    I inherited this same model in the cabinet and inside the chair is a bunch of what i know now as the button hole and those decorative patterns. Ive brought down from the attic and ive been working on restoring it to its formal glory. Looks perfect, just lock up. An oil bath didn't do the trick and when i took the cover off it felt like i was lifting up a hood of a car lol. So now im researching before i mess up this Cadillac. Im glad i found you! You sound like the right sewing mechanic im looking to learn from 😂. do you have any tutorials and/or dismantling/repair videos on this particular model? Just using its features?

    I own this Kenmore! It is a workhorse and still working wonderfully. Have the accessories cams and buttonholer.
    It's a heavy duty machine. It is now about 59 yrs old.

      Yes it is VERY heavy as I've picked them up before. Like picking up 2 bowling balls at once!!

    Great video Stephen! You do such a wonderful job, both refurbishing these fabulous metal machines, & educating people on how they function, & why specific details are important, particularly as to quality, & ease of use! Thank you!

    I just saw this today. I had one of these that we bought in 1974. Every time the salesman tried to demonstrate something, it turned into a disaster so he kept lowering the price. It was in a blonde cabinet and had a knee controller. One thing it had that was not in this video was a pasteboard box of attachments. It had a ruffler, a quilter and underbraider foot, and a series of different width hemmers. It had other things but I can't remember exactly now. I just bought a pig in a poke 201 and it hasn't arrived yet. I gave the Kenmore to my ex-husband and his third wife but I think I still might have the attachments. I also have a full set of the cams. It was an extra set I bought because he lost one or more, but he died. If you need it just let me know. I also have the Necchi Mark II but I haven't taken it out of the box yet. The pictures looked like it had a full set of cams and lots of accessories. I did a quick calculation and you can make over 87 billion combinations. I don't think I'm going to get that done.

    Hello there I have a ? What size motor belt does this machine use I have the exact same one and the belt broke and don’t know what size it uses. If you know please get back to me thanks.

      Hello Fernando. If you have the old belt that broke, you can measure it and order one based on that size. There are many sellers you can search online and use the Kenmore model number. Here is one I have used before. www.vintagesingerparts.com/search?q=6913%2C+DP6913
      This belt is longer than most as I recall. Always verify with a seller that the belt you are ordering will fit the machine model number.

    how do I oil a 902????

    • @VintageSewingMachineGarage
      @VintageSewingMachineGarage  2 роки тому

      Hi. The best way to learn oiling on a machine is to refer to the user manual, or if you don't have the original, you can find a PDF online. Some Kenmore groups on Facebook offer the manuals free or you can find them online as PDFs often for less that $10.

    Hello, I was given this sewing machine from a Minister. I have all the ACCESSORIES, however I do not have the MANUAL. Could you please tell me where I can get a manual?. This machine sew's like butter. I just love it. I make Totes, leather purses out of leather and canvas. So she is my baby for my business.
    Thank you so very much.

      Hello Linda. That is one amazing machine. I just recently found a similar one to the model you see in this video and I'm going to overhaul it. You can search online for PDF's of the manual, though this model is a bit more obscure than some. (It was also sold in a Cream/Gold two tone color as well. If you email me at my email address under the ABOUT tab for my channel, I can email you a copy of my PDF if you like.
