    "most people print stuff that they don't even need" is so true. We all do it ... because we can. I guess the value in them is practice and learning about your new printer. Thanks for another great video! Nice endorsement at the end too!

      So true, Learning about your machine inside and out is a lengthly process and practice makes perfect (or as close as we can get). Daughter wanted to be in every video so this was one way i could make it happen lol, thus the endorsement. good luck and happy printing.

    Love your videos. They helped a ton with setting up my first printer (CR-10). I found a trick if your glass seems warped and you can't get the middle level. I just put 1 extra strip of masking tape on the underside of the glass and then tried to level it all again. It took me about 3 strips to finally get it all level. So if the middle seems to be sagging I think you can fix it a bit by putting tape strips on the underside of the glass just only in the middle and not the outsides. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

    The glass on my cr10s4 was perfectly flat and uniform in thickness. The alumium bed however, was not. It was dished like a bowl and an inspection on my granite surfaceplate showed a ridicilous dip of 1,6mm in the center compared to the corners. I have straightened it as best I can, and it works ok, but I will be replacing it with one I make myself and grind or scrape perfectly flat and fitted with a 220v heater. It sucks so bad having to wait 20 minutes for it to reach 60 degrees to see if the print starts ok.

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  5 років тому

      20 minutes is a long time so I can understand why its upsetting but good luck with the new bed.

    Question: How do the printer settings you've configured in Cura actually get to the printer? I'm assuming via the memory card? If so, how?

    • @truthbetold2793
      @truthbetold2793 4 роки тому

      Either from a direct connection from your 3d printer to your computer running Cura or yes, a micro sd in most cases. Cura will allow you to save the file in a format with all settings specifically made for your printer.

    I just had that problem whit the glass i was a bit lower in the midle. So u put a small pice of plastic under the glass in the middle and now it works perfectly!! So you can try that before bying a new glass.

    Basic cr10 from a year ago. Heats up just fine, starts to print. Gets about 2 to 5 mins in and just stops. Screen freezes up, button does not respond. Only way is to turn the on/off switch. Once powered back up, says "power interrupted" resume or stop print. Thing is, this stock printer isn't supposed to be able to do that. Also, it doesn't work anyway if I click resume. I have a continuous uninterrupted power supply running. The other printers never stopped, house never has a flickering of power going out. I even tried to start a different model up, still did it. Any ideas?????

  • @danj3191

    Great video, as always! I have a question regarding the micro SD card extension. I have read that there are a couple of problems with it. 1. the male portion does not lock into the printer. 2. Once in place, if you remove card (to take it to computer to get file) and replace it the printer wont see it unless you remove the cable from printer and reinsert it. Is this factual information? If yours does not have these issues, I would appreciate specific brand and source info. On a somewhat related issue, have you tried to connect the printer directly to your computer? I tried tonight but gave up when I found out apparently it's not just plug-and-play, there are drivers involved, etc. Have you considered a video on this process?

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  7 років тому

      Dan J the ad card extension works for me no problem. If the printer is on and u remove the card then plug the card back in it does not recognize it but you can initialize the card reader again( there is an option for that in the menu) or leave ur printer off plug in the card then turn it on, these two work for me. I haven't plugged a computer into it as of yet but I did try in the beginning and it is a pain but I have no need to connect it since my printer and computer are in two separate rooms.

      Sounds like the filament didn’t reach the nozzle. You have to feed a surprisingly large amount thru the tube. Heat up the nozzle and push until it comes out the nozzle.

    Good day. We recently bought a Creality Cr-10 V3 and was using itjust fine until we had to temporarily move it to another table.
    Problem is, once at the new location, the printer just doesn't work. The bed and the extruder heats up but after starting to print, the printer just stops and the control panel is frozen as it won't receive inputs anymore.
    Also when we set it back to home, there is this wierd pop that sounds like its coming from the extruder or bed, we can't tell which.

      @@SANTUBE thanks for the reply.
      Yes I did disconnect the cables connecting the printer to the control panel but loose wires weren't the issue.
      Apparently, my father copied over some files from his PC and one of them was a bin file. Not sure if it was the bin file interfering with the 3Dprinter but after reformatting the SD card, everything works again.

  • @Mysterio619Style
    @Mysterio619Style Рік тому

    The problem I’m having with mine is when I click auto home it keeps dumping and it seems like it’s stuck at the very bottom left-hand corner as if it’s saying that that is home but when I keep changing the XYZ to match the center of the plate, even when I go to print some thing It’s not close enough to the glass to print properly and even when I click auto home again, it goes back to that same section instead of the center of the plate. It makes a loud, thumping noise like it’s having an error. Constantly trying to push itself in a different direction that is not matching the coordinates.

    • @SANTUBE

      Check your z limiter switch to make sure it makes connect when the x axis comes down towards the be, by any chance did you modify your start g-code, also click on preference top left side , then printer, then machine settings and make sure your origin to center is unchecked. There could be other things too but lets start with that for now.

      Swammyswamswam your printer should have come with a thin metal wire looking thing. Once the nozzle is warm stick it in there and that should free it up. Make sure there is no filament in the tube.

