@M G that is factually incorrect, brasov and sibiu were built on the labor of romanian peasants who were then prohibited from living in the cities by the hungarian overlords in the 400 years during which we suffered colonial rule and forced magyarization. the cities were built by romanins, with romanian resources powered by the plunder of our lands by the empire. what you're saying is akin to an american pointing at a plantation and saying how proud thy are of the architecture.

Here's an actual Romanian person's list of top 10 placed to visit:
1. Transfagarasan Highway and Balea Lake - it is breathtakingly beautiful and for lovers of wind-ey misty charming mountainous roads it's a pure delight.
2. Sighisora - one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe, with buildings dating back to the middle ages and an amazing medieval charm and festival
3. Brasov - the city within mountains, the quaint medieval meets big city meets mountain party town that will catch your eyes.
4. Sibiu - the European capital of culture of 2007 - a beautiful artsy museum filled town to marvel at.
5. The Danube Delta - and here they got it right, it is unique, mesmerizing and picturesque...time moves at a slower pace there and nature enthralls you at every sunrise.
6. Cluj + Salina Turda - the hipster university town, up and coming and buzzing with life that has an underground salt mine that is so vast and trippy and unique.
7. Hunedoara region for the Corvin Castle and Sarmisegetuza - the oldest Dacian town, capital of former Dacia before being conquered by the Romans.
8. The Maramures region, up in northern Romania where traditions come alive and ppl still wear ethnic garments, and the green rolling hills rich with haystacks, peppered with UNEESCO heritage churches steeped in tradition

@@flaviusborozan7814 oh man don't take it personally, i would not add Oradea to the list. while it is a quaint little town there's not much to do after spending a few hours there. maybe if you're already in Ardeal (Transylvania for foreigners) one could stop by.
Sunt din Timisoara si Oradea recent am vizitat, chiar merita top 10 in opinia mea. Oras mic? Are peste 200 de mii de locuitori, printre cele mai mari din tara(locul 9 daca nu ma insel).

My God, I can’t wait until June and July! Every Christmas I make a list of places I want to go the next summer and I tell my mom, dad and sister to buy me a travel guide from one of those places and whatever wins, I have to travel to that next summer. As a beach girl who’s never been to the Black Sea, I need to spend at least some nights there. Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara are my my biggest spots of desire. But I have no idea how many days to spend in Bucharest. I love fancy hotels and museums and have some money to enjoy it. I feel Bucharest is a wildcard for me because I can see doing 2 days or 6 days there. What is your opinion?
@tasha mcthieson Yes, I totally recommend Brasov, Sibiu, and Sighisoara.
As for București, I would say 2 or 3 full days are enough for its major sights. Of course you can also spend 6 and still find things to do. Only that in summer București becomes very hot and people generally try to go to mountain resorts. If you have more time, I would rather recommend spending a few days visiting the Danube Delta also when you go to the Black Sea.

@@apetreiraluca7161 you have been so helpful for me! I have one more question that is eating at me. I definitely want to see Brasov, Sighisoara and Sibiu, as I said earlier. I have 9 nights to use between the three. I absolutely know I want to stay in Sighisoara over night at some point of that. Should I split my nights among the 3 places 3, 3 and 3? Or would you recommend a 5 and 4 split among two of the options and maybe just a day trip to the other? It’s way to hard for me to decide. What do you feel is best?
@@Tashie777 You are right. The 3 of them are beautiful cities and are well worth staying over night in each of them. However, Sighisoara is charming, but it is rather small. So if you are planning other side trips from Brasov, maybe you can stay only 2 nights in Sighisoara and 4 in Brasov. At a distance of only 18 kilometers from Brasov is the Fortified church of Prejmer. I recommend it and it is not very well known. If you are into medieval architecture, you'll like it.

Some of the best tourist attractions in Transylvania are the Bran Castle, Corvin Castle, Turda Saltmine, Transfagarasan, Transalpina, The Black Church (located in Brasov), The Bridge of Lies (located in Sibiu, Sibiu), and many more! If you are not used to cold and rainy weather with fog, dont visit norway, finland and middle and northern sweden. You wont enjoy it. Its cold the whole year and there are barely 10 different flowers growing in summer.
