  • Not the best flying conditions, but I haven't flown this heli in over a month, so I went for it. The phone did a great job of muting the wind noise which is nice.
    I can definitely feel the wind with this heli, being so light, especially with a 4000mAh battery as opposed to 5000mAh typically flown on a heli of this size. It handles it well though, and man this heli flies great, even at only 2000rpm as seen in this video (thanks largely to the Ultimate blades).

    Nice! I've had my xl 550 for about a year now. Still one of my favorites to fly

    Piro-ticktocks with the camera FPS blade slow downy effect make them look even more majestic!

    Nice heli and flying. Going to snag one while Heli Direct has them for $80 off for Black Friday. Totally stoked!

      Check out Cajun Aircraft, they have a better deal than that. $375 with motor and blades (get rid of the blades though, Zeal suck lol)! It's the 520 but buy a 550 boom, belt, boom supports and pushrod and you have a 550.

    Great flight as always! Wow, 4min flight with that style on 4000mah? Would 5000mah make it fly noticably heavier or would it be ok?

      5000 is fine. Long flight times because those blades are extremely efficient and I was only flying at around 1800rpm. I would be flying 5000 but I built the heli as a 520 and got 4000s for it and stretched it to 550 later on. It's a very light 550, so 4000 is fine. But lots of people fly them on 5000 too.

      @@BladeScraper Awesome, thank you for answer. How about stock XLP DS512HV cyclic servos that come with "super combo kits" are they good or would I be better of getting KST X15 1208? KSTs are rated more powerfull but slower...The "super combo kit" seems really good value, but I love KSTs (micro size) on my small helis.

      @@TB-vr8hy I have no experience with the XLPower servos but I'm sure they're fine. KST makes great servos and I've always used them so I generally choose KST when building. But I know several people who use the XLPower servos with no problem.

      @@BladeScraper I think I'll choose KST too. X15-1208 cyclic and BLS805X tail. HW 120A V4 ESC and Spirit2 FBL.
      Another question: does stock motor come with bullet connectors already installed on the wires, and if not, what size should be chosen? 4, 5, 6mm?
      And with 550 size and 4025 motor: C-rating for packs - would it be sufficient to run 40c or is 60c quite a must for 3d (say for your style of flying)?

    • @BladeScraper
      @BladeScraper  3 роки тому +1

      @@TB-vr8hy I'm not sure if the motor comes with bullets. Tbh 4025 is way overkill, I fly mine on the 4020 that came with the XL520 on 550s and it does just fine.
      C rating is bull anyway, just grab some HRB 4000 or 5000mAh 6s from Amazon and call it a day :)

      It's wired up with S.Bus and S.Port using the MSH FrSky adapter cable. Full telemetry and integration.
