@@sidharthsharma2637 we spent 8 nights in Brasov (used it as a base). We used Airbnb and stayed in a 70 square metre apartment in the heart of the old town. Cost $540 AUD for the accommodation. We have good friends who live there so they drove us around during our stay. We ate out each night and it cost about $50 AUD for the two of us including tips (could probably do it cheaper than that).
@@flyingthenest we based ourselves in Brasov and did day trips with our friends to Sighisoara, Rupea, Sinaia, Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Rasnov, Poiana and a few other little places. We only scratched the surface so we can't wait to go back and explore a lot more of the country. That Ravens Nest looked stunning guys! We didn't travel very far from Brasov because our friends have children that they had to get back to each day. : ) I fell in love with the Langos and the Kurtos Kalacs!!

The first ruler who used it in the Romanian lands was none other than Saint Stephen the Great of Moldavia, Vlad's cousin. Actually, it was a pretty common method of execution back then, and it originates in the Byzantine Empire. Vlad's notoriety comes from the fact that he impaled noblemen who committed crimes. Noblemen were usually beheaded, impaling being used mostly for common folk.

guys travel to Romania in the summer,in the winter is depressing ,cold and black,in the summer you should definitely include on your list Delta Dunarii or Danube Delta ,Portile de fier ale Dunarii or Iron gates of the Danube ,the place these guys went,Apuseni mountains where is also the eagle nest but they arr spectacular and so few people visit them,Turda Salt mine,Turda gorges ,Rimetea a Unesco little village ,there is also an old ruined castle nearby,Gradina zmeilor which translate into The dragons garden a beautiful place in Transylvania in Salaj county ,Peles castle spectacular and ofcourse the 2 epic roads Transfagarasan and Transalpina

I always liked the name "Transylvania" ... it evoked forests because the qualifier "Sylvan" evokes everything that lives in a forest ... I also thought it reminded me of "Transylvania Boogie" Franck Zappa .. but watching your video we realize that Transylvania still keeps a certain charm and mystery of old Europe especially through the view you had from your cabin lodge (still magnificent images from drone) in Romania, apparently you are not tourists but travelers because you spend more time there, you can always do more than within the limits of a touristic circuit. I really liked this a lot (shopping for breakfast in the morning) ! and Vlad's castle really inspired sadness because of all the horrible stories about him ! so good luck but also a lot of discoveries and pleasant surprises!

It's a great spot for beautiful views, and back in the time before Romans occupied my country, Deva was the capital of Dacia, ancient name of Romania. There is a statue of president of Dacia, named Decebal in the centre of city Deva! Deva is also the city where Nadia Comaneci was born and went to the Sports School and became the great Olympic gold champion in gymnastics back in 70's the school is near Cetatea Devei also! Reminds me of the train I took from Holyhead, Wales to Liverpool, England in 2016. The train was sooo old but the experience of that rigity train with incredible views of the countrysides (mostly of sheep everywhereeee) will last a lifetime. You always remember these experiences and that's why I love adventure trips :) Love the castles and log cabins you two always stay in :)

This vlog is one of the most epic ones that I've seen so far! I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Transylvania and that you tried the traditional foods all around the country. You are welcome to come back anytime. ^_^ just a little note on the historical part: Transylvania was not inspired by Hungary, rather than it was ruled by Hungary and the Austro-Hungarian Empire for long time, up until the first world war when the region was given to Romania. The region has mixed ethnicity, there are over 2 million Hungarians living in the region today, also Germans and most of them Romanians. There has always been a debate who's was this region originally, but that doesn't matter, because it is beautiful and unique in it's own mixed cultural way. So if you come to Transylvania, you can find both Hungarian and Romanian cultural elements, foods and languages in the same place :)
Well said, too many people argue and miss the point that the region is so culturally rich because of its history, it should be enjoyed for what it is rather than debated. Many cultures have ties to Transylvania and that makes it so interesting and diverse. Get over it
I agree, thank you for your point. However, as aomeone who's great-grandpa had to flee from Transylvania to move into inland Hungary because they were chased-fleeing from his country still, it saddens me to see how many people live there to this day and are not given proper rights. I understand that Erdély is now a part of Romania, but I wish that the whole scenario would have been and was handled with more care.

