Not a problem so far. When you take a look at their new packs Freefall 2000 and 3000, the frame bar is exposed.

I have been using this pack for multiple occasions. Once I took this bag for backpacking trips for a week-5-6 hour walk everyday-and it did hold up nice and solid. Great pack.