    Hi, I'm nub. I have a cr10s with cura I just finished assembling/ setting up. I pulled up the little boat for my first print and loaded it up and it was doing pretty good at the start. Then.. it stopped paused there with the extruder still hot and did nothing. I thought maybe it was waiting on the bedplate to warm but idk why the extruder would stay hot like that and not relocate. Then it rezeroed and started from the beginning and screwed everything up. It did it twice. I'm running via USB to the cr10s. I can't get the card to work that it came with plus I like the onscreen read outs. Any idea what caused this and how to fix? I am using the USB wire it came with.

    Hi my printers z axis keeps on making some weekend notice every time it goes below a certain hight
    Any recommendations?
    I have a flashforge adventure 3 btw

    • @nataliesilsbury1888
      @nataliesilsbury1888 5 років тому

      Hi, we use many of the Flashforge Adventurer 3's for our business. I'll help you if I can. But what exactly do you mean by "making some weekend notice"?
      1 MAIN thing with that printer that nobody told me for 6 months. It ships with the gear tension set to max. (It will still work like this.. but in 3 months you will have issues)
      This is to help with shipping. There will be an allen key included in the maint bag with the printer. Use it to loosen the hex screw until it sits roughly flush with the casing.
      Then slowly tighten it back up until you feel a change in the resistance. (Overall, it should be MUCH looser than it came)
      Also, Flashforge PLA is best printed at 195c, even though the default settings are 210c. (The rolls will say 190 - 210c though).
      We had some pretty bad gear slipping and 'clicking' noises on both printers for a week (causing under-extrusion). I tried EVERYTHING.
      Except turning the temperature down.... I only tried up. Turning it down (and fixing the tension) fixed both printers to the point they are now better than new.
      For any axis problems, just clean the guides and then re-grease them with a brush.
      You should be able to do ALL the maintenance without taking off any of the casing of the machine.
      If you want to unclog the nozzle, and are trying the 'Atomic' method, you may need to pop off the clear top window.
      But for us, unloading the filament, unplugging the bowden tube, and then hand forcing some PLA down the extruder fixed any clogs we had.
      We use the default flashforge software, and no machine upgrades (or replacements).
      We print high quality model and experimental rocket parts for a business.

      Sorry for the late reply, Sounds like your connections are connect correctly. You mite have to open the control box to make sure the cables are pushed down all the way. Easy way to check if its you cable or motor. Take the Y axis wire and connect it to the x then try to move y axis and if your x axis moves then its not the motor you just have a loose connection. Here is a video on that, its not the most common way but it worked for me.: ua-cam.com/video/wEvIEVAJ_P8/v-deo.html. Here is a link for the nozzles: amzn.to/2zBemhi.

    I had to put the file on a different SD card to get it to print. That still doesn't help explain what is wrong though.

      if all you did is change the SD card but had the same file then it mite have just been the card.

    hey Sam How tight should i tighten the wheels under the bed to stop it from wobbling? (not the ones to adjust the bed level)

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  7 років тому

      baruch shad, tighten it is much as you need but don't over tighten it just enough so the bed doesn't wobble.

    • @baruchshad3203
      @baruchshad3203 7 років тому

      oops i think i might have over tightened them?! should i loosen them? what happens if they are too tight?

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  7 років тому

      Loosen them up again, then tighten each wheel until u can move it and the bed moves with the wheel and then make sure it doesn't wobble. Then repeat with the other two.

      By default the CR-10's home is top left corner, this is a very easy fix. Open Cura, click on Cura at top left then Preferences then printers then machine settings then uncheck where is says machine center is zero and that should fix you problem. Good Luck!

      Allen, I thought mine didn't either. I found the sd card stuck in the back of the thumb drive. Sneaky bastards, LOL.

      I wish that was the prob. The discripion said that it’ll be included but when I couldn’t find it anywhere I contacted the seller and then said that he made a mistake and forgot to delete the Sd being included. Also it didn’t come with a flash drive. I would’ve paid more for full accessories and how to operate. But thank god for the Internet and youtube. I’m just waiting for SF,tr, extension, pro filament and back plate to print on. For some reason I couldn’t make the usb cord to work to print directly from laptop. So yeah, playing the waiting game till the 31st

    How about making a video showing what to do when an object from won't print? I'm trying to print an item called the Screwdriver Stand on my Monoprice Maker Select 3D Printer and it just refused to print! At first I thought it was because the size was too big at 200mm which is the max. size so I reduced it to 95% but it still refused to do anything. I even made a new version of it in 123D Design and that won't even let me make a GCode file of it in Cura! How can I find out what the problem is?

    My printer is just literally autohoming, and when I select one of the stock images on the provided, it homes to the center, but then it doesn't move down to the bed. It then says print process and the percentage increases, but it doesn't move at all! Any ideas why it isn't going?

    Hey, I just started my first print on my cr-10, everything was going fine until after the heating. The vertical metal rod started turning back and forth over and over again. Please help

    • @SANTUBE
      @SANTUBE  6 років тому

      Are you talking about the Z rod, thats the one that pulls the X axis up and down.

    • @dylanbrooks8953
      @dylanbrooks8953 6 років тому

      Yes, it is the metal rod going up the side of the back left post.

      I think you have your wire crossed. double check your z, y and x axis wires to make sure they are connected in the right places.