Let's not debate on this, it is a delicate topic for us as Romanians, and we do have enough historical arguments/reasons to not give "proper rights" to anyone others than the descendants of the Dacians

13:29 There are no different food cultures in the 3 regions of Romania. Those from Moldova, Wallachia or Transylvania eat the same and we all talk the same. There are some Hungarian dishes such as Gulas that all Romanians eat and those in Moldova because it is good food: D

I always liked the name "Transylvania" ... it evoked forests because the qualifier "Sylvan" evokes everything that lives in a forest ... I also thought it reminded me of "Transylvania Boogie" Franck Zappa .. but watching your video we realize that Transylvania still keeps a certain charm and mystery of old Europe especially through the view you had from your cabin lodge (still magnificent images from drone)
in Romania, apparently you are not tourists but travelers because you spend more time there, you can always do more than within the limits of a touristic circuit.
I really liked this a lot (shopping for breakfast in the morning) !
and Vlad's castle really inspired sadness because of all the horrible stories about him !

well, " silva" mean " forest" in latin. Roumanian language, spoken in Transylvania and all Roumania is a latin based language - like 80 % latin ...
So Transylvania means " across the forests' Look at a map to see why.

So nice to see you visiting my back home country. I'm from Deva in Transilvania also, please visit Cetatea Devei in Deva, you will not be disappointed! It's a great spot for beautiful views, and back in the time before Romans occupied my country, Deva was the capital of Dacia, ancient name of Romania. There is a statue of president of Dacia, named Decebal in the centre of city Deva! Deva is also the city where Nadia Comaneci was born and went to the Sports School and became the great Olympic gold champion in gymnastics back in 70's the school is near Cetatea Devei also!

Reminds me of the train I took from Holyhead, Wales to Liverpool, England in 2016. The train was sooo old but the experience of that rigity train with incredible views of the countrysides (mostly of sheep everywhereeee) will last a lifetime. You always remember these experiences and that's why I love adventure trips :) Love the castles and log cabins you two always stay in :)

This vlog is one of the most epic ones that I've seen so far! I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Transylvania and that you tried the traditional foods all around the country. You are welcome to come back anytime. ^_^ just a little note on the historical part: Transylvania was not inspired by Hungary, rather than it was ruled by Hungary and the Austro-Hungarian Empire for long time, up until the first world war when the region was given to Romania. The region has mixed ethnicity, there are over 2 million Hungarians living in the region today, also Germans and most of them Romanians. There has always been a debate who's was this region originally, but that doesn't matter, because it is beautiful and unique in it's own mixed cultural way. So if you come to Transylvania, you can find both Hungarian and Romanian cultural elements, foods and languages in the same place :)
Well said, too many people argue and miss the point that the region is so culturally rich because of its history, it should be enjoyed for what it is rather than debated. Many cultures have ties to Transylvania and that makes it so interesting and diverse. Get over it
I agree, thank you for your point. However, as aomeone who's great-grandpa had to flee from Transylvania to move into inland Hungary because they were chased-fleeing from his country still, it saddens me to see how many people live there to this day and are not given proper rights. I understand that Erdély is now a part of Romania, but I wish that the whole scenario would have been and was handled with more care.

13:29 There are no different food cultures in the 3 regions of Romania. Those from Moldova, Wallachia or Transylvania eat the same and we all talk the same. There are some Hungarian dishes such as Gulas that all Romanians eat and those in Moldova because it is good food: D
No we don’t talk the same and we don’t have the same culture and food 💀, in Transylvania we are completely different from the rest of the country.
