i head cannon that after Unleashed, Eggman sent SA-55 to go command a different Eggbase or Eggfleet just so he wouldnt annoy him anymore, then created Orbot & Cubot to be his NEW assitants in Colours and onwards
@@aviationfan2637 i found SA-55 funnier than Orbot, and cubot was cool in Colours with his whole voice thing but is boring now. in Forces and Lost World Orbot and Cubot did nothing.

To me It was most likely SA-55 was a early prototype as Eggaman wanted to make his own tails and Knuckles after the events of Unleased Eggman most likely locked SA-55 away and Made Orbot as a more updated orbot series and after that made Cubot as his second help as the point of orbot and cubot are almost like tails and Knuckles with their colors swap and their Behaviours being like a flip from what they are

I can't find any in game prove to saying that, I mean, it means sense to they not be the same robot but came on, they're robots, Eggman could just make some changes in SA-55 and presto, we got Orbot. I found unnecessary to make another exactly shape robot instead of reprogramming an existing one.
I looked up the sonic wiki for answers and it says that SA-55 is some sort of prototype of Orbot. it’s unknown what happened to SA-55. I’m guessing Eggman either abandoned SA-55 after sonic unleashed and built Orbot. Or Eggman dismantled him and rebuilt him into Orbot
@@keebeh13 Makes a ton of sense actually, because we don't ever see 55 after Sonic Unleashed right? Maybe he's locked away in the storage unit somewhere but I think Eggman might've just took him apart. (Although, that would make for a pretty good story. Like Orbot ends up finding SA-55)

Orbot and Cubot are my 2 favorite Eggman henchmen. They have real voices and personalities
