome and powerful, it was about time they reacted to legends like this.
This is a classic he originally recorded with Black Sabbath. He will be missed. Great reaction girls. Chris
Thank you Chris!
Check out "Holy Diver" and "Rainbow in the dark" ...He did start in the 1950´s and kept on rocking till his way to soon death because of cancer. It was Dio who started the "horn fingers" that every rock fan does (His granny did the protection against evil and Dio used it for his stage show)
RJD was the man, started the horns up for metal and hard rock. Always great lyrics, religious and mystic at the same time.
Hey girls. So Ronnie Dio is from my hometown in central New York. At work I look out the window and I see Dio Way, a street named after him. We also have Dio Day every year. He's an obvious legend here and in the music world. You should check Stargazer from Rainbow. He is also the vocalist for them Great job!
We love Ronnie's voice!
Ronnie James Dio is always thought of Very highly.....In Millions of peoples opinions, he is regarded as the greatest rock vocalist of all time.
Keep rockin' little ladies...!!🤘🤘
Thank you Carlos!
Ronnie James Dio is an absolute legend! rip
The stuff they're are picking up and showing are stuff that has been tossed on the stage by the audience. It was very common in the 80's
The face on the banner was Dio himself. Audiences used to throw banners on stage. This song is from Black Sabbath when Dio was the singer, probably that's why you related this song to War Pigs.
The little man with the BIG voice🤟🤟 the father of Rock🤟
Another one for the taking. Mighty DIO
LOL! That must have been amazing!
Excited!
Great reaction video, made me smile. Thanks so much.
Thank you Manna! We too are crossing our fingers as we get closer and closer to 20K!
Dio !!! Simply the BEST!!! A leyend!!!
DIO song DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS. Studio version
One of the best heavy metal singers, no doubt.
Mmm you girls need to watch Holy Diver by Dio, phenomenal.
loved the reaction, tnx guys. dio is my all time fav male singer, he had a huge impact on my music life growing up...
Dio rocks. He sang many great songs.
Wowwww you find the gothfather of metal. DIO is a Legend
Plis next holy diver
I saw Ronnie at the Hammersmith Odeon when he was fronting Black Sabbath. As soon as he sang the first notes he blew my head off. A really tiny little American guy with an enormous voice. RIP Ronnie, we all miss you mate. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
And btw. You just watched a small version of the real song..basically sometimes they would mix and match songs at concerts..This was one
Dio popularized the use of \m/ as a symbol for rock. Apparently his grandma did the gesture to ward off the devil
We were very impressed with his vocals! It was a blast reacting to Dio!
Dio was one of the nicest person I ever met polite, well spoken and funny. RIP legend
Great reaction girls! If you enjoyed Ronnie's voice check out his singing in RAINBOW - Stargazer. It's a classic.
Master of vocals and creator of sign \m/
Plesure to see how young gals reacting to real legend of rock.
Rock On Girls!!
Thank you Russell!
Ah, there is just something about watching other people enjoy metal that just brings tears to my eyes. Rock on |m| |m|
