The last sweater is beautiful too.
Pleased you like them! It's fascinating how they represent the era they are made in, once you start looking the differences are so interesting!
Yes wonderful.
How much fun to have found this channel. I am currently wearing a 1970s cardigan, have so many since I itch from merino wool. I actually still have my 16 th birthday gift (1959)which was a cardigan from Pringle of Scotland and has shell buttons😁. I am 79, so you know how very old my beautifully maintained cashmeres are. They are from the late 50s to the early 2000s. I have given away so very many in the colors I no longer enjoy wearing, but still have so many in black and those many shades of off whites, creams, taupes and beige.
Glad to see that I have been washing them as you do, all this time. I also use tissue paper to layer between each fold I make before shelving.
How lovely to hear how well you care for your cashmere pieces! That's incredible that your Pringle cardigan is still with you - they don't make like that anymore! Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment, we're really glad you found us too.
Bought a couple of cashmere sweaters in Harrods in the 1950s. They were still in use last year when the dreaded moths found my cache and started to wreck the more modern examples. The older ones , in the same cupboard , were not affected. I do not remember the term'moth-proofed' being mentioned but something hadput the moths off
How fascinating! I wonder what put them off...
Thank you so much I love your explanations. I'm wondering what color and brand of pink you used to dye the sweater you are wearing it looks sensational!
Glad we could be of help! We haven't dyed the pink jumper that is being worn, it was purchased as it is now :)
I love the red sweater.
It's really super isn't it?!
Madame, is it possible to dye a black sweater as well?
it's not something we have tried, the only colour you could dye it is black to make it as dark as possible.
