- So far we have covered simple regular verbs in the past and present tenses. We will now explain how to give orders using simple regular verbs. The basis for the imperative is the present tense verb form. Obviously, the imperative only applies to the second person singular, dual or plural, masculine or
feminine forms.

I am just beginning your first book and UA-cam series Arabic from the beginning. Wanted to reach out to you and say thank you for the work that you have done helping the western world approach the Arabic language without fear or apprehension.
It can be daunting to begin learning a new language, especially one with a new and alien script. You make it easy and fun, and your enthusiasm and passion for teaching makes it all the more easier to digest.
Sadly I don't have that much time to immerse myself in Arabic language study, but I can watch one or two of your videos a day and digest what I can from it! Will take it slow and work through Arabic from the beginning for a while until it is ingrained in my mind.
Really, I just wanted to say thank you for doing this, and doing it with such a passion and clear love of teaching. Alhamdulillah!

I have a question regarding page 59 in Gateway to Arabic book 3. Sentence number 6, he is reading a newspaper, is translated in your answer key as he is reading the newspaper. Let me know if I'm missing something, or if it's a mistake. Thank you so much!
You're right. It should be يَقْرَأُ جَرِيدَةً without the ال

Can you please tell me why the plural for doll ends in tanween Patha? دمي

I hope i can clear it somehow,
First of all, this type of plurals called “broken plural” and i think it’s one of the hardest things in Arabic, but it will be so much easier if you had more vocabulary because once you knew a word and it’s broken plural form, you will know the broken plurals for the words which has the same weight-I’m not sure if (weight) is the best word to describe the idea-.
Anyway what i meant by the same weight are words as you said doll and village
دمية = doll
قرية = village
and their plural form are
دمى ، قرى
And it doesn’t always have tanween
It depends on where it placed in the sentence and what comes before it
But if you say it or write it alone it’s ok to be written with tanween phath, sokoon or without any thing
But nouns ends with (ى) can only have phatha tanween
