  • Off of "Laughing Stock" (1991), a timeless masterpiece of a record.
Listen to it in full here: • Talk Talk - MYRRHMAN -...
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
    [Verse 1]
    Sang soulless loud
    Herding step on flesh
    And nothing else
    To well
    To drown and drown
    Sleight of reason
    How they come
    Cain in number
    [Chorus]
    Shake my head
Turn my face to the floor
    Dead to respect
    To respect to be born
    Lest we forget who lay
    [Verse 2]
    Alone, the crowd
    Spurning step by state
    Blame something else
    Thirsting
    Within and without
    Sighted, weeded
    How they run
    Slain in number
    [Chorus]
    Shake my head
Turn my face to the floor
    Dead to respect
    To respect to be born
    Lest we forget who lay

    Hi,
I'm currently analyzing this song for a school assignment
where I'm supposed to do quite some extensive research on the recording,
mixing, mastering aspects of the song and the instruments that are used
    too.
I'm able to find a thing or two about the recording
process of the album itself, but not necessarily about the song itself.
If anyone can provide me as many information as you can about the song I
would be really grateful; like, what the noise in the middle of the
    song actually is for example.
If you know anyone who knows more about the song who I can get in touch with anytime soon I'd appreciate it a lot as well.
    Thanks in regard.

Hey man me too. Well not exactly the song, but the recording of the album for a Music Production Analysis module in college. I don't know if it's too late for you, but there is mention of a water heater and a kettle being sampled on the album, I believe this is in background here towards the end of the song. Stuff like the drums being recorded at 28' (or 33') and the lack of compression and EQ were fairly uniform.
