Though when drawing the structural formula of an ester we draw in the carboxylic acid first on the left hand side and then the alcohol.
Hi Luntu - when drawing structural formula, there is no rule for which order we draw it. Often teachers will make it easier to see it's an ester by using this as a guide, but it's not a rule.
